Saw this posted by a Japanese Niken owner who had a local tuning shop tune the ECU on their Niken.

NIKEN(GT) 2018-2020 (main.jp)

The shop apparently specializes in Niken ECU tuning seeking comfort rather than power. The ECU tuning makes the following modifications:
  • Quick shifter can use from 2500rpm (instead of 5000rpm)
  • Cruise control can use from 2nd gear & 20km
  • Reduce the temperature at which the cooling fan starts operating changes fan start from 105 degrees celsius to 100 degrees Celsius
  • Full power and limiter release are secondary

I will be getting an ecu flash to adjust similar within the  present parameters just to tailor it to my needs .I've read other reviews that really feel it has unleashed the real performance of the niken by slicing it up a little especially if combined with a decat .From past experience on other machines when decated on standard pipe ,I have been pleasantly surprised by better fuel consumption across the board .

Yes, they are a supporting forum vendor.  Many forum members, myself included, have their flash.

I inquired whether they had ECU services for the Niken and they told me no that they do not at this time.

Considering a Booster Plug for simplicity but would like input from those that may have tried other options. Ease of installation and simple setup a priority. Also what difference it may have with stock versus aftermarket exhaust.

1. Booster Plug. https://www.boosterplug.com/shop/yamaha-800-900-73c1.html

2.Woolich Tuning. https://www.woolichracing.com/products/yamaha/niken/0/1074/2018-2020-yamaha-niken-log-box-d-can-zeitronix-zt-3-wideband-package.aspx

3. RapidBike Racing. https://www.bellissimoto.com/parts/fuel-management/RapidBike-Racing-Self-Adaptive-Fueling-Control-Module-Yamaha-niken-1

If more power is the goal, rather than just smoothing things out there is always this option. 😁
