  1. And when you say ... it's really cheap .... what sort of dollars are we talking? The only link I could find was for the Tuneboy CC and ECU tune package that was ~AU$450. Is that the amount you're referring to?
  2. That's very kind of you 🙂 4500km ride... wow. How long is that planned to take you? Getting in before the Cyclones whip up eh? Good thinking.
  3. The following is a direct quote (extract) from the Tuneboy site:- It will be interesting if an email comes back that says it will resume?! On the face of it, it seems like an elegant, if not perfect, solution for adding Cruise Control without having to add anything substantial to the bike. I'm like many here who would be happy with just the CC option alone. It would also be interesting/informative to see a video or some kind of review of this in action on an actual Tracer. @Therealal interested? 🙂 Having said all that I do however like the McCruise solution as it seems the most tested and complete and behaves more like a traditional CC. But it does require extra parts and cabling and is more expensive. Interesting....
  4. They really are a beautifully made seat by the looks of your photos. The attention to detail is right up there and I for one do like the look/styling. The blue stitching for your next seat... yes you'll be getting it 🙂 ..... will work a treat with your GT's colour scheme. I think I'm going to have to get one for my 2015 Tracer iteration! As I've mentioned previously, I've had 3 goes at getting my original seat 'right' but have never been really happy with the end results. Hmmm... temptations! When in doubt, straight to the horse's mouth is the way to go. Good luck.
  5. Yes I'm keen to hear how your flash new suspension shapes up on a more serious ride as well. Lets hope the state isn't still on fire by then and you can see through the smoke! ☚ī¸ I've had a play with that 'configerateur' myself and have to say it's almost annoying due to the mountain of options! 'I just want milk that tastes like real milk' - with less than 2% crap.... if you make the connection 🙂
  6. Or maybe they've simply changed the seat style from the original. Here's another EU site that reflects that part number.
  7. OK?? That's good news but all very confusing as that is the part number (5372Z) quoted & can be seen in the image in the Silverstone ad I posted earlier that had the seat that looked like it wasn't the one for the 2019 GT?! Who knows, maybe they just got the photo wrong or it wasn't available at the time of listing the ad?! Anyway, your supplier/contact should have the good oil.
  8. I did wonder hence the question marks in my sentences. I did notice that that same part number (5372Z) on another site only mentions the 2018 GT.... are they different in the seating between 18-19? Anyway, should have known it would be too good to be true from all I've read so far regarding availability of the new product. Ha! You could be their Aussie liaison procurement man on the ground! Fantastique! In reference to the bush fires - yes, the closest bush fires are a little North of me ATM but it's a bit of a worry as you know. I'm on an acreage with trees around and rely solely on tank water. The tanks are about half full ATM because it's been so dry and so that's another concern. It was very ordinary yesterday with that strong gusting S/Wester blowing a gale. Certainly didn't help those up in the Peregian area. I'm just a little bit nervous with a forecast of strong Southerlies today! It is what it is and this is Australia after all. Just got to be vigilant and prepared as much as possible. Thanks for asking. 👍 🙂
  9. Ah OK re Silverstone. Motostorm was another I was going to mention but you are all over it, as they say. 🙂 I see that the local distributor is using one of your earlier glowing posts in their advertising for the Bagster products! I reckon that should qualify you for a free sample of the new seat you seek.... of course just for testing and reporting for them! 😉
  10. @wordsmith Is this what you are wating for? - SILVERSTONE MOTOR It's showing as suitable for 2019 GT?
  11. If anyone's interested... Chromeburner has got 15% off Bagster seats ATM. Stock may be limited but seems like good value?!
  12. Is there any need to check/adjust wheel balance with these things installed? .... or are they really too light to create any real issue? Just curious.
  13. EDIT:- Just found your post from back in July that refers to the subject that answers my questions. 🙂
  14. I would have to agree with you, just looking at your photos alone, that they are made to a very high standard. And yes the red piping and lettering does make it look that little bit more classy. Out of curiousity, what made you choose the BAGSTER over all of the others makes that are out there? Did you have the opportunity to test ride one first or just go on recommendations? Also did you choose a low seat or standard? Cheers and thanks again.
