  1. Im with you on that ,,only takes a couple minutes to oil chain and I actually enjoy doing it ,,for longer trips I just bring a small bottle ,,
  2. Dam good advice on rivet link ,,yeah not a fan of the clip Thanks
  3. sounds like cheap chains with Yamaha you put 6K miles on it within a year ?,,wow BTW I had a cat identical to yours,,if that's yours,, weight about 8 pounds soaking wet ,,
  4. yeah was thinking the same ,,,Thanks
  5. Yeah I looked at that Raven but noticed they got a bad rap,,Only 4 k sounds harsh to me ,,so far so good with Verge . I have to say the Battlax that game with my old fz 07 lasted a long friggin time ,I replaced that at over 10 k and could have gone longer ,,and I was anything but gentle on that bike
  6. A couple different things ,,Bel Ray,Dumonde Tech ,,wd 40. { KIDDING} ,,,🤪 I made sure whatever it was was O ring recommended ,,I read somewhere Yamaha had a bad batch of chains ,,my FZ 07 had no problems after 16 K
  7. Need new chain after 8500 mies ,,what's up with that ,the O rings are falling apart . and its been well maintained I know nothing about chains other than its stamped 525 on link last dumb question ,,x ring or O ring ,,amount of links,,I count 59 so assuming my chain is 118 links ? Does anyone know if I go up a tooth in the rear will the 118 still work ? any recommendation on chain would be helpful,,I dont think I need anything fancy like gold ,,its a chain right Much appreciated thanks
  8. Question ?,,did going up that ratio make it anymore say jerky in 1st ?,,can you just change the rear ?or is that counter productive ?,, My 2020 has weak pull away speed at higher MPH ,,need to dump it down a couple gears for any good pull
  9. Anyone else having chain issues ? ,my 2020 with about 8 k miles is falling apart ,,the o rings are breaking and hanging like hair from an untrimmed nose ,,and I am a fanatic about keeping clean and oiled
  10. Micheline snobery ,,,overpriced Shinko for me ,,I have the 011 verge ,,love them and the price ,4 K on them and they look new ,,can't comment on wet roads since I never ride in rain if possible ,but we did get caught in a massive downpour for a few hours and they were fine
  11. first must say good product review ,,but for someone looking for an add on screen you can't tell us the name of the product ,,its like what's the point ,,,,Frustrating !!
  12. its a nuts gauge ,,you ride for a couple hours with a full tank then bam,,your down to half ,,and so on,,, ect
  13. Me too,,,,the tab that sits against the c c barely touches ,,and I mean barely,,but hasn't been a problem,, had to adjust cable at clutch housing,,,also I did notice the brake lever had more travel ,,I may try and insert a bb in the socket ,,I had to do that on FZ07 but it was worse ,,they were Chinese ,,,
  14. YIKES,,,,Not sure I would be using WD40, the manual calls for kerosine ,,and never use motor oil,,like wd 40 it has additives that will mess up orings
  15. Its funny ,,different butts different outcomes,,I didn't mind fz07 seat at all, ,,not fan of tracer seat at all,,I like the washer tip cause I'm always feeling pitched forward ,,Thanks ,, and if you want to save a few bucks cutting about 3 inches off stock windshield was great for me ,,no buffeting ,and still some protection ,,
  16. its so interesting how we get different results,,he did my fz07 and by no means did it transform the bike ,,it helped but did not transform it. as of now I cant answer your last question ,,I was hoping to hear from some members with newer bikes but so far nota one
  17. I am about to drop him a line ,,I will lyk what he says,,,as of now I haven't heard from anyone with a newer bike
  18. its not that they don't offer it ,,it was more like sometimes we can't over ride it ,,that's why im curious if anyone with a newer model has had the same issue
