  1. I have Corbin seat as well, it was more comfortable than the stock seat right out of the box, but after some miles, it really softens up and feels much better. The more I ride it, the more I like it.
  2. What speakers did you use? I tried using the speakers that come with the Sena, but they weren't very good. In the end, I take my Munitio ear buds and just plug them into the Sena for sound. They sort of double as ear protectors, although I know they aren't as good for ear protection as the Howard Leight ear plugs I used to use.
  3. Cool, I'm going to have to watch this tonight.....
  4. Ha! Ha! That's 375 lbs between both of us and most of that is me. My daughter is a petite young lady... :-)Good thing you clarified, if she ever saw that post, you would be toast!
  5. I'm not from Oklahoma, but welcome aboard, and congrats on the new bike!
  6. In CA our plates are reasonably thick durable aluminum, and last for many years. I suspect you would do some serious damage to a pen while trying to poke a hole through one. Unless it was a James Bond pen of course. ditto in Washington state, you couldn't put a hole in the plate without a drill or power tools. (or a big hammer and a punch)
  7. Be Warned! I purchased some magnets which were being sold out of vendor in China and the picture made them appear like they were about the size of a penny in diameter. When they showed up, they were about 1/8" diameter. I went back and looked at the original posting, and they didn't say anything wrong, but the picture was very misleading. Just be careful.....
  8. While I'm not an expert on motor oil, I did a fair amount of research before I switched to Rotella 6 on my FJ-09 and found that most of this was being generated by folks who aren't exactly experts in motor oil. Most people who have way more experience than I say that it is safe, and many use it on their bikes. I have been using Rotella 6 on my FJ-09 for a while and find it better than the YamaLube, but as always, your mileage may vary......
  9. Enough about the aesthetics, do you like the comfort of the seat?
  10. That's why I do my own maintenance, and wait until enough warranty repairs have been completed that I'm comfortable that they know what they are doing......
  11. I've been using Rotella 6 synthetic, and I'm pretty happy with it. Seems like things run a bit smoother, although I do replace the oil more often than they suggest, so it costs me more money. Overall I'm happy with it, and will likely continue using it.
  12. ...got a point there...we should never underestimate the power of 3,000+ people with opinions. It almost always works out. Sure, at least one of us will be right, the question is how to figure out who it is........
  13. How much of a difference did it make? thinking of sending mine back this winter....
  14. I thought that unless you were a premium member, you couldn't just upload images to the site. You have to use some other way to host the images like photobucket
  15. I use the Alpinestars Sierra Gore-Tex XCR Boots. look like regular boots people walk around in, and are very comfortable. Not as much protection as some of the other boots I considered, but I do a lot of things during the day other than ride, and having comfortable shoes that let provide some measure of protection was important to me.
  16. Love this idea, and I found a really cheap source for strong magnets: http://www.miniinthebox.com/20-pack-super-strong-rare-earth-re-magnets-8x1mm_p508685.html
  17. It's keyed to my ignition key. Factory equipment. Odd that they don't seem to be a part of the kit sold in the US. The Yamaha catalog has helmet locks for sale, but you're probably better off with the gun lock. Don't know why you're against taking off the seat to lock your helmet. I think it's a pretty good system and have used it often. I guess I could, and you are right, it's really not that bad. I'm just a bit miffed that they didn't install one like yours. I have had something like that on every bike I have owned, going back to 1979.
  18. that doesn't exist on my 2015 FJ-09, Although I wish it did.....
  19. There are two. One is on the left side of the bike, on the frame near the passenger foot peg. The other is a cable you can attach to a hook under the passenger seat. The cable is in the tool pouch. Are you calling that little triangle portion of the frame (left side near passenger foot peg) a helmet lock? If so, you need to go into marketing..... There is a cable that can be attached to a metal piece under the seat, but taking off the seat to lock my helmet doesn't really seem like a good option. I have been using a gun lock that comes free with any new gun purchase (looks like a padlock with an extended wire/metal cable that fits into the padlock portion to complete a loop) and I just wrap the cable around my helmet and one of the many "cable locks" I have on my frame supplied by Yamaha
  20. My average mpg is 45mpg, over the 2500 miles I have on the bike so far
  21. I was thinking there wouldn't be enough room for a proper sub woofer under the seat, and I wasn't quite sure how that would effect the feel of the seat.
  22. That thing is a bit too bulky, and takes up valuable real estate for gps/phone/etc. I think they should create two units which mount to the hand guards, to give you true stereo sound...... And mount the sub woofer to the top of the front forks
