  1. Yikes, the Vesrah pads are expensive!! Twice the price of Galfer HH and EBC HH pads. Are they that much better than other premium pads to justify the cost?
  2. I cant say with 100% certainty, but I would imagine that if your current master cylinder interferes with the handguard, then the R1/R6 will as well. - Only a guess though as I took my handguards off as soon as I bought the bike.
  3. The '04-'06 R1 master cylinder (maybe R6 too??) is the Brembo model and my research tells me the bore is 16mm.
  4. +1 on where to get the spacers, and is there another year besides the 2004-2006 R1 for rotors?? I plan on installing Spiegler brake lines from STG (free shipping and they include brake fluid and cleaner) and have been running the Vesrah RJL front pads (HH+ versus OEM only GG friction rating). The RJL provided improved stopping power but IMO only SS lines and maybe the R6 17 mm master cylinder (what years will fit?) will improve power AND feel. 1. I'm not sure what year R6 MC will fit, my R1 MC is from an '06. Much better lever feel over stock. The banjo fitting is on the bottom vs. side fitting on stock MC. 2. Where did you purchase the Vesrah pads from? is HH+ too abrasive on the rotors vs HH? 3. I would be curious to hear your thoughts after fitting the Speigler lines, from what I have read, they completely bypass the rubber and hard lines on the bike. A brief summary after the install would be excellent.
  5. I have also considered upgrading to the HH pads. I already have an R1 master cylinder and I was considering getting a set of 320mm R1 rotors. I had that combo on my last bike and the one-finger braking was awesome. The rotors are pretty cheap on Ebay from a parted out bike... and its rainy winter season, I need to tweak or tinker on something.
  6. Resurrecting an old thread... does anyone know where these 12mm spacers can be purchased from? Thanks in advance.
  7. Mine is a '15 as well, I bought it as a left over less than a year ago. I assume that even though one year of its life was spent sitting in a crate, the coolant is still 2 years old and needs to be flushed regardless of mileage. (16k)
  8. Nothing beats a seat that is custom built for you. I had one built in September by Rich's Custom Seats in Kingston Washington. I have since put over 6,000 miles on it and LOVE it. I cant believe that I didn't consider it much sooner.
  9. What mileage are you at for new chain and sprockets? I'm at 16,000 miles in her first year and while the rear sprocket doesn't appear to have any hooking on any teeth, I haven't pulled the cover to check the front yet. Common sense tells me that the next few months of winter down time would be the perfect time for a replacement. I have read on here that replacing the brake lines is a complete pain in the @$$. Did you stay with stock pads or go to something more aggressive like an HH pad? For improved lever feel, I upgraded to an R1 master cylinder, not a Chinese knock-off, an actual parted out R1 on Ebay. 1 or 2 finger braking, always!
  10. I love the Angel GT's and have worn through several sets but they have gone up in price very recently. I bought a set in September for $278, 6 weeks later the same online retailer has them for $309. Several other online retailers were similar, I will wait for Pirelli's Spring rebate to stock up. Since I wont ride too much over the winter I decided to try the Brigestone Battlax S21's @ just over $200 a set.
  11. Is there a written procedure for this modification? Sounds like a winner. There are several threads going over this procedure. Try Accelerator Position Sensor Adjustment If you need more info search: APS or Accelerator Position Sensor.
  12. I have posted this here before, but the heated grips along with the Tourmaster Synergy heated vest is a great combination. I have ridden in the low 30's (near 0c) and been toasty warm. I cant give these 2 items enough praise for extending my riding season. And... it has a HEATED COLLAR!!! 'nuff said.
  13. Today I adjusted the APS again for even smoother on/off fueling. A few months ago I changed it from the factory setting of 17 down to 14 and that was a dramatic difference. Since I had it torn apart to install the revised clutch cable, I thought "what the heck" and I adjusted it further from 14 down to 12. It had just finished raining but I wanted to see how smooth she was, I set it to A mode and tore around on some wet, slick streets and it felt like a more spirited B mode as far as on/off smoothness. VERY NICE! If you have a '15 or '16 its a FREE mod, you do however need access under the tank to adjust the APS. A word of warning if you have the MCCruise; if you adjust the APS you MUST re-calibrate your cruise, it WILL NOT work until you do, but then that only takes a few minutes to accomplish.
  14. That white sure does look nice!! D@mn, now I might need to spend more money on my bike...
  15. I'm still drooling over that ZRX!! I love that paint scheme even more than the more traditional Kawasaki green you usually see.
  16. I notice the exact same thing when fitting new tires, I recently put on new Pirelli Angel GT's and WOW, she feels smooth as butter. I didn't hate the OEM 222's, but found they were slipperier, at least in my experience, on painted lines and tar snakes. I had them slip on me more than once.
  17. I take it that's not recent. :-)No, it was taken before it closed due to wildfires. I wish I could have ridden it during the fall weather. Its a shame that its open such a short duration each year.
  18. Yes, they do. I have ridden in mid- 30's (the other morning it was 35 degrees when I left the hotel in John Day, Oregon) and I could only use level 5 before having to shut them off for a short period. Between the grips and the [a href=https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/871/33406/Tourmaster-Synergy-2.0-Electric-Motorcycle-Vest-Liner-with-Collar]Tourmaster Synergy heated vest [/a]riding in the 30's is nice and toasty.
  19. I dont want to derail the thread, but please share what kind of special concoction you use to achieve such MPG. Yesterday I was returning from a road trip and was riding a long straight highway back across the state, it was a beautiful Fall day with zero traffic, so I decided to take my time. I set the cruise control at 60mph and rode for a few hours purposely trying to see what my fuel consumption would be; 6th gear, mid 4k rpm's, almost zero elevation changes, riding like a little old lady and I barely got 50mpg. I have no intake or exhaust mods and just the standard 2WDW flash.
  20. I haven't had to twist my GPS power adapter, but I have had to press it in firmly to re-seat it. This only happens when I get to triple digits, its like the wind force actually pulls the power adapter out of the socket a few mm.
  21. On this matter, there appears to be a sort-of 'blank' or 'dummy' plug/ cap/ cover on the matching round hole on the rhs. What's this for? Does anyone use it - and if so for what may I ask? Thanks..That is for adding a 2nd 12v socket if you chose. Its an optional Yamaha accessory.
