cjbrian
I was at Yoshimura today picking up a exhaust for my racecar. While I was there I asked if they would be making a exhaust for the FJ. He said yes it's in the works and he also said it will work with the center stand and various types of luggage. Only thing I couldn't get out of him was a time frame. rocky5000100
An FJ specific one? Cool, cause it looks like the one they've been dynoing was a FZ09 Yoshi: http://fj-09.org/thread/1889/fj-09-yoshimura-exhaust Hopefully power is the same! thetruck454
That is great to hear. I have yoshi's on my past two bikes and I loved the tone. I was planning on removing the center stand to fit a yoshi on the fj, but I find myself using the center stand a lot. This new means I get both! lapuree
There's one on their website, but I'm not sure about the luggage clearance: http://shop.yoshimura-jp.com/en/product/syousai.php?id=16657
ogri
Old school styling...sad:(. And it doesn't look pannier compatible...again sad:(. I'm guessing that it is really meant for the FZ market. STUFF EVERYTHING - I'VE ALWAYS GOT MY BIKE!
rocky5000100
I'd go for the "Metal Magic" cover on the exhaust part. It's one of the options listed below on the website. But I am curious to see if it works with the side bags. I don't get why manufacturers design exhausts that won't work for half of their potential base. A lot of people buy the FJ09 so they can do some longer rides, and saddle bags are quite common.
lapuree
Honestly I think they just re-use the same parts over and over again with the minimum changes possible to fit newer models
aceofhearts
Thats disappointing I can't see how that will fit with my luggage and I prefer the low exit exhaust. Still looks like arrow is at the top of the list but I don't ant to pull the trigger yet in case anything better comes along. I had high hopes for Yoshimura
lapuree
I had an Arrow (actually 2 ;-)) on my Street Triple for the best part of 70 000kms and loved it but when I asked my Yamaha shop, the guys was saying quality is pretty bad which surprised me. At the same time, his job is to sell me a 1200€ Akrapovic...
GoldenPenguin
I think it actually looks pretty good. A lot of people complain about how loud these bikes are with an exhaust and that will definitely help quiet it down without losing any power. The only downside is obviously the bag issue. cjbrian
When I talked to the guy at Yoshimura he said they were testing out different types of luggage. So they are taking it into consideration. I guess we have to wait and see
