  1. It can be done with a file if you don't have any type of electrical grinder. Picture is from above left. Look down next to hinge pin. Small corner needed to be ground off. While doing work double check that brakes are working without any pressure being put on them while released. Some have reported that other brands have applied pressure to brakes making them drag.
  2. I put these on mine and only had a very small modification to make to clutch perch. Had to grind a small amount of material off of mount to allow lever to full return to release position. Been on bike for 2 months now and working perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C5MQKCM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  3. I have also felt this knock and will check tightness of steering bearings. Don't really think it will cure it though. When front end is off the ground I can grab front wheel and, while pulling forwards and back on it, I feel a slight looseness and movement. Also, planning on getting Traxxion cartridges and having it rebuilt by them. Just a bit annoying is all so far and can't say bike handles badly.
  4. I went out and did the suggested turn off method and worked fine. Repeated it several times off and on to be sure and it did the trick. Took for test ride to confirm it also. Lift up hard on shift lever, turn on ignition and count to 10 or 12 seconds, release lever and QS indicator on display goes off. Thanks for info Tracerracer !
  5. Thank you!! That was what I was looking for. Figured there had to be something since there was an indicator on the display.
  6. I find that the only time it works well is less than full throttle. At full throttle it seems to have too long of a delay (ignition cutout) and feels like you are being slowed down by engine braking. I can do much better and quicker shifts using old method of very briefly letting off throttle and upshifting without clutch. That brings me to a question! I cannot find where to turn it off. Anyone know how to turn off quickshifter? Have read all I can on it and found nothing.
  7. Sat on one at Corbin in Daytona and thought it would be very comfortable for long rides. Problem for me was it was very tall and could not be lowered. Well built and looked great too, but was higher than high setting of stock seat.
  8. First a quick intro. New to this board and bike. My main bike is 2011 Kawi Concours 14. Other rides are 2001 Gold Wing and SV650. Wanted something in between Concours and SV650 and think the Tracer Gt will fit well. From Ft. Lauderdale and do most riding in NC, GA, SC and TENN. mountains. Replaced the stock bars. I didn't like the position the handlebars were putting my arms in, they were putting a little pressure on my wrists (maybe a little Carpal Tunnel issue). The ends of the stock bars seem to tilt up too much and seemed more of an elbows up dirt bike riding position. Tried rotating them back and moved the mount forward but not enough change. The new bars I'm trying are a little lower on the height, kind of flatter, with more Sweep. See photo. The control mount area was a little shorter than ideal and was a tight fit to get all controls mounted. The brake master and clutch perch are right at the bend of the bar. I tapped the bar ends (M16 x 1.5) to put on the handshield adapter. Bar inner diameter was fine to go without drilling. These are the bars I used. Renthal Fatbars model # 819-50 Gold. Bars are near perfect position for me but could be better, not so wide would be about it. https://www.renthal.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4205 These are the short levers I'm using. Not the greatest quality and had to do a very small amount of grinding on the clutch perch to allow the lever to fully return to mount. They're better than stock, for me, but want shorter. Looking for shorter true 2 finger levers. Any suggestions welcome on both levers and alternative bars. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C5MQKCM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I noticed some other bikes I saw, such as newer Versys, use a fat bar like the GT. Maybe someone will have info on bend/height/width and could be used??
  9. I've been meaning to find out if the bike has a Thermostat or not and what temp it opens at. Mine does seem to run cool, compared to cars, (150-160F) and suspect either it doesn't have a thermostat or it is set very low. Typically cars have a thermostat for 109F-210F. They do that to get them up to operating temp faster so pollution controls work properly.
