  1. Take it to a dealer and see. If it needs replaced, it will be free. They swap the part.... leave the dealership and go on an epic ride. If it’s good to go... leave the dealership and go on an epic ride.
  2. I don’t believe that “most people” put in a manual tensioner.
  3. You will get a hundred different answers. I had good luck and gotten great use from the Dunlop roadsmart 3’s. Got 18,000 miles out of the last set on the FJ.
  4. I've been using those for almost 2 years. They're plenty beefy and I'm very satisified.
  5. Stuff like this is why I love the little nut on the end of K&N filters. Easy on easy off.
  6. Yeah i just grinded down one rivet and used the motion pro chain breaker. You don’t even need the breaker. A big flat screwdriver will pop that booger right off after a little grinding. I have the motion pro tool and have never used the breaker. Only used the riveter.
  7. Not sure I want to buck the trend here... I think I will abandon the dream and just get a rivet tool. Riveting the chain isn’t difficult. You could also just use one of these.... http://www.moto-chains.com/site/898528/product/mstr%20-%20screw
  8. My parts are still in transit. I was planning on buying a breaker/riveter kit most likely the Motion Pro kit. I didnt know Regina chains were hard to rivet. As far as breaking the old chain. I grind down the rivets with a Dremel and pop the plate off with a large screwdriver. Takes about 2 minuets.
  9. Your right about that. Had a great time, even done a few dirt roads. Just moved down to TWO @ suches. Lots of good roads there too.
  10. You’re just up the road from me. Have fun. There’s plenty of good riding around these parts.
  11. I saw another 9’er today ion US 411 in Tennessee. He was piloting the superior red variant. Which one of you was it?
  12. Beautiful down there, ain't it?Yes it is. I went with my Father in law. He’s 74 and I don’t know if he’s gonna ride to many more seasons. It was a blast and something I will always remember.
  13. New tires, new brake pads, and flushed the old brake fluid out. Now I gotta wash my dirty girl.
  14. Oh yeah... minor detail. How about [b style=color:rgb(252, 37, ]Your FJ with a mural, sculpture, or some other sort of roadside artwork Great challenge!
  15. Sigh... one day I will participate in this thread hahaha There’s no better time than right now....or tomorrow, yeah tomorrow would’ve better because you need to plan a little.
  16. Oh and as soon as I saw your challenge i changed my plans for the day. I had to ad a stop on my trip to town to get momma a gift for her day this Sunday and zip on over to the River.
  17. By golly. When I posted my challenge, take a wild guess as to which waterfall I had in my brain...?? Well done, good sir. Well done. PS... I'll be down there in ~3 weeks.... Happy to meet up @ DGMR / CRoT one day to chat. Would love to but I’ll be on a ship in the Caribbean. Have fun though
  18. Nice, very cool place it's like a jungle in there. It’s an hour from the house and there’s not a more beautiful place that I know of in the springtime. I spent a lot of time as a boy in Tellico. This thread has been an inspiration to me so far. Now..... Get out there and ride your FJ. Go see something.
  19. To encourage the touring part of having a fine sport touring machine, a recent pic of your FJ next to a “Welcome to <insert state or country here>” sign at least 1000 miles from your home.
  20. My long lost Ford Pinto, circa 1969! I always wondered what happened to that car That smoke is from the split second before the pinto burst into flames after being rear ended by the bike.
