  1. Standard Bagster seat off my 2018 900GT , sat on for 8,000 miles or so. A Few scuff marks that won't show up on pics. No cuts, tears or other damage. Buyer collects , Central Scotland. £100.
  2. Craig , Thanks for that. Perfect. I didn't think there would have been positioning options for the lockring - given the MT505 is small. (Unlike as you say the larger bags which have got three/four pre drilled options). Multiplying the three main dimensions of the 505 gives 11.7 litres: I realise it's not a cuboid shape but the similar calc for the EA123 bag is less than 6 litres. Which is confusing for bags both quoted as 5litres. The 500ml bottle in your pic clearly shows that your MT505 bag is not circa 11 litres.! [On my Tracer GT I happily used a Givi XStream 15litre bag BUT I have just changed to a Multistrada V2 and the Xstream covers the ignition key. (The extreme forward position of the Tracer GT ignition key is a great benefit to tank bag selection.]. It is this change that is having me research the smaller offerings. Thanks for your input.
  3. Alabama Craig ( or any other MT505 Givi bag owner). How close to the front of the bag is the tanklock ring ? Can the ring be fitted right up at the front i.e. the end of the bag nearest the ignition.?? A pic if the underside would be useful.
  4. Alabama Craig, The Metro 505, five litre tanklock bag, is quoted as 5litres and 190 mm x 280 mm x 220 mm ( HEIGHT x DEPTH x WIDTH ) Significantly greater dimensions than the EA123 Givi 5litre bag. EA123 quoted as 100mm x 260 mm x 200 mm ( HEIGHT x DEPTH x WIDTH ) . Does the Metro bag seem like 5litres to you or a bit larger ? [I asked Givi, last year, to explain the anomoly but just got waffle).
  5. I will be advertising my Bagster seat on eBay soon (Multistrada V2 950 due for delivery ) but putting it up here first. Rider and Pillion seats. The seat has been on my 2019 bike for 8k miles or so. No scuffs to speak of as sheepskin cover normally in use. I am located Central Scotland. Seat is a standard Bagster, black with blue piping. Sensible offer on here might avoid eBay.
  6. Do you still have the tank fitting off the "old bike"? Why doesn't it fit the new tank ring ? DIY mod ?
  7. Don't forget to check out Kappa tank bags.
  8. Hogie, I only mention the bars touching because it's factual rather than an issue. I should have added that my Givi tank bag does not obscure the "cockpit". I find the tanklock release a little stiff to open, sometimes - there is a bit of a knack to it. Take note that the tanklock is, obviously!, under the bag so you are disengaging the ring blind. Perhaps self evident but the bigger the bag the further under it is! I had a four, or was it six? , litre Givi tanklock bag . It sat like a pea on a base drum. It was only useful for a pair of sun glasses and a phone (I did make a hole in it and fit a "waterproof" gland for a usb cable). Remember once you fit the tanklock ring you can swap tank bags. I bought the wee bag for buttons off eBay. Givi sell a little kit that is the locking system fitted to the bag - £10__?? (Givi sell it so you can replace the ring on Yr Givi bag if it gets damaged. As per Grumpy Goat's post. Using a plastic cutting board, for the base, you can convert any bag you like to Tanklock style.
  9. I have a Givi XS307 "expandable to 15litres" by opening a subsidiary zip around the opening, which adds a bit of vertical height (25mm??), for my GT. I don't recollect if the extra volume was specified but it's probably 3litres max. The two side pockets are only useful for very slim items. The usb cable entry goes into the main compartment. The transparent lid pocket is only accessible when you open the lid. I point these aspects out not because I find them an issue but in the interest of explains the functionality. I use the bag routinely, for day out items, drink, food, phone, hat, sunglasses, map --- etc etc. The tanklock system lets you adjust the "fore and aft" position of the bag slightly. I have mine fully back i.e. towards the rider, in this position the bars touch but don't crush into it - on full lock. Mine has kept the contents dry in pretty wet weather.
  10. Fuses. See page 101, section 6.32 of the manual. Fuse box 1 under the seat. Fuse boxes 2 and 3 behind Indicator Side panels (manual section 306.9, page 79, for side panel removal instructions).--- Remove three dzus screws. Pull panel out -- there is a push fit plug into a hole. Slide panel down to disengage a short tongue. Panel is now free, apart from indicator cable plug.
  11. Under seat. Main fuse: 50.0 A and Fuel injection system fuse: 20.0 A (remove the starter relay cover by pulling it up to access). The following are all Mini type Fuses. Under seat Fuse box 1: 1.Radiator fan motor :15.0 A 2.Backup fuse:7.5 A for clock and immobilizer. 3.Elect throttle valve :7.5A 4.ABS solenoid :15.0 A 5.ABS motor : 30.0 A 6. spare fuses. Fuse box 2 lhs :top to bottom. 12. Ignition :15.0 A 11. Spare fuse 10.Seat heater option: 7.5A 9. ABS control unit: 7.5A 8.Fog lamp option: 2.0A 7.Signaling system: 7.5A 6.Brake light :1.0 A Fuse box 3 rhs:top to bottom. 1.Parking lighting: 7.5 A 2.Headlight : 7.5 A 3. Aux connector under windscreen: 2.0A 4. 12v socket: 2.0A 5.Cruise control :1.0 A 11.Spare: 2.0 A
  12. I compiled this summary of fuses from the manual. Might help others decide what spares to carry. 1.0A two, Black. 2.0A two, Grey. 7.5A seven, Brown. 15.0A three, Blue. 20.0A one, Yellow. 30.0A one, Green. 50.0A one, Red.
  13. Apart from blocking half of the screen
  14. So a "complete" kit is a Pair of S4pods £250 great british pounds with a Data Dim rotary switch kit and a Three position switch for £80 gbp OR a Dial Dim controller Kit. £200 great British pounds. (and a choice of mounting bracket).
  15. Rosscofat, You were obviously typing when I was. Your comments complete the story, thanks. I had vaguely heard something about the Strobe effect but didn't know what switched it. That's now Crystal clear. ! Thanks.
  16. Bit between my teeth now. I found this ref Yamaha T7 "problem is that the high beam wire doesn’t provide 12 v when on. Since the T7 has LED headlights the available headlight wire doesn’t provide what’s needed by the Datadim module. The only option I have been able to find is the three position switch Denali offer. " Also found this which obviously helps understand how the DataDim works. Do the controller and switch have handlebar mounting clamps supplied ? What do the lights do when the horn blows -- go to full intensity ??
  17. Rosscofat, I appreciate your extra info. Can I clarify, -- The two pod kit does not have an on/off switch. Correct/Wrong ? Without the DataDim device do the pods light on full intensity when power connected ? I did not know about the,DataDim , Denali pod off with turn signal on function. Sounds a good idea. Crystal clear ref, spot/ flood light on together, design. I made a givi2139 clone to mount my cheap ex China lights, so that's clear as well. Edit. I found this Denali switch info. Obviously, doesn't link to the turn signals. "The DENALI HI-LOW-OFF Switch replaces the standard ON-OFF switch. The switch enables independent dimming of the lights, separate from the vehicle's OEM lighting system. Option for those who want full independent control of their auxiliary lights. "
