FYI for everyone looking to purchase Givi products through Motostorm.it I emailed Givi requesting assistance with the engine guard issue mentioned above and this was their response: They can't help because I didn't purchase it in the USA. Seems like a weird rule as it's clearly a genuine Givi product and Givi is an Italian company, and I ordered it from Italy On another note, the Givi rear rack (SRA2159) I ordered was engineered beautifully and fit my '22 Tracer perfect as expected

Ordered the Givi gaurds from Motostorm on 08/2/23, shipped 10/3/23, arrived 10/9/23 I've usually had good experiences with Motostorm but this time they showed the Givi guards as in stock ready to ship. This turned out to delay the entire order for a couple months. Not a huge deal until... Had some free time today to install the parts and found the right side engine guard does not align properly - not even close. Following the provided directions, I loosely installed the lower left section of the right side guard, and the top right mounting locations are way off. I had to uninstall it and box it back up. Waiting to hear back from Givi and Motostorm. Has anyone here had first hand experience with the Givi guards on a '22 Tracer? ( Givi TN2159B )

Front signal options ‘22 Tracer 9 GT
slownsteady replied to kingfisher's topic in FJ-09 Tech Questions
Hi did you ever find a solution? My front left signal has been pulled out of place a couple times now while parked A nice after market solution or a different, more reasonably priced OEM part? -
Thanks for your feedback Skip! Appreciate it. I ended up using the entire harness from Clear Water to install the Darla lights. I wanted to try to make the installation as minimalist as possible by wiring the lights directly to the AUX connectors, but as you pointed out the rating for the lights was at the max amperage for those circuits with 2amp fuses. The Clear Water harness included everything needed for the installation. I installed the relay on the right side of the instrument cluster brace, and ran the power terminals back to the battery. The most time consuming parts were self imposed: using heat shrink crimps instead of the supplied PosiLock connectors, fishing the wiring under the gas tank, adding loom protection and heat shrink to the harness, and adding the connector for the left side AUX for the AC/on instead of tapping a headlight wire with a PosiLock. Also making sure the wiring didn't impede turning at full lock was a pain. I opted to not connect the horn and highbeam wires (flash on full bright with horn, or turn to full bright with high beams).

My old 2015 FJ09 on a road trip from San Francisco to Oregon. Pic was taken near Eureka, CA And my new Tracer 9 GT Sold my FJ09, tried a few different bikes (CB1000R, R1200GS, Versys) and came back to the FJ09/Tracer. Great bike.

I have a similar question / issue... Can I use the OEM connector under the left side fairing ('22 Tracer GT) to power ClearWater Darlas? They're rated at a "max" of 2 amps. I figure if I run one light per connector, I should be right at the limit. Can anyone give some more feedback regarding powering AUX lights with these connectors? Thanks in advance

Fitted new Seat Concepts Touring seat...
slownsteady replied to wordsmith's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
For whatever it's worth... I placed an order for a Seat Concepts kit for the FJ and ran into an issue with shipping delays. The company is amidst a relocation from California to another state and advised the order would be delayed a couple weeks. I requested cancellation and they were not only prompt with replying but also were very courteous and positive overall. I can't attest to the product itself or the post purchase customer support, but for a brief dealing I'd say they rank in line with what is expected in today's "the customer is always right" culture. -
The Givi 2122s Ordered it from Motostorm - delivered from Italy in about one week. The screen is great so far. It did require adjustment of the mirrors to avoid touching at full lock. The other concern is the warning sticker that came on the screen: "do not exceed 80mph and do not leave parked in the sun." Apparently this screen may melt your dash. I've had zero problems with it over the past 1k miles. Highly recommend this screen.

clutch basket noise at idle and low rpm
slownsteady replied to com3's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
Thanks for the info. I searched the FZ09 forum for insight on this issue and didn't find anything definitive. Do you have a link to a thread with specific info for a fix? If it's as simple as adding a spring that would be excellent. Otherwise it looks like we are SOL -
clutch basket noise at idle and low rpm
slownsteady replied to com3's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
Anyone have more info on this issue? My '15 started getting noisy at idle with the clutch out. Sounds exactly like my former '07 SV1000S which was a defective clutch basket design that caused rattling at idle. -
The 12 step how to: replace FJ-09 oil pan
slownsteady replied to com3's topic in FJ-09 Tech Tips/How to's
did you have an "uh-oh"? Haven't ripped the oil pan apart just yet... however I did already scrape the exhaust over a few curbs. The same curbs my FZ6 used to handle without any issues. -
What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?
slownsteady replied to yamaham's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
Damn. Well I hope they're better than that as I plan to use them for my daily commute. -

Afrer reading all the feedback on this site, I ordered a slider kit from T Rex. Also ordered some Motocentric bags from motorcycle superstore after reading about the closeout. Thanks for all the good info! -
