  1. It's in Durham N.C. ONLY 2000 MILES and change. https://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/d/durham-2019-yamaha-tracer-900/7460570817.html SOLD...... There's good info about purchasing prices though.
  2. My bike must know that I don't get crazy out there because it tells me, "See You Next Time" when the ride is over so I take comfort in that, lol. Other than that I check chain, tires, lights, oil level and wipe bugs off.
  3. Hello my fellow Yamaha FJ-09/Tracer 900 peeps.

I'm better known as Jon. I live two miles from Martinsville Speedway. I'm a Land Surveyer, husband, dad, home owner. I have two great dogs, Chloe and Cain.

I've been riding street bikes from age 19. First bike was a 1982 Yamaha Seca 400. I then became a Yamaha fan. after 7 years on the Seca I got  a 94 Kawasaki KZ 700. I sold that one in 2005. I didn't own any bikes until July 2021 I purchased this 2015 FJ-09.

For 16 years I didn't ride at all but wanted to. My dream bike was always a TDM 850. When I first saw one on a showroom floor in Raleigh NC back in the 90's

  4. This looks like the right part if you strip out the filter stud. https://www.partshark.com/oemparts/a/yam/546a26cbf87002164cb28017/oil-cleaner# I also use a rare-earth magnetic oil drain plug.
  5. I wish you were near me. I have a rear Pirelli Angel ST that needs to go on in a few hundred miles

  6. Did slip-on and ECU flash with removing AIS plumbing and Graves Blockoff plates I didn't do spark plugs and Throttle Body Synch yet, that'll be after Valve clearance and Timing Chain inspection / adj. Should be as smooth and strong as it gets after that. PS. No girlie hands or fingers here but yeah, it's hard to work in there
  7. I'm sorry to keep going on and on about MY bike but it's the only one I know right now, he he. So I filled it up with 93oc as always and took a ride with my new summer jacket on a 40°f sunny day, had under layers on. I must say "again" wow, I had the most thrilling ride I've ever experienced. The confidence in my ride, the power and speed but nothing crazy. The cool air gave my engine great and noticeable more torque. Fun, fun, omg! I'm sure that the stuff that I did over the winter has a lot to do with it, plus the cold air. The tires were warm because I had been on a 40 mile ride so far before the last bit of tight twistys of about 3 miles before I got home. I've done some excellent things to this bike and it rides awesome. Here's a map of the road. There are curves with radiuses of 150 or 200 feet with super elevated pavement So fun....
  8. I'm putting this on my 2015 fj-09 when I get it in the mail, should be on Wednesday or so. Throttle lock for a 5 hour trip to Cape Hatteras in mid August. I wish that I had it Thanksgiving morning when I left my house near Martinsville and rode to Raleigh. I left the house in 27°f and my right hand took a beating. I had not flashed my ECU yet and between the vibration and cold, omg. It's crazy how the flash got rid of the vibration. http://www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/fz09.htm
  9. I love my Sargent seat! I've broken my tailbone twice and the stock seat on my 2015 fj-09 was terrible. The Sargent was a very good purchase.
  10. I am thrilled with what I wound up doing to mine. I watched a lot of exhaust mod videos on YouTube and shopped around. I decided to go with the Competition Werkes Slip-on. It LOOKS and sounds awesome. I knew it would be loud so I went ahead and got the Baffle, tried it like that but it was still too loud so I got some fiberglass and wrapped it, now it's perfect. I painted the front half of the exhaust black after I cut the 30 pound converter off. It wasn't hard to do.
  11. Some old guys buy young girls "not to keep for ever of course" and some buy young bikes. LOL
  12. Yeah, that might be some of the looks I get. I'm 55 and 6,1 230. When I don't have the case's on "especially" the bike looks like a rice rocket so to speak. It is. I'm still young at heart, I play video games too.
  13. I patronize my local small business. When I pull in a parking lot and park my bike a lot of times someone has something to say about it. Good or bad. 99% good thank goodness. They say what is that? Not seeing the small Yamaha logo on the side. Most people don't know what the tuning forks are anyway but love the bike's looks. They love the way it sounds too as I do. I got this thing last summer and did some magical upgrades and now it is a unbelievable performer on highway and the twistys. Looks great, rides great. I'm so in love with my bike. I hope you guys are in love with you're bike like that.
  14. When I got this bike it had a Shinko Verge front and it had good tread and grip but it wore out very quickly.
  15. Raven had the best reviews by far over any other Shinko tire to choose from on the web site at hand and that's why I got one. I don't regret it because I only payed $97 for it a "190/50 17", it had good grip. I felt safe on it and I'd get another one if in a low cash pinch. I'm moving up the latter one at a time. This bike is not new but it is to me. After this Pirelli Angel ST I will get a Michelin Road 5 or 6, what ever good deal comes along. Hopefully I'll ride long enough to try them all, A to Z
  16. I've got a new Pirelli Angel ST waiting for the threads to start showing on the Shinko Raven, "JK" but that'll be soon enough.
  17. I have a Shinko Raven on the rear. It' seems okay but I have not been in rain with it. It needs replacing at 4000mi and I haven't doged it. The tread pattern doesn't look like it would disperse water like the Michelin Road 5 or Pirelli Angel ST IMHO.
  18. I'm very happy with what I did to mine. Cut off the ugly as hell 30 pound converter, painted front half black. Put on 8 pound Competition Werkes Slip-on. I did get the $40 baffle so $600 and a couple hours work total. I did 4 coats of paint.
  19. A good picture of it would be nice. Happy for you. Ride on.
  20. If l admitted buying Shinko I'd do so after getting some Dunlops 😁
  21. Just got my 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 in July. The rear was worn out already. 1st replacement was Shinko Raven now need to replace it after about 4000mi. I got a Pirelli Angel ST. We'll see how it goes. I wanted a Michelin Road 5 but I saved $100.
  22. No but got my elbow on the pavement, ouch.
  23. I did a Sargent seat also. had to chop the pic way down but this is my baby in the morning sunshine.
