  1. There are some super pix being posted these days, under different topic headings. A great trend - keep 'em coming!
  2. ... the dzell lights... don't get me wrong they are awesome they were just a royal PITA to install and wouldn't really be plug and play to remove and reattach.I'm a nerd when it comes to lectrical stuff, but found the D-Zell LEDS an easy task, and the installation instructions, including templates for the fastenings, made it a breeze. But we are all different. I highly recommend them... Later edit - I have to say that my D-Zells were of the running light only version, NOT incorporating indicators, which I'm sure I'd have found a challenge to install! My past Boxer twins had the BMW Can-Bus electronological system, which I called Can't-Bus, for there was no way in the world I'd have tinkered with that dastardly set-up!
  3. In a word - no! Sorry that I cannot be more precise with identifying the specific ones I bought (I had two different sets for two bikes) but experienced none of those issues.
  4. See link below, which will take you to an extensive range of brake and clutch levers in all colours for Tracers. Not having kept a record I cannot identify the exact ones I bought, but the levers were stamped somewhere discreet with 'FJ', from memory. You can see that on my second pic. I believe that I paid about AUD$40 or so for the pair. You should order them as both adjustable span and folding, for the best features. I found gold ones chimed nicely with the gold fork on the bike, with being OTT or too blingy... https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_vxp=mtr&_sacat=10063&_nkw=folding+levers+for+Yamaha+FJ-09+Tracer&_fosrp=1 I hope this assists...
  5. I've fitted several pairs of cheap-ish (about AUD$33 IIRC) E Bay levers to my late BMWs and Tracers. Having small hands, the six-position adjustability of both levers is a blessing, and I cannot understand why Yamaha would sell the bike with only the brake lever being span-adjustable. Cheap! One pair I fitted (first pic below) had an additional hinged 'fold-up' feature to do just that - fold-up instead of snapping off if the bike is dropped. Admittedly the Tracer hand-guards would probably prevent that happening, but it seemed a useful feature. Gold anodized ones go well with the solid 24-carat front fork too. The items looked good, performed well, and were totally trouble- and maintenance- and deterioration-free.
  6. My son is an ambulance paramedic whose patch includes long stretches of Freeway (Melbourne to Geelong and Western Freeways for fellow Aussies). He has had his fair share, or more, of scraping up wannabee racers from the tarmac. He once showed me a pair of photos of the palms of a rider who had come off while not wearing any gloves. Of course, the automatic reflex is to put the hands out to cushion the fall - the palms of the rider's hands looked as if they'd been through an industrial mincing machine. Would have taken years and untold ops and unbearable pain to restore his hands to anything like normal. Personally, I wouldn't even ride to the end of my drive without quality leather riding gloves...
  7. Thank you very much but I'd still like to see a pic/ diagram of the compressor.
  8. Not entirely sure what you mean by "what is the hose attached to". Obviously, one end attaches to the horn, and the other end attaches to the compressor. The hose is how the air gets from the compressor, to the horn. What I meant was - 'what is the hose attached to?' This is an entirely new device to me (I've previously fitted many a Stebel MAGNUM horn as a replacement for the squeaky-toy OE item) but would like to know how the Denali works. What powers the compressor? What does it look like? Where is it installed on the bike? Please...!
  9. Looks tasty, but woddizzit - has a Honda ST look about it, but hard to tell from this angle. Whatever - great!
  10. Here's my take on a pair of crossbar-mounted front LEDs, IMHO possibly a little more elegant than the OP's effort, but some will undoubtedly YMMV!
  11. I like those copper wheels! I assume you used masking-tape around the tyre edges and didn't take the tyres off?
  12. I'm all good for that fortunately, my bike is registered and insured in BC. You raise a good point about health insurance though, I'll have to see exactly how much I'm covered for in Alaska. Thanks for that. After much indecision I finally found a Canadian distributor for Seat Concepts and ordered a foam & cover kit. Kind of wanted to go for a Sargent but with the exchange rate and customs charges it would have been roughly twice the price. Anyone have any tips for installing the SC kit on the FJ seat pan? I have installed two (2) Seat Concepts kits (rider seat only), one their 'standard' replacement, the other their comfort 'touring' item. Extremely easy, and they do provide easy-to-follow instructions with the kit. First one I did with a hand-stapler - hard work although the finished job was quite OK. Second time I hired a robust electric stapler from a tool-hire shop, for $22. So much quicker and easier! It is easy - and suggested in the instructions - to do and undo then re-do the stapling if it goes a bit astray: the seat cover is very forgiving. Good luck.
  13. Im hoping the white robot suit is an optional accessory in the Yamaha catalog when the bike is released. I'm surprised that the (British) BBC hasn't slammed Yamaha for pinching their 'The Stig' persona from their 'Top Gear' motoring programme!
  14. I'll eat my words! Interest has now come in a great rush, with heaps of posts, some even on the topic of the Photo Game Thread! In a few days, 556 views of my initial post and 35 replies. New targets have included: bike pictured near a rusty bridge: near wind turbines and/ or a lighthouse: with an animal (the pic here was of a lake with a Loch Ness monster emerging): bike at a race-track: bike with a family member (who turned out to be a babe of about two years, if that)! Looks as if this game will add a deal of new topics, side-issues, and general hilarity to The Other Forum scene. Hats off to whoever thought of this game!
  15. Pinching the concept of this Thread, I tried to interest members on another biking Forum that I infest. No interest whatsoever so far. I'm thinking it might be a bit tricky for those guys!
  16. You must present an idea for someone to post a picture of.. OK, next target: bike (and if possible its rider) adjacent to/ overlooking a large body of water - lake, ocean, etc. NOT a small puddle left after cleaning the bike! LATER EDIT: Whoops - sorry! Reading back through this fun Thread I see that koth442 put up this target on April 28th. But maybe leave it in anyway...?
