Cruizin
Someday, some guy or gal with an FJ-09 is gonna just say phuck it, sell their stuff, put some in Storage, kiss their loved one's goodbye and take off on an epic adventure and post their pics and stories here, as a journal. And we will all get addicted to logging in and reading said ride report daily, living that adventure thru our internet connections. That's what this board is about, your week or longer ride reports. And, I am so looking forward to these. The FJ-09 is perfect for long trips to Alaska, South America or just across our country. While the suspension isn't set up for dirt, it is a hell of alot lighter than a 700 lb "loaded to the gills" BMW or the like. And light is good. Dream on, FJ-09 owners, and share your trips and planned trips here. Ask for ideas, share your route plans, gear lists and more importantly, the life that you chase on the road. Who will be first? deersSlayer
Not quite badazz, I've got a 5-6K km 16 day trip planned starting May 2 (exercise the heated grips?) Ottawa ON indirectly down to Little Switzerland NC (GREAT roads around there) to meet with about 30 TriDoD riders. Then 1 day going South to Deal's Gap, before heading back North to Glen NH to meet with about 40 - 50 NEDoD riders. After that, 1 longish day back home on Sunday May 17. Lots of twisty roads planned! And late summer hopefully a 2-3 week trip through upstate NY, VT, NH, ME, the Canadian Maritimes provinces, Quebec, and meeting 40 - 50 NEDoD riders at the Canadian Assault north of Montreal. I carried over a bunch of vacation days from last year, I have 29 days this year - so just over 6 weeks because my vacation weeks include 2 stat holidays. Should be a good FJ-09 riding year. :-) Hope to get a few long weekends on my next purchase too: 2015 KTM 690 Enduro R! Come on Spring! I've got serious PMS and winter's just begun (Parked Motorcycle Syndrone.) FJ-09, 690 Enduro R. Back Roads. Period.
FigJam-OhNine
I'm beginning to plan a late spring trip. I live in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island. We have amazing riding here. I have been told by those In the know that it's like riding the entire west coast, but condensed into 500km. It's amazing, but I am getting the itch to try the real thing, so, I'm starting to plan a trip to visit friends in San Francisco. My brother lives in Seattle, so I'd take the Port Angeles ferry and head to visit him, them hit the Oregon coast and stay by the water all the way down. Haven't decided if I'll go farther than San Fran. I don't know anyone south of there, and riding alone much farther than that is a bit risky. Never done a trip like that, so I don't want to push it. Did you do the Sparks Nv run at the Western Village Inn casino last summer with the FJRs? I was there. Rode with Marty (0Face), he was a hoot and a great rider.
