APS part number for the 2015 FJ09 = 1MC-85884-00-00 TPS part number for the 2015 FJ09 = 13S-85885-00-00 my question is why are they different part numbers? it APPEARS as though they're the same part with different numbers... also, that same part looks to be the same part as the R6, R1, FJR, and all the 09 makes/models. can anyone verify this info? is the APS and TPS interchangable? thanks!

Accelerator Position Sensor (APS) Adjustment
com3 replied to piotrek's topic in FJ-09 Tech Tips/How to's
The problem arose before ever doing valves and throttle bodies. It's had this issue for over 10,000 miles. -
High Idle that Doesn't Go Away...
com3 replied to oldfart's topic in FJ-09 Known issues and solutions
I was really hoping there was a resolution to this... I too have the 2500rpm high-idle-hang that happens at random. If I cycle the key, it fixes it. If I wait it out, it usually fixes itself after a minute or two. -
Accelerator Position Sensor (APS) Adjustment
com3 replied to piotrek's topic in FJ-09 Tech Tips/How to's
oh, i read that before i posted. i'm not a n00b. (with forums OR wrenching) i adjusted the APS the other day.... changed values to 15/14 on diag 14/15 respectively. no notches on roll-on anywhere in the diag (not to say there isn't an ohms issue [that i don't have a tool for])... surging issue still exists. just gonna do it the old fashion way and throw 80 bucks at a freshie and swap em out. *le sigh* -
Accelerator Position Sensor (APS) Adjustment

I've been having a lurch issue on my bike the last 10k miles. Did valves, throttle body synch, etc... Basically, when I go from 50%+ throttle to 0%, it'll sometimes throw a little extra fuel in and surge forward very briefly. Sometimes, if I pull the clutch in when it's having that issue, it'll have a sustained high idle (even well after being fully warmed up) at about 2500rpm. If I cycle the key, it'll go back to normal idle... Usually it'll just correct itself in a minute or two. The problem has been intermittent...lots of times one ride, no times another ride... Sometimes I'll go from 0% throttle to 5% throttle and nothing will happen at all for about 1 second, then POW, it feels like 15% throttle. I suspected TPS/APS...using your diog info on here, it looks as though there are no flat spots, no jumps in numbers... My stock 14 numbers are 17-101 (on the high end of what this thread says it's stock). 15 is 16-100. I'm back to being baffled again...should I just buy new tps/aps ? -
Mine will sometimes have a high idle too...like, 2200rpm. Sounds like that's in issue! Thanks!
-
What ever happened? Tps the culprit?
-
I haven't checked mine yet, but in assuming this is my issue as well... While riding hard, occasionally I'll go from 50% or more throttle to 0% and the bike will surge/hiccup while slowing as if the throttle had been opened up again briefly. It's driving me crazy. I'm guessing a faulty APS or TPS.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm Joe. Can you post a picture of the catalog? I freggin love my aerostich. Definitely the best street gear I've ever owned (and I've even had a klim badlands suit). -
no trouble codes. it's done it for at least 20 tanks of fuel. i'll check the hoses when i get a chance... the tank had NEVER been off prior to when it started doing it... the tank has since been off twice since it started surging. 38K miles, 2015.

valves and throttle body synch done recently. it was surging before and after.
-
Anyone ever have surging issues? When romping around, several times per ride lately, I'll go to 0% throttle and I'll get a small hiccup that surges forward a little bit. I've also noticed that I'll pull over, clutch in, and I'll have a high idle at times as well too...sitting around 2k rpm. Once, about a week ago, I went from 0% throttle to 5% throttle and it almost felt as if the engine died for about 1 second before responding to my throttle input. Thoughts?

This was while not even riding aggressively... 100% due to terrible suspension: The 12 Step How to Replace the FJ09 Oil Pan – 4theriders

@betoney I'm in norcal all the time. Currently I'm at Laguna Seca raceway...Weds I'll be in Sacramento...this weekend I'll be at Oregon raceway park...next weekend I'll be at Pacific raceways in Washington...after that back to norcal for a week or two

The stock suspension isn't even adequate for me alone @ 225lbs. It's terrible. You're looking at around $1500 for a decent setup.

2016 FJ 09 Oil Capacity Question
com3 replied to nhchris's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
no biggie...if you over fill it, it'll spooge out excess into your air box for safe keeping later. -
of all the bikes i've ever owned, the FJ has the LEAST amount of ground clearance. i feel like i start hitting hard parts at about 30 degrees of lean. it's gotten better over time, as i've worn out most of my center stand. haha.

what the heck is a "damped sprocket"? in my 28 years of riding motorcycles, this is a term i've NEVER heard before. -
post your most bad ass FJ/tracer IN ACTION photos! 1 - wheelie down the corkscrew at laguna seca 2 - little blurp on hwy 36 in northern california 3 - "gotta let the photosgrapher know you know he's there" at the ridge motorsports park in washington 4 - this bike was made to be on one wheel. i THINK that's hopland grade in norcal...i don't remember.

99% of the riding i've done in the last 2 years (even on the racetrack) is 2 up with my girlfriend. i'm 6'3 225lbs and she's 5'7 130lbs... stock springs on the FJ DO NOT cut it. i put a penske shock on the rear set up for 460 lbs (i always have a top case on and i ride like a damned hooligan)...i needed it stiff. i also put stiffer springs up front and revalved the forks.

What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?

My personal experience says "highly disagree". -

Honestly, I turn tcs off every single time I start the bike. The few times I've actually had it on (two up at the track in the rain), it feels very rudimentary when it kicks in. There's definitely a delay. It's not refined like bazzaz units or whatever on race bikes that I ride all the time. Also, in slow speed nasty conditions (lots of water on the ground or dirt or ice), the tcs is actually detrimental. I almost pitched it away while two up when a flash flood of 6 inch deep water/hail came down hwy 4 over the Sierra Nevada while doing 15mph around a steep uphill hair pin. Tcs caused the motor to stall completely. I had to put both feet down, front tire locked, and slid backwards about 15ft to the edge of the road by the cliff before I got it stopped.
