A few farkles added.
Jeepinoutwest, can you confirm if the oil pan drain plug has been moved to the side from the bottom of the pan on the 2015? I've heard conflicting reports on this. I have a 2015 matte gray on hold but I'd rather have the 2016 is this problem has been fixed. Thanks in advance!
There is no guarantee that any 2016 bike will have the new oil pan - there are plenty of reports of the new colour bikes being delivered with the old style oil pan. It's a case of looking at the bikes in stock and checking. In another thread, someone posted that he has to wait until April before a bike with the new oil pan arrives. Whether this is a firm cut off date or just a dealer hoping to get an order with cheery optimism is another thing...
This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is.

Does the new side drain plug oil pan fit on 2015 bikes? If yes, how much does it cost? If it's less than the difference between a 2015 and a 2016....

The new oil pan will fit the 2015. I did it last month. The drain plug is at the front not the side and not the bottom. Oil pan and gasket can be had for less than $150. Swap can be done in about 2 hours. Look at the thread on replacing oilpan for details on install and parts source.

Turn that sad face into a smilly face and get a Higdonion Cage for the bike.  :)
It may cost a little more, but will add so much in return.  More weight (12-14 lbs low), skid plate to protect the bottom of the engine and exhaust header, coolness.  Easy access to drain plug.  You are almost half way there in terms of cost, but then I can see that cost is no issue (so many bikes in so little time).

None I can see. I wonder if the CCT was changed. I heard a rumor it was on the 2016 FZ-09.

Thanks. The dealers here aren't discounting the last of the 2015's and I prefer to matte gray but didn't want to miss out on any 2016 changes if there were any.
