  1. Does it just pull off or do you have to get a bit more physical with it? Notice any difference from doing it?
  2. So, the caliper pistons and MC work as they should, when the caliper is off the rotor. But as soon as you put the caliper back onto the rotor it sticks again? Could the rotor be warped? Are the caliper pins clean and greased?
  3. Easy to check: remove the caliper, take out the pads and put a thin bit of wood in there so the pistons can’t push out fully. Press the back brake gently and watch the pistons move. Check that they are clean whilst you’re there and then see if they are easy to push back in. This will help to rule out the MC as if the pistons don’t move in easily then it must be the pistons themselves at fault.
  4. The outside of the visor can be cleaned with any visor cleaner or dish-wash/water that takes your fancy. I normally dry it with a microfibre cloth. It can also be treated with water repellants to help keep your vision clear in the rain. The inside pinlock section is a soft, water vapour porous polymer that you have to be a bit more careful with as it will scratch and you shouldn’t use ammonia type cleaners on. I normally remove it every six months or so, wash in soapy water and then rinse abundantly with clean water. It’s best to leave it to air dry after shaking all the big drops off. While it’s off you can clean the inside of the visor properly and then refit the pinlock section.
  5. I had 14 hours in a Tomahawk and make a mean paper aeroplane. Hoping that counts ?
  6. That’s a nice, clear read @piotrek, thanks for the link ??
  7. Is that a ziptie on the lower fork leg @piotrek ? Leftover from suspension setting?
  8. I do most of my lane splitting when traffic is stationary @alejandro and although the SH23 cases are narrower than the stock bars, their width is lower down the bike. Consequently I only go for big gaps, like at traffic lights, when I have the cases mounted. Without the cases, I don’t find the stock bars any limitation at all, as the bike is taller than most cars so the bars fit nicely over car wing mirrors. But again, I do most of the narrow stuff with stopped vehicles in case anyone decides to lane change.
  9. New mark: your beloved FJ in a scene of urban decay (the moodier, grittier the better).
  10. Just a note of caution on SH23 side cases. The plastic they are made from isn't that thick and is quite soft, so the inside of one of mine is heavily scratched from a disc lock rolling around in there. And they are a really awkward internal shape, so I ended up buying a cheap gym shoes bag That works nicely for keeping your odds and ends together. Not revolutionary, but I thought I'd share.
  11. Went for a ride today, looking for old cars and bikes and then remembered these old aircraft parked at the back of the airport hotel. Pretty sure they should count as pre-1970s vehicles
  12. How about broadening it to any pre-1970 vehicle?
  13. I prefer my invisible motorbike theory, but sadly I think you’re correct.
  14. Is there an invisible pre-1970 motorbike in that photo @chuckaduck ?
  15. <Sigh>…another task added to the list. (Thanks for the heads up though @betoney )
  16. OK, if that was acceptable...next challenge. A picture of your FJ in front of a public clock.
  17. Scariest thing I could find today.... Yep, that's £1.26 a litre, which if my maths is okay, equates to $6.42 a US gallon. I bet you don't face such scary prices over your side of the pond!
  18. Great photos @keithu. Stunning scenery. It’s heard to tell from the top photo, but do you have a radiator guard fitted?
  19. The headlight and rear lights are LED so carrying spares is not really an option. Good point about a tyre plugging kit.
  20. The cheapest way to keep the beers cool is to wrap them in a few layers of cotton , then soak it liberally with water. Strap that down to the top of your tent bag and as you ride the evaporation will chill them.
  21. The only usual rules in games like this are that it should not be photoshopped and the photo should be taken AFTER the topic was posted (to avoid anyone just digging old photos out of their archive). Apart from that, it’s meant to be fun and it should have an element of playfulness I reckon, in other words you may have to ride a while to find an opportunity. And that’s a good thing surely?
