thr carbon tipped one shows a much smoother and linear dyno graph as well more power than the old style one...
2012 wr250f - C-class 30+ age group
2015 fz-07- Hordpower Edition-80whp
2015 fj-09- Graves Exhaust w/Woolich tune by 2WDW @120whp
The carbon tipped version has a non removable baffle to comply with Euro4 emissions regulations.  I'd go for the all titanium one - or remove the centre stand and get the FZ/MT09 carbon can version
The 2016 version peaks at lower rpm, weighs less.

yeah, i really just should have looked at the graphs a little closer.

The S-Y9R8-HEGEHT does appear to have a more linear power curve, or the dyno operator must have been doing a better job that day. Also noticed the date in the bottom left of the dyno graph is 3 years newer (2016 vs 2013 for S-Y9R3-HAFT).

I kinda wished I'd have gotten the carbon tip instead of the Ti tip. But I love my Ti Akro either way.

Frightening dip in power curve at 3000rpm on the earlier version - that would be expensive to resolve
I just installed the carbon tip version. I did it more for sound than any slight increase in power that it might offer. Nice to know that there might be some, although I didn't notice anything significant.

it's a lot of money for no improvement

Oh, but there is improvement.  It no longer sounds like a sewing machine.   ;)