  15. Well done wordsmith! I didn't expect you to get back with a review quite so soon considering the ones and zeros of your PC were up to hijinks! Nice collection of pics there as well. Just from your photos I can see that the RD workshop is very orderly, neat and tidy. That usually speaks volumes of how things operate within a business. That rear sag measuring device is very flash! Looks like it would give accurate and very repeatable measurements when compared to using a tape measure. Can I assume that 37mm, as displayed, was your final sag measurement front and rear? Had a chuckle at the following quote. 🙂 While you have done a major upgrade in one hit I am 'fortunate' to have split my cost by having the front shocks upgraded (Andreani) a couple of years back which I had done in a suspension shop as I too didn't have the tools (or courage) to attack that job. I'm happy to do the rear shock though as that seems relatively straight forward and there are several 'You Tubes' on how to do it. This is the part I'm particularly intrigued about:- As we are almost identical weight wise and I'm assuming riding style wise, what did Mr. Salter from RD do with the rear shock spring ? Did he change it out or was it left as the standard issue stock 95N spring? I too very much like to flat foot as much as possible and the fact that there is height adjustment with the Razor R is a real bonus. Did Joe adjust the front to compensate for the rear being lowered do you know? i.e. raise the forks through the triple clamps? And yes the Gen 1 seat. I've had work done on mine three times now to try and reshape it to my liking! The final iteration is 'OK' but not OK if you know what I mean. Before I started that journey I baulked at the high cost of aftermarket seats but in retrospect should have gone down that path as I've probably paid that, and then some, and still not entirely satisfied. Sounds like you loved your 1st BAGSTER. I'm tipping that you will succumb to the fond memories of the original and there will be another one on order before too long. 🙂 Anyway, thanks very much for your feedback on this exercise. I for one certainly appreciate it. Cheers.
  16. Huzzah! Firstly, commiserations over the death of your PC followed by congratulations that it has once again risen from the ashes like the proverbial phoenix and secondly for the roller coaster ride that I went on when I read the following part of your experience with the new install.... OK so at the end of the day you are clearly pleased with the result. Excellent! I now look forward to your detailed 'full report'! I assume you will be posting that over on your GT supension improvements thread? Cheers and congrats.
  17. @wordsmith any news? Don't mean to harass you but I'm like a kid at the window of the lolly shop stepping from foot to foot hoping for a free sample! 🙂 Did you have the work done on Tuesday? Is it that you are doing a thorough test before posting your findings?! Sorry....I'll leave you alone now.......
  18. I too had the dreaded 'numb hands/fingers' issue a couple of years back and tried heavier bar ends which didn't help too much if at all. Then I added thicker padded hand grips - so called 'pussy grips' - yes insulting I know - to see if that made any difference but they didn't! Then I came across some information about the possibility of vibration being induced from the throttle bodies being out of sync. What's this all about I thought!? Long story short, I invested (relatively cheaply) in a vacuum tool from Carbtune based in Ireland, went ahead and tuned/synced my carbs with it and haven't looked back. My results showed that my carbs were slightly out of sync which I adjusted and at that stage I was sceptical that it would make any difference but after putting everything back together ..... vibrations were gone! So much so that I removed the heavy bar ends and put back my light bling aluminium bar ends. I left the spongy grips on only because I was too lazy to remove them but certainly could have done so. I have not suffered from the numb hands since... seriously. I can provide some details of the tool and a before and after video of my pre and post carb sync if anyone's interested. I think "Two Wheel Obsession" on You Tube had a good tutorial video on it a few years ago if you're interested in researching. If you've tried everything else to get rid of the vibrations then this might be worth considering.
  19. @wordsmith @betoney As mentioned I went ahead and contacted K-Tech Australia in an attempt to clear up the gear on OR gear off weight issue for spring selection. I just received an emailed reply from the K-Tech suspension business development manager and have included the 'guts' of it for your perusal. Surprised me a bit I must admit! Actually, is 93N/mm correct for the standard shock for a 2015 Tracer? I thought it was 99.9N/mm? Anyway, I'll be real interested to see what Ride Dynamics do for you tomorrow wordsmith!
