Every Sunday morning rain or shine there is a motorcycle get together at a coffee shop on the cool downtown square in Denton, TX.  Denton is a college town (Univ. of North Texas) with a funky vibe (think poor man’s Austin) and solid bike culture.

The weather was nice this morning and a variety of bikes were there, even an FJ-09. I see very view of these in the area.

Let me know when you’re going to be in the area.  College Station down to Fayetteville is a decent ride if you pick the right route. 

I’m heading out that way in the morning... Fayetteville, Round Top, Burton, Lake Somerville.   Exact route will depend on how early of a start I get, but it should be a 250 - 300 mile day.

Downtown Denton sure looks a lot different than it did when I left.  I used to ride through there a lot from my place in Haslet.

I sadly can’t show a picture of my motorcycle in this post, but I did stop by the Rock Store yesterday (in a rental car). My main two objectives were to replace the shirt I bought there two years ago that my washer has destroyed and to show the family The Snake from my visit. The Snake is closed right now due to the fires and recent rains that have reduced it to needing repaving. 

But I did get a personalized tour of the place and history by Rich, the owner and son of the originators. A nicer guy you will not meet!
