  1. Having turned 63 this past September I feel age creeping up on me. SOFLA traffic keeps my riding skills pretty well honed. 😃 I haven't taken a long trip in a while. My riding buddy decided that he was done. We have been best friends since high school. Trying to find my way as a solo traveler on the bike. Keep on motoring!!!!
  2. Oh yeah. It's a shame that SWMOTECH doesn't make the old Engage any longer. 😑
  3. @2and3cylinders@2and3cylinders Barber Motorsports museum for Vintage Fest.
  4. @PhotoAl I was there with my son on my VFR1200F and his HD XR1200 and I saw a few Fj-09s
  5. Doesn't have to be an oil leak. I've seen people over oiling their chain make that area look like that....
  6. Not sure on the order they will show. Me on the XR1200 in 2012 (Grey helmet) The picture with the XR and the black helmet is my oldest son on the same XR the year before covid. IIRC. A Picture of the 2 of us. Me on the FJ him on the XR. We rode from Nashville stayed at the Resort and had a great time on our way east to Waynesville. Me earlier this year on the VFR. I try to go every so often. It's just not a priority. There are so many great roads in that area.
  7. Alligators in the road are pretty common down on Tamiami Trail. Especially in winter. Cold nights mean they crawl out onto the road to warm up.
  8. A video Record-breaking python caught in Florida measured in at 17.7 feet, 215 pounds - ABC7 Los Angeles
  9. Both. Florida conservationists capture 215 pound python, the heaviest found in the state - CNN
  10. I thought that was just a Florida thing. Who knew? 🤷‍♀️
  11. What it looks like on the road
  12. I use the 32 liters Enduristan Tornado-2 TORNADO-2 PACK SACK (enduristan-usa.com)
  13. Just an afternoon diversion. Around the airport
  14. I have the commuter lite on my VFR1200F. Pretty happy with it. Seems well made and durable. Soft bags take a beating here in SOFLA. So time will tell.
  15. I'm not sure this applies. I live in Florida where we have "Sunpass" There are others but they are all compatible with sunpass. I have one sunpass transponder and account, but I have 4 vehicles attached to it. I never move the transponder from vehicle to vehicle. When the vehicle I'm in or on goes through the automated without a transponder it reads your plate finds it has a sunpass account and charges the account. So far this is different than toll by plate as I have never been charged an "administration fee" YMMV
  16. Been through there in a 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser. with 300,000 + miles on it. Swore I would get back on a bike. Doesn't look likely now. Truely God's country. Beautiful.
  17. 👆 This. It sounds exactly like a loose ground. My XR1200 used to do the exactly the same thing. Especially after I put in urethane motor and swingarm mounts.
  18. I used a telescoping lug wrench for years. But honestly over the last few years I don't bring anything. I make sure to adjust it before the trip. I keep an eye on it and usually over the course of my average long trip ~1,500 miles it does fine. If I was to do something epic I would still tote it around. YMMV This Hazet 772 Telescopic Wheel Nut Breaker Bar, 1/2" Drive 4000896030897 | eBay I didn't pay that much for mine
  19. With South Florida drivers being what they are grass is the least of my problems. 🤷‍♀️
  20. Technically I have 3 bikes. a 2009 HD XR1200 a 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 and a 2010 Honda VFR1200F I sold my XR to my oldest son for $1 with the stipulation that while I'm alive he has to sell it back to me for $1. With the XR in Murfreesboro TN. When my son flew in to visit (5-6 times a year) I would rent a bike from EagleRider. When all was said and done that's almost $1,000 for a long weekend. For that kind of money I could buy a used bike, which I did. The VFR. My point (finally) Is if you have paid for them. Other than insurance and some maintenance. They're not costing you much. Enjoy them both. Life is short.... Just sayin.
