  1. Yep, they have acknowledged the issue is theirs, and will fix it
  2. helmets fit differently, so trying it on is a must. If you are lucky enough to have a head shape similar to most of the population, you should be fine from a fit perspective. If you have a narrow or wide head, your choices (and brands) will be more limited. I have a long narrow head, and it's always a struggle to find helmets that fit well.
  3. My list: 1) Madstad Screen 2) Corbin Seat 3) ECU Flash 4) Mirror Extenders 5) Oil Pan screw replacement (At a minimum replace the plug with the Volkswagen version which is shorter) 6) Radiator Guard 7) Garmin 390LM GPS Suspension (adjustment or replacement) 9) Perfect Squeeze phone holder 10) Top Case 11) Grip Puppies
  4. I have had the 2015 FJ09, and the Madstad screen for 3 years. Couldn't be happier with that setup.
  5. Mine is always 1 mph fast, never seen anything else
  6. Welcome Bikerdup, a few things to consider, now that you are actually riding the bike. 1) Mirror extenders make all the difference in getting the stock mirrors usable, easy cheap mod 2) Seat is a known sore-point (no pun intended) I opted to purchase a Corbin seat, others have had good luck with Sargaent as well 3) A custom seat can be whatever color you want 4) Check to see that you have the seat in the lowest of the two settings. Look where the seat meets the rear of the tank, and make sure you are putting it in the lower of the two settings 5) Not sure about your brake, if it doesn't improve you might try bleeding the front brake lines Ignition location is a pain, no arguments from anyone about that Turn signals haven't been a problem for me, but they aren't the best looking I've seen for sure In the older 2015 model I have, you can clear faults from the display, seems like along the line, they decided to restrict this, that's a bit of a shame on Yamaha......., probably a lawyer driven decision though I removed the feeler peg after my first ride, don't need it, and it irritated me to no end. It was also the low point of the bike, If I remember correctly. Bike has a tendency to vibrate when new, most folks have experienced it smoothing out after a few miles...... Hope this helps, you can search on any of these issues, they are well documented on the forum, with lots of information about how folks tried to resolve them. Welcome and good luck!
  7. Love the red body work, but not the luggage, keep it black.......
  8. Me neither, I typically run with premium, but in the smaller towns where I ride, I'll fill with whatever I can get. Can't say I've noticed a difference I can attribute to the gas.
  9. I'm in Seattle, and I haven't seen one on the road, or even in a dealership
  10. Welcome to the forum, and if you get the FJ, you won't regret it...... Can't get off that thing without a smile on my face, even after owning it for over 3 years....
  11. Something to be said for spending a few minutes every 500 or so miles lubing your chain. Can't tell you how many times I have noticed things that needed to be tightened, fixed, or repaired while doing that one piece of maintenance. And it only takes a few minutes. Shaft drives are much easier, had one on an old Honda years ago. I know nothing about auto oilers, I'll let others weigh in on that......
  12. Where are you headed on your trip? A few of us are leaving after Labor Day for a week-long ride through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Oregon. - Lolo Pass, Beartooth Pass, Chief Joseph Highway, Bighorn Mountains, Tetons, Hell's Canyon area, etc. Your trip sounds more fun than mine. I'm riding with some folks I've met from my last few jobs. Not all of the participants like to ride very far each day. We are going from Kent WA to Leavenworth WA, roaming around the middle of Washington State, and back across Mt. Rainier to Kent. 3 days, with good company, but not the route I would have planned.
  13. Replaced the chain and sprockets at 16K Miles, getting ready for a multi day trip in about a week.
  14. hmmmm, I'm at 15K miles, and haven't had a problem with vibrations.
  15. I also got 10K on my original tires. What kind of riding do you do? and what are the road surfaces like where you ride?
  16. Poll to see how many folks are having issues with tight valves at their 26.6K Miles / 42K KM of Service
  17. Maybe we should do a poll and see how many folks with 20K+ miles had tight valves, and how many reached that 20K+ and theirs were ok? Seems like we are getting a variety of situations, so quantifying each might be helpful.
  18. Installed the R&G Racing Radiator Guard. Started getting worried about something hitting the radiator while riding, and figure this was cheap insurance. I cleaned the radiator best I could, and then proceeded to the install. Installation wasn't that hard, but the instructions were not very helpful. Took about 30 minutes, most of which was me scratching my head. It looks good, will test ride in the morning.........
  19. Yeah, I went to purchase some shop supplies for my bike yesterday (oil filter/brake fluid/crush washers) and the GT was right in front of the main entrance. You couldn't get into the dealership without walking right by it. I didn't ask the price either.........
  20. Changed the brake fluid, bled the brakes, and changed the oil.......
  21. Changed out the radiator fluid, and cleaned the radiator......... Re-installing the white overflow bottle was a pain in the ass, next time I think I will leave it installed and just use suction to get the fluid out and put fresh antifreeze back in. Next up is brake fluid
  22. Welcome aboard, and I hope you get your bike soon, summer is running out.......
  23. I have about 4K miles on my new Michelin PR5 tires (front and back) and I love them. Much better than the stock Dunlops, but cost ~ $500 installed
