lapuree
Hi everyone, I don't have my FJ-09 yet but am already looking at luggage. I'm looking for something non-permanent; it will be used probably 5-10 times a year and am not really interested in the side luggage/top case option for many reasons so I was looking at large tail bags (>45 liters). Any advice on a good one for the FJ-09? I was thinking in this one: http://shop.sw-motech.com/en/4052572000403.htm but am not sure it would fit well. It goes for ~150€. Any advice on a good one for the FJ-09? Although it's primarily for my KTM 690, I'll probably use this on the FJ-09 too: http://mosko-moto.myshopify.com/collections/moto-camping-luggage/products/reckless-80l Might be more room & cost than you want. The video on the page describes it really well. FJ-09, 690 Enduro R. Back Roads. Period.

deersSlayer
I know a couple of folks using the GiantLoop Great Basin. You may have to do some work to make it waterproof. I had a GL Coyote. During a heavy rain (about 3 hours) one of the 'legs' filled up with water. It let the water in, but did not drain. B-| FJ-09, 690 Enduro R. Back Roads. Period. Premium Member builderbob Posted May 18, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted May 18, 2015 I have this bag from Aerostich. It's been a great accessory and has made the transition to several different bikes I've had. It's even been to Alaska with me.
mjsracing
The giant loop Great Basin now incudes 3 seperate dry bags that go into the bag. 2015 FJ-09, 2016 1290 Super Duke, 2017 150 XC-W (primary ride), 2012 DR650
lapuree
this one that I found... on Youtube of all places, seems pretty well designed as well: http://www.amazon.com/Saddlemen-TS3200DE-Deluxe-Cruiser-Tail/dp/B000WPUG8E $146, 50 liters capacity Not sure how would it fit on the Tracer though, the passenger handlebars could be a problem maybe. minsis
I purchased a Soft Tail Bag by Nelson-Rigg and really love it. When I go around buying parts or just stuff in general I'm able to put it all int he bag and then just disconnect it from the bike and carry everything inside. I put the link from Yamaha but do yourself a favor and shop around unlike me; I've found this exact bag from other online retailers and they were about 30-40 bucks cheaper https://www.yamahapartsandaccessories.com/product/details/soft-tail-bag-by-nelson-rigg?b=Street+Motorcycle&d=28|
lapuree
thanks. Looking at their website, I also found this one which is pretty cheap: $88 at Amazon, 56 liters capacity http://www.amazon.com/Nelson-Rigg-CL-3000-Black-Highway-Cargo/dp/B00RGQ1KWS CL 3000 highway cargo bag I like the fact that you can strap it to the seat itself what I don't like is that I can't find a retailer in France :-( UK & Germany only for Europe apparently
minsis
I tried attaching mine to the seat but it didn't work out so well as I was having a hard time getting the back part of the seat to hook into place; I also didn't have time to fiddle around with it so it may or may not work. I see that revzilla and motorcycle super store sell that bag you like online, I think they ship to France?

I like the way RKA tail bags attach to the passenger seat (see 'the pad'), but their bags are not that big. Easy to find if you search "RKA luggage". FJ-09, 690 Enduro R. Back Roads. Period. hupelde
I'm using this one from SW-Motech...it's extendable to carry 33 liter and is a perfect fit on the passenger seat...:
Guest rszk
That SW Motech looks great. I may need to pick one up if my city bag mounts don't arrive before our trip. Is the SW Motech quick release from the bike?
hupelde
It's using a strap on the 4 corners...I'm using the 4 hooks which are on the FJ-09 by design...so potentially it's a quick release...
