  1. Bear in mind we have proper gallons in England😉 60 mpg UK = 50 mpg U S
  2. UK mpg used to be 55mpg for me, after a recent letter from local constabluary I might be going a bit slower🤪 so 60mpg, that's real mpg, fill tank, zero odo, repeat, not dash mpg!
  3. Agree went there from Norfolk for 24,000 mile service on S10 4 years ago and was a lot less than £700!
  4. Mine is fitted in the same place but on the right, same sort of location on my S10 for 4 years with no problem, some dealers do fit them on new bikes now which is a good idea. Handy for plugging in tyre pump as they will blow the fuse in most standard electrical sockets on bikes
  5. on my gt you can switch the screen display in the menu, mine is set white on black (night) all the time, personally find it clearer.
  6. https://youtu.be/qey5rs7_b4c One if these delivered today so I will always have it on my bike, LOVE Leatherman, more jewellery than genuine toolkit but it's sooo cool😃
  7. Yep always nod, going too fast to take a hand off the bars😁
  8. True but at least with a chain you can see what's going on, unlike shaft! and trust me the original chain on my 800gs was the cheapest crap I have ever seen! Scotoiler and meticulous maintenance and it was scrap at 12,000 miles, replacement 30,000 miles and still ok when I sold it.
  9. Owned 2 BMW's 800s and 800gs, won't own another one! Cost of servicing and faults, steering head bearings, wheel bearings, lambda sensors, peeling engine paint etc, etc. I will stick with the GT and that engine😃
  10. Mine did it when new, haven't noticed it lately (6000 miles) I thought it was the radiator hoses getting hot?
  11. Had mine for 5 years last year, newer version out last year so bought a discounted older version same as mine, best lid I've ever used!
  12. Thin sheet ally cut and bent to shape, 3 ss bolts and lock nuts, jobs a good un!, cost pence
  13. I have heard that there was a problem with earlier oil coolers getting corrosion on the pipe that was too thin and a thicker pipe is now fitted?
  14. And the triumph needs valve checks every 12,000 miles, GT every 24,000, servicing cost soon adds up! That's why I went for GT
  15. Teaspoon of sugar, 2 drops of washing up liquid, slightly dampen with water, rub hands together to scrub off oil, rinse, clean hands and soft.
  16. Welcome aboard, I'm over the border in Narfolk.
  17. £260.45 that included wiring in led indicators to rear light, fitted by another dealer who said it was illegal to wire to rear/ brake light! Mototechniks Stowmarket
  18. Agree on the black background, much clearer🙂
  19. The same is said for fjr you could always ignore it, I do😁
  20. Makes sense although they have same mounting as fjr the lids are smaller so they are meant for gt😂
  21. Supplied with my bike, never fitted them and don't see the point? No damage to my bike without them!
  22. I have a GT and love it, didn't buy it for the panniers but they are a welcome addition, love the cc and that was the main reason to buy it, 30/40 limit cc on and rest my hand, 80 cruising cc on, I avoid motorways like the plague but use cc all the time. Wasn't sure about qs till I used it, addictive😁 dash is lovely and being able to adjust heated grips through it is great and shift light, rev counter colour (at certain revs) and background colour (black or white) are all configurable, thumb wheel on right side is not very user friendly though. Seat I find comfortable but don't like forward slope, same as S10 I owned, I want a level seat so will get it done over the winter. Screen I've had worse and not that bothered by it.
  23. I just disabled the shift light as I don`t feel the need to redline the bike, just checked and I set the green bar to come on at 5,800 rpm and orange at 6,800rpm, works for me.
  24. It's in the manual you can set the rev counter to turn green at certain revs and at higher revs orange if you so wish. Set mine to green at 5000 rpm, roughly 80 in top gear my cruising speed. Without looking it's in the manual under dash display? Also set my dash to black background all the time, clearer to me.
