  1. My Concours is a 2011 also. I've had it for about 8 yrs. now and I will probably will sell it because I prefer to ride in Carolinas vs. S Fla. Concours is a great bike and I'd like to keep it but have to make room for something new. The Concours has it's place, which I feel is better on straight long roads, where power of it can be used. 900GT is a better all around bike. I have modified the suspension, as many others have, to suit me better. Can just about guarantee you will love the Tracer GT.
  2. I also ride a Concours, which I still have, and say the comparison between them would be best described by saying the Concours is great for long straight Florida roads and the 900GT is better for all around use. It does well on highways and is much better for twisty NC mountain roads. The power is totally adequate and handling MUCH better than the Concours. I really don't feel the need for more power up here in NC. Depending on your riding style, level of riding and types of roads it is most likely a better bike for you. I'm 5'11" 195 lbs.
  3. Excellent mod. Been meaning to fiddle with that sometime and you probably just saved me some time.
  4. If it doesn't fit get a bigger shed. It will be worth it!
  5. I didn't really keep close track of it as I don't care too much about what I spend on "upgrades". Traction Dynamics front end and Penske rear shock $1800?, exhaust and flash about $1200 and other small items, engine protection, handlebars and controls. Probably in the area of $3400 total. But I like adding to the bike to suit me. I have almost 23,000 miles on it now and have 4 other bikes that I ride (Concours 14, Gold Wing, SV650 and DRZ400). The GT is my favorite though. Don't think I'll recover much if any of the extras unless I sell them separately.
  6. I can't comment on the Akro system. I have the Yoshi full system and love it. I lost around 8 to 10 pounds, can't remember for sure on that, the sound is awesome, gained about 11 bHP, 5 ft lbs of torque and to my eye the gain is throughout the rpm range and smooth. This is all with a reflash of ECU by Vcyclenut. I do agree that a suspension upgrade is probably better money spent. I did that also. It all depends on you and the type of riding you do. I find that more power is best for me when I'm on the flat straight roads of Florida and the suspension upgrade is more useful in Carolina mountains. Check out Dyno chart. It got mislabeled on the chart, but it is mine.
  7. From the replies I'm reading it seems that the cheap Chinese one has consistency issues. Mine was perfect but others did not have the same results.
  8. I always assumed it was "IN" for intake temp.
  9. I also bought this one also and can say it was a perfect fit. Did a review with pictures on it on the items site. My review is the first one with photos.
  10. I run the Mich Road 5's on my Kawi Concours 1400. Run them at 41/41. Much bigger and heavier so sort of gives you an idea of an upper limit on a smaller bike. Running the Dunlop Roadsmart 3's on Tracer GT right now and love them.
  11. I will when I use it, but probably going to be a while because of this virus fun we're having. Bike is in another state.
  12. Here is the one I bought. You will find more info and links here on the site if you search. Have not used it yet. Yamaha Diagnostic 4 Pin to OBD2 cable With Autel MS300 scanner ...
  13. I've been using Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart 3 tires on my 2019 900GT for about the last three sets (and love them) and decided to try the new Bridgestone Battlax S22 tires. Haven't put them on yet so can't say good or bad about them. Just wanted to tell all that the Bridgestones are cheaper and there is a rebate of $60 on them. I paid about $230 for set inc. shipping from Rocky Mountain ATV. minus $60 rebate so, $170 after rebate. Last set of Dunlops were $305. $135 savings. Now just have to wait on this virus lockdown to clear to get back to the mountains. Here's a link which hopefully will work 2020-Bridgestone-Mar-Apr-Rebate-Form

  15. That is a good price! I just paid about $185 for a whole setup with Vortex sprockets and DID VX chain. I think if you stick with bigger name products you probably can't go too wrong. Haven't put them on yet though. 18,500 and still looks good. What kind of mileage is everyone getting?
  16. They are both about the same as each other and if you look at it and think on it you'll probably see how. The shifter has a lock nut on either end of the long tube. The threads on each end are opposite to each other. Loosen each of those and you'll find that when you turn that long tube one way or the other it will raise and lower your shifter peg. The bolts on either end of the long tube are threaded in opposite ways so that when you turn it it spreads the distance or shortens it between the pivots. The brake is similar but slightly different. Look at where the shaft from the brake piston goes through the metal piece which is attached to pedal with a pin. There are two nuts on it, one on either side of the metal piece. Loosen the top one while holding the shaft still with wrench (10mm I think). Then spin the shaft one way to raise pedal and spin the other to lower. Make sure to remember to tighten locking nuts to all when done.
  17. I have an old Garmin Zumo 550 mounted on the GT's left handlebar. When I put the GPS on, and let it boot before turning on ignition, it has a full 5 bar signal. As soon as I turn on bike signal bars drop to 3 and sometimes 2. It effects it so much so that if I start the bike before booting GPS the unit can't lock onto the signal. Something definitely going on with the LCD screen.
  18. I used these with no problem mounting them. Do one side at a time as the springs are a different twist for left and right. The only difference is the length of the feeler that comes with kit. The peg extension that will rub the ground first before undercarriage. I drilled and tapped each peg to use stock feelers. The geometry of these new pegs must be different as I used to only occasionally rub the pegs and now rub them quite a lot. Tells me that somehow they are lower in position the stock. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MF8K6MZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  19. The shop manual states that total fuel is 4.8 gal./18 liters and reserve is .69 gal./2.6 liter. I find that once my fuel symbol comes on and I have stopped right away it will take 3.8 gal.. So, for me I have a 1 gal or maybe .9 gal. reserve. I generally get about 40-45 miles to the gallon.
  20. If it is the cost that scares you off there are cheap alternative. Quality is ok, just not as good as big name levers. I myself like the short levers. Check out this post, Sorry! Something went wrong!
  21. I have a cheapy one from Amazon for my car that records in whatever time segments I want and senses an impact that it then saves and locks. Problem with those is they won't last on a bike. Weather and vibration will kill them pretty fast.
  22. I do it occasionally, mostly for myself, and have edited a few videos for Facebook. I don't think any of the current "action cameras" are well suited for constant recording for accident proof. There is one full time system I read about, Innovv K2. It is pricey though, $338. Does front and rear at the same time. Probably others out there.
  23. One bad thing about these displays (although they look good) is they interfere with my Garmin Zumo 550 GPS reception (old model, yes maybe that's part of it). I will have full bars on signal meter with bike off and as soon as I turn on the GT the bars go down to 3-4 bars. Have heard others say the same.
  24. If you go to one of the sites that sells OEM parts, revzilla.com and ronayers.com are two I use. Find the master cylinder for your bike and copy the part #. Take that part # and do a search on your favorite search engine for that part and you can find what other bikes use it. 2DR-2580A-00-00 Is the part and here are some results. Looks like many bikes use that part. https://gibiru.com/results.html?q=2DR-2580A-00-00&cx=partner-pub-5956360965567042%3A8627692578&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=UTF-8
  25. These are Torx security bits. Easily had in many places, for us it is Harbor Freight or Amazon plus others. https://www.amazon.com/OEMTOOLS-25959-Security-Bit-Piece/dp/B078K5D9H4/ref=sr_1_7?crid=2E6KIWAP9V4FZ&keywords=security+bits&qid=1566114681&s=gateway&sprefix=security+bits%2Caps%2C237&sr=8-7
