  1. Bet the Ignition key still goes in a stupid place !
  2. Disconnect negative battery terminal first; Reconnect negative battery terminal last.
  3. And here is a link to the type of connector you need to mate with the Yamaha auxiliary socket. MT090-2 Auxiliary male power connector for Yamaha MT09, MT07, Tracer This item is a male connector...
  4. At least some of your questions are answered here. Use the aux supply to switch the Eastern Beaver Fuse block on and (fused)Battery supply for the power side of your Eastern Beaver fuse block.
  5. You just needed to think latterly- the information you need is here.
  6. Does it have a Bagster Seat ?😬🤡
  7. Shizzle, I found that my Bagster took a few hundred miles to gradually yield its full comfort. Don't expect miracles sitting on it in the garage on Thursday !
  8. Salish900, Forgive me but WHAT seat have you got
  9. Betoney, I am sure others would appreciate the detail. Foam ? Gel,? Combination ?
  10. I had my stock seat re-built by a reputable guy. Cost me £90 and was money down the drain. The seat pan must in someway be fundamentally flawed imho. (P.S. I rebuilt my Tiger 800 seat myself and it was better than the original. The Tracer is so bad I decided to use a professional but that didn't work.)
  11. Shizzle, I guess you will have read this thread but in case not -
  12. I made a decision re my screen (at least for now). I would have purchased a Puig Touring Screen with visor, in Clear --- circa £140 --- but there are none available. I could have bought a Puig Touring Screen without a visor, in clear -- circa £95 but I am not sure I need extra height without the ability to fiddle with the visor. (I am 5ft 9in so it's possible the Puig screen would have beengetting dropped to the low position as opposed to high with the OEM). I decided against £70 for an MRA X creen. A Puig seems to offer better value/options.( OK, I know it's twice the price.) Ex China. Many of the X creen "clones" have a single centre fixing. I ruled them out. Many of the clones with "two clamps/legs" have them secured to the visor a long way from the outside edge. I ruled them out. I eventually found an ex China visor, from an eBay vendor "birdman racing" item number 273631925194. He offers the visor in three widths, the "legs" are near the sides, the visor has double hinge "legs" (it was unclear on many offerings if they had this adjustability). The vendor was open to offers so I offered a bit below the asking price and it was accepted. I will update when the Visor arrives in November. I should add that I do not think the OEM screen is bad, (unlike the one on a Triumph Tiger 800 where I fitted a Madstad almost immediately). On the GT I am simply looking to see if I can change the airflow a bit.
  13. You may have noted that I think the Bagster seat is the dogs dangles. I repeat that again here. BBB, I have a pair of Moto Skiveez, which I think you reference and I never found them much of a benefit. I tried sheepskin covers and getting the original seat inner modified to no benefit. I honestly found the OEM seat dangerous as I started thinking about my rear rather than the road after 100miles. OK, there is probably no way of anyone trying a Bagster before deciding to spend the cash. Trust me --- I don't spend without research or with abandon! I can only say the Bagster works for me. I will add it did improve over a few hundred miles. If anybody says they don't like their Bagster offer to buy it and watch them backtrack. Going back to Cycle Shorts --- regardless of which seat, I found that a pair of cycle shorts with the padding carefully removed make excellent motorcycle shorts. Flat seems and a high back. Base layer tucked into the shorts - perfect.
  14. It took me 6,000 miles, a year, a reworking of the stock seat "innards" and hours fiddling with washers before I decided to buy a Bagster Seat. It has transformed my days out to truly enjoyable from barely tolerable. Each to his own though.
  15. Wintersdark, In my opinion the Yamaha seat on my GT was the least comfortable of any I have ever had on a motorcycle (and I have had several) and it is therefore a Bad Seat.!
  16. On reflection does a Puig Touring Screen (no adjustable visor) at £99 offer better value than £70 for an MRA X creen to attach to the original Yamaha screen ?Mmmm???
  17. PhotoAl, that's the kind of thing that I have seen circa 15 of our great British pounds. In truth I am never a fan of bolt on solutions and you seem to be saying the same a screen with an integrated visor would seem to be a more elegant solution than "clipping on" another part. Unfortunately no clear Puigs with Visor available in the UK The question is - Does an X creen at £65/£70 offer anything over a £15 clone ?? Perhaps your experience says No.
  18. Has anybody tried one of the Asian Clones of the MRA X creen (available for around £15ish) ?? I was looking for a Puig screen with the integral visor but there don't seem to be any available in the UK .
  19. Stop procrastinating. Buy a Bagster seat. See the threads commending it.😁😁😁
  20. Rummaging around on the Bay I found the China clone for £54. Item number 402437219481. Even if I only use it as a pattern for making some of it more robust it ain't robbery
  21. On reflection I would suggest an SW Motech designer did a bit of value engineering on the Spoiler and came up with the Guard. The Spoiler needs a huge sheet of aluminium, with lots of waste cut away, to make its outer case component. There is also lots of complicated bending of that part to make the shape. IMHO.
  22. SW-Motech also offer an item called Front Spoiler. This cannot be fitted with the Engine Guard It's not clear to me why they would have two items to protect similar areas. The Front Spoiler is however more complex in construction and twice the price of the Engine Guard.
  23. Simple but effective. The best ideas are ever thus ! Thanks for posting.
  24. I am not sure any bash plate is going to stop that kind of damage to an oil sump ! As you say the SWMotec type design, using the sump bolts for mounting, must require some sacrificial crumpling to avoid damaging the bolts. I am not sure how much maths after market suppliers put into their designs. The Givi bash plate offering does use mounting points that I suspect would stand a shock load better --- as ever price comes into play.
