  1. YEah, this is VERY different from any vehicle warranty in the past where material defects are ALWAYS covered. I find this hugely concerning. If manufacturers go this route warranties will become entirely useless.
  2. This ought to be interesting. To me this looks like material failure and Yamaha's answer sounds really sketchy. I think I saw another T9Gt transmission failure thread somewhere last year. https://www.facebook.com/groups/405696997251560/posts/1018925415928712/
  3. For sale - My one month old 500 mile Dominator HP8 EX Black system - 99% like new. I paid $780 for it Asking $650 including shipping to the lower 48 High res pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/1HM2U5P
  4. AS far as my experience any OBD tool can reset the codes in a Euro4 and Euro5 ECU.
  5. 2022 Tracer 9 GT - the ONLY screen that works for me (6'6" tall)is the MRA Vario Touring. It is a fantastic screen.
  6. The faster I go the more the speedo is off. Actually worse than mechanical speedos of yore.
  7. I have a Dominator HP8 EX in black for sale. I paid $785. $650 shipped in the lower 48. 99% like brand new. Detailed pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/1HM2U5P
  8. I have a Dominator system for the T9GT for sale. New, but I can't find a New Topic button in the classifieds. Why?
  9. Dunno what you paid, but the Dominator system is pretty much exactly the same and probably costs a third of the Yoshi
  10. HJC F70 no contest! I bought it for $210 at FC-Moto incl. shipping to the US.
  11. Absolutely!! Was thinking the same thing ... and an oiler is still the best option to reduce chain wear.
  12. Interesting accessory for those wanting to reduce lubricant sling. They are 3D Printed. Cost for US customers is EUR 50 + EUR 10 S&H to US address. https://www.snoto.de/en/motorrad-kettenschutz-2/
  13. Good luck Yamaha selling these in the US! The major issue with this model will be the price point for what you get and how close it is to the next class up. Pricing will be almost $2k more than a standard Tracer GT and $3 k more than a Suzuki GSX-S GT+. Plus with the 2024 price increase to surely follow, the GT+ will creep above $17k! Looking at 2023 EU pricing (attached; 2023 Tracer 9GT+ is EUR 16,899 list in Germany) plus the annual price increase of around 300 to 400 dollars for the 2024 model is where the 2024 version will launch in the US. For me to be competitive at this price Yamaha would have to amp up the engine to around 150 hp, which I think they could easily do, and I would consider it. With the current drivetrain that price is no bueno for me. Yamaha already has a really difficult time selling all the Tracers in the US market as it is and I think once you get into that price class it would be even harder.
  14. So ... I bought a few more DB killers from Dominator (One hard and two medium) and did my own testing. WARNING: YOu can only install the hard DB killer if you cut off the end cap at the DB killer inlet! Otherwise it will at least melt your carbon cap and maybe more! My first mod was to take my medium DB killer and cut the tube out of it leaving just the constriction at the mounting flange but NO tube. This is my favorite combination. Great sound and no more drone than with the unmodified medium DB killer! You have to use a Dremel cutting wheel and cut the weld off from the outlet side to give it a smooth opening! The tube is just inserted into the DB killer flange and then TIG welded from the outlet side. Cut that weld from the inside of the tube with a dremel cutting wheel, then smooth and polish it and you get a perfect venturi opening and no obstacles or sharp edges. This is by far my favorite way to eliminate drone and get great sound that is much better than with the intact medium DB killer. My next favorite would be the hard DB killer with the tube block-off cut-off.
  15. Yamaha did not supply their dealers with any sufficient bikes last year ... that is until about September when they began flooding dealers with bikes. I bought my 22 T9GT from a dealer who ahd gotten 7 tracer GT in September and who was fearful he had to carry them all winter (I think Yamaha floor plan only covers one month interest, then the dealers have to pay the interest). He discounted them by $3000 off of list (plus fees). 3 sold right away including me buying one at $12,249 plus taxes and fees. He then raised the price of the remaining 4 to 13,988 and didn't sell a one for two months. He again lowered the price to 12,988 and sold three in Jan. and Feb. He still has one left at that price now. I am on good terms with our local dealers. The new Tracer is not selling well in the US; much better in Europe. THere are tons of '22s and even some new '21 on the market. Yamaha announced earlier that they had no plans to introduce the T9GT+ in the NA markets. But at the price of that one I would never be interested. Yamaha pulls these kind of stunts. In 1982 they bankrupted 50% of their US dealers by forcing them to order the entire annual supply they wanted in the fall of 1981. Then the economy turned down and bike sales dried up. Dealers were still forced to take them or pay a 3% cancellation in cash right there. THis resulted in the elimination of 50% of their dealers in one year (!) after which Yamaha took their business to other brand dealers and really created the multi brand dealerships we see today.
  16. Ryan ay Fortnine is one of my favorite YT MC channels. He has a good review on these vests and has always an honest and pragmatic perspective on any topic
  17. If id be in the market for a capable travel enduro I'd get the Husqvarna 901 Norden
  18. I got seriously annoyed with the late clutch engagement of the standard clutch lever and its lack of adjustability so I fitted a set of Evotech. Fantastic kit!!
