  1. A friend had tickets and pit passes at Homestead Miami Speedway from friends. So we spent the afternoon watching them try to dial in the #35 Mustang. After that we went into the Keys for crabcakes at Alabama Jack's. About 160 miles round-trip.

  3. Death Valley in the summer? Hard pass. ๐Ÿ˜จ
  4. Double dog dittos.๐Ÿ‘ CC and heated grips. I have RA and those really help me out. YMMV

  8. Great deal on those side cases. Bumping for the deal!
  9. Having 160hp and using it are totally different things. ๐Ÿ˜€ It probably goes from oh boy to oh shit in a hurry.๐Ÿ˜จ It's going to be a while before it's in my hands. It will be in Murfreesboro TN. until I can pick it up sometime in July.
  10. It's in addition to the FJ not a replacement. A toy to ride around on and look cool and pretend that I'm fast. ๐Ÿ˜€
  11. Just put a deposit on a 2010 Honda VFR1200F. Fingers crossed Honda VFR1200F - Wikipedia
  12. It's like verything else in life. Good days, bad days, mediocre days all come with the territory. Be alert but not scared. Scared people often do the wrong things. Be aware of the vehicles around you and what they might do in an emergency. Are you in their blind spot? Do you have room to get out of their way? Pay attention to the type and general condition of the vehicles around you. Never follow a construction vehicle or trailer. All kinds of things fall off of them. Is the vehicle next to you/in front of you a POS? Find a way to put space between you. Do your best to not stay behind a vehicle you can't see around. Full size pick-up's, SUV's, van's. Get someplace where you can see down the road. Cel-phone drivers. Never ever stay near a person driving while on their cel. They are clueless and may run you over without ever knowing. It may seem like a lot to worry about, but the more you do it the more second nature it becomes, until you are doing it without realizing it. If your commute takes you along a limited access highway a way to protect yourself is travel in the lefthand or HOV lane. If you are in the far left lane your area of immediate concern is only 180* not 360*. I ride pretty fast so vehicles coming up on me in the lefthand lane doesn't happen a lot, but when it does I get out of the way and after they pass fall in behind them. Also motorcycles are allowed in the HOV lanes everywhere in the USA. As aways YMMV Can A Motorcycle Ride In The HOV/Carpool Lane? | Motorcycle Habit
  13. I live in South Florida weather is pretty mild year round, only a couple cool days a year. I didn't like the wind input on them at highway speeds. My opinion was the turbulence from surrounding vehicles (and there are a lot of them here) induced a bit of a weave, not a wobble, jus a small bit of steering input. So I ditched them and put some Sato Racing SS bar ends on. Happy as a clam since. YMMV
  14. โ˜๏ธ This is fact. None of the dealers near me (Ft. Lauderdale - Miami) have a lot of stock, used is nonexistent. Dealers who have buildings you could put an AirBus 380 in have 20 bikes in it. Go on cycle trader. People are asking $1,500 - $2,000 over KBB or NADA for bike that ain't all that..... Madness.....

  16. I was lucky enough to get to talk to the owners of these 2 bikes. Both were pretty happy with them so far. I agree that long term reliability has to be proven before we say it's the best thing ever.... YMMV
  17. I like the lucas chain lube. No fling if you wipe after application. Holds up well in the wet summers here in South Florida, and it doesn't attract dirt. Lucas Oil Lucas chain lubricant (autozone.com)
  18. Yep. Thisโ˜๏ธ I used to bring all the tools for almost anything. Now hardly anything. I haven't even needed to adjust the chain on a trip. Just make sure everything is up to snuff before you leave.
  19. A bit of a wipe down or a little bit of 'Throttle body cleaner" is about all you can do. But a couple thousand miles later it will look the same. Best Carburator and Throttle Body Cleaners 2021: Keep Things Clean (autoquarterly.com)
  20. While I don't live there. I have been going there for a long while. More than 20 years off and on. Asheville is a cool town. An interesting "hippy" vibe. 30 minutes to the west is Waynesville A much smaller slower paced place. Some of the roads to the BRP are better than the BRP 215 and 276 come to mind. There are others. Wayah Road is another. The Rattler to Hot Springs is another good choice. I26 between Asheville and Johnson City TN is as nice as Interstates get for views. The Tail of the Dragon is 2-ish hours away IIRC. The Cherohala Skyway is also nearby. My experiences riding the area are mostly from mid April through Thanksgiving. Rain can be expected anytime. Elevation is everything, Cold/cool up high, mild/moderate down low. I was in Highlands NC (elevation 4,000ft) mid April and morning temps were high 30's to mid 40's, down in Franklin NC (elevation 2,000ft) much warmer. Maggie Valley has "Wheels through Time" A must see. Wayne Bush lives in Waynesville and has really good maps (road and off road) of the area. Even bad roads there are better than most great roads here in South Florida. Wayne's maps. America Rides Maps Wheels through time Home - Wheels Through Time Pack's Tavern for after the ride.
