  1. Thank you! What a rinky dink set up. I thought about just buying a new one but the parts house price is $126. I may dive into it next rainy day we have. Really appreciate your info!đź‘Ť
  2. If someone has taken that damn thumb wheel apart did anything pop out at you? Mine has no soft detent at all, you gotta push like heck to get it to budge and there can be nothing soft about that first push. I have used contact cleaner and dry silicone as well as WD-40. Aggravating to say the least. I have checked recalls and the only thing I see is about brakes. Any info provided on thumb wheel is appreciated.
  3. He's busy. Emailed me about 4wks ago, no more orders until end of Aug.
  4. I found some gutter leaf guards at a home improvement store that will work. Made of aluminum heavy screening black. Paid $2.49 each. Havent mounted yet but will be easy. Beats $50-60.
  5. Well, you certainly have experience I don't. Hope you can get satisfaction somehow. Goid luck.
  6. Gotta ask, did you ask before flash if it would be changed? Assume so? I'm not a fan of this stuff anyway. Factory settings and engineering are set up typically for "best" performance. Lots of $ is wasted on tweeking imo to no real avail.
  7. Do you happen to know a part number for the FJR lids, and what year bike? More capacity will be very beneficial vs a PITA duffle thrown across the seat. Soft bags are beneficial from being expandable usually, to scratching and breaking in something as simple as a parking lot bike drop. Thanks by the way for the suggestion.
  8. Thx, helpful info. I'll have to check my rack for mounting bolt positions.
  9. What soft saddlebags are you using on 2020 tracer 900gt? Has anyone added tie down/lashing options for strapping on duffles, etc?
  10. Snowy Range is neat, camped there. Centennial motel used to be comical. The steak house may not be ooen now but was excellent.
  11. Just back from 3400 miles KS, CO, NM, AZ, and some UT. Average ove about 7 tanks shows 56.7. Couldn't reset the mileage each tank because the damn thumb wheel thing wouldn't work. We rode into strong headwinds, lots of mountains and deserts. Mountains and altitude usually help. As for fuel tank capacity, my warning light srltarted flashing and mileage counter started the count up. We were far from gas so I rode the shoulder at the speed that indicated the highest mpg. Made it 43 miles to gas riding that way and the tank took 4.675 gal. If tank capacity is 4.8gal as stated I had fumes and a couple drops left. Hope this info is helpful. Lucky to have found gas in Kit Carson CO. It wasnt listed on phone or gps, and next listed gas was over 30 mikes. I carry a siphon hose and would have used it if needed.
  12. Revzilla advised they have the Yamaha Comfort seat in stock, much cheaper than Bagster, Corbin, Sargent. You might try to find someone nearby who has a seat of your interest and see if they would let you try it briefly. Would give some sense of that brand. FWIW. Good luck with your hunt!
  13. BB's work. I have used lead tape (golf club wt change) with some success to tweek wt .
  14. Thanks for your reply Al. That F800 was a hot bike, and buzzy, my R1100 was fairly hot too. I've ridden the Vernal area many times over the years and it is an interesting area. My 900 is new, and the only panels that have been off are the turn signal panels and whatever the tech took off for the break-in first service. Panel gaps are even on both sides of the bike. I leave later this week for a ride until we are tired of it couple week trip. I've looked head on at the bike and see nothing that looks out of place or missing. Coolant temps are in the mid 170's range. My issue is not huge, just something I intend to see if I can improve it regardless of some of the earlier never ever been an issue on these bikes comments. I leave later this week with a buddy on what could end up a 2+ week trip so will see.
  15. Good for you. But for me if I can easily improve anythi g about rider comfort for me, I will. We see lots of posts about issues for others that I think-really!? Doesnt make them a non issue for that poster.
  16. The water temp guage is not the issue! It is not a ride stopper but the hot air in the engine compartment area flows through the gap I mentioned right onto my inner thighs. Just looking for ideas to reduce that flow. It's not a guage issue.
  17. Most bikes have this phenomenon, some worse than others but heat build up from the engine flows to the nearest open spot to escape. For me it;s on both sides of the fuel tank along the opening between tank and carbon fiber look trim piece hitting both of my thighs. Looks like that gap can simply be blocked with some foam roping I have, think I will try it this week before leaving on a trip to HOT Western US. I would think the heat would just find another opening behind the rider position. Thoughts?
  18. Well, red is still faster! Enjoy the new ride, and do so safely!
  19. I'm a MadStad fan, but at $325 vs $30 you'd be foolish to not try it!
  20. As an aside, several years ago 3 of us were tearing through some twisties in AR. I was behind a buddy who had a bead rider on his seat. All of a sudden the string lacing the beads together broke and for about 30 min. he slowly lost about half his beads in front of me. I found it comical, he didn't realize what was happening until his seating position changed. Beads bouncing bouncing bouncing! Funny.
  21. Cooling is not a problem, it's seat width in the dish part. I've seen Cool Covers and they do nothing for that issue. Good for you though, a cool arse can't hurt anything!
  22. RevZilla notified me this morning that they have the Yammy Comfort seat for 2020 Tracer 900GT. Likely a limited supply but if anyone is interested better get it ordered. Hope this helps someone.
  23. I don't have a slide forward problem with my Sargent. If Yammy would put a comfort seat on the Tracer instead of that torture stock thing, even if a little more $, i bet they could sell more bikes. The aftermarket seat makers know they have somewhat a captive audience.
  24. My Sargeant seat cost that and it is very comfy. I had a Corbin on a BMW years ago that was awful. Hope your experience is good. The black seat back doohickys dont work with my seat, had to cut off half of the step, worjs great now.