  20. Thanks for the feedback @jdavis. Looks like another thumbs up for Ride Dynamics.
  21. Thanks Chester. I think the guy that wordsmith is getting to do his work for him (this Tuesday - 3rd Sept!) is in fact a K-Tech dealer here in Australia so he should have all the guff that I seek. I am however going to call the K-Tech Australian distribution site as they have a customer enquiry call number advertised and see what they have to say in the interim. I appreciate your input though and could always shoot off an email to the USA site if these other avenues aren't 'fruitful'. Although I have a feeling that wordsmith's upcoming install will be the most informative in the short term. Thanks again.
  22. Great minds think alike! I had checked out his website after reading your posts elsewhere about your positive preliminary experience at his work shop and may well consider doing just that. I will stay tuned and thanks for the offer of some feedback. I should say that there are a couple of reputable suspension guys up my way as well so will consider all options after I hear how you go. Cheers.
  23. I look forward to your findings wordsmith. From all accounts I'm reasonably confident that there will be no wailing after the upgrade. I recall when I did my front forks the difference was immediate and very noticeable - all in a good way! All good points betoney. I'd forgotten that the K-tech Razor R has a length/height adjustment (10mm overall -3/+7 for the Tracer) so yes that would work. I'd previously installed the lowering dog bones on the bike and have already raised the front shocks through the triple clamps the equivilent amount so there will be some room to play there I guess. Your suggestion about going to a reputable suspension place is sound and that's what I'll do when the time comes I think. That should remove all of my doubts if a pro sets it up. I'm looking forward to wordsmiths experience with his upcoming install! Thanks for your words of wisdom and experience.
  24. Thanks betony, and yes I agree that it should be in riding gear as that is what logic would suggest. However the Race tech site e.g. specifically says when it comes to entering rider weight for spring choice : "Rider weight(without gear)". So I don't know anymore. My Andreani preload is on the higher side (wound in) with the correct sag dialed in which was also making me wonder if my spring choice originally was on the slightly too light side. If I understand things correctly, if the spring choice is correct, preload should ideally be wound almost all the way out to give just a bit of static sag and then the correct sag with rider on board to get maximum use out of your spring/s. I believe there are other factors to consider, riding style, individual nuances for rider feel/comfort, etc but I believe that is generally the rule? Further to this they need to be the same front and back if you want a 'flat' bike geometry. i.e. if I end up needing the rear to be a heavier spring than what I have in the front I'll end up with a higher front end as I'll have more pre load in (at the front) which will increase the nose height. (chopper style geometry). If it turns out that I need the heavier spring for the shock I might have to change out the front springs to match $$! I'm learning as I go and no expert so feel free to correct me if I'm off the mark or expecting too much. Anyway I had already written, twice now, to ask the question of the distributor of the shock before I asked here but to date have been met with stoney silence. Perhaps they don't know themselves! I'll try the K-tech people themselves now and see what they reply with. Gotta be in riding gear surely! Hi wordsmith, yes your first sentence sums it up you'd think......but??? However, and for obvious reasons, I'll be super keen to hear your experience/results of the fit out that is being done by a suspension professional if you don't mind sharing the info. If he doesn't know, no one does! Same shock AND coincidentally same weight. ..hmmm, same weight, Aussies, Queenslanders.... clearly thoroughbreds! 😎😉😋 Cheers and thanks.
  25. Hi all, I'm wanting to change out my stock rear shock on my 2015 Tracer for a K-tech Razor R and wanted to ask what might be an obvious question to most but I personally am unsure. When ordering there are questions as to what type of riding you intend it for (track, street, touring, etc) and a weight range to choose from. It's the weight choice that I'm unsure of. Is it simply my weight in normal clothes or riding gear? I would have thought in riding gear but I have read (somewhere?) that it is in normal clothes as the supplier takes that into consideration?! I'm 78kgs - normal clothes and near 85Kgs in full riding kit. Of course the selections are 70/80kgs then 80/90kgs etc. I'm not a track rider or even an aggressive street rider (I'm 'old' now!) so was wondering if I should be looking at the lighter spring anyway?! The more I read the more confused I'm getting about the subject. I should add that a few years ago I replaced/upgraded the front forks with an Andreani kit and selected the 'touring'; 70/80Kg spring option then (I was 74-75Kgs then) and they seem to have served me well. Should I be sticking with that option for the rear now anyway because of that choice for the front? Any words of wisdom are appreciated - other than lose some weight or sell the bike 😉 Cheers.
