  1. Ok. "Denali S4 features two flood optics and two spot optics to create a super wide close-range flood and a piercing spot beam in one housing. The S4 DataDimâ„¢ Technology enables the lights to be upgraded in seconds to dual intensity. By connecting a plug-n-play DataDimâ„¢ Controller they automatically switch the lights between half and full intensity with your vehicle's original high beam switch." I took the above from a Denali info. Without the DataDim controller can the S4 lights be switched between "half and full intensity" with the switch that is supplied ?? Are the flood and spot light, in each housing, switched separately, or do they come on together ? Have you got a pic of the mounting bracket fixing taken from the side ? Are brackets supplied in the kit ?
  2. I should have added I have a Prime jacket ( Halverson now make the Wein as the new model) and Wish trousers. Superbly comfortable and waterproof.
  3. Halverson's for me. Quality kit, not cheap but not Rukka price either.
  4. I should have added that whilst it looks like (and is) multiple steps, it is Straightforward.
  5. Everything you need to know here.
  6. Firstly, I guess I owe G&T an apology for hijacking his thread with lots of dtl about the FendaExtender ! To finish that off, it took me less than the proverbial 10mins to refit the front fender and brake pipes this morning. Back to GnT's list - The scroll wheel is absolute trash. -----++++Agree wholeheartedly. Too many functions stuffed in behind that wheel.----- ++++Ditto. Heated grips would be much easier to control via the normal Yamaha solution of having the control on the left grip.---- +++++ Absolutely wholeheartedly. If it gets cold you just want to flick one switch. That stock screen had to go.The MRA Vario is worlds better! ------I put a cheapie extender on and it does make a huge difference. Traction control is a little intrusive (even on 1). ------Never had an issue there. Stock mirrors are cheap crap.----- I find them OK. Somehow i have warped my front brake discs. --No comment ! That fuel indicator...... ---+++Agree wholeheartedly. The mental turmoil coming up to 170uk miles is awfull. Do I refuel asap or try for the extra 20miles past the near petrol station ?Drives me to distraction, particularly when my riding buddy has 240mile capability ! (Particularly when I think I could get 230miles to dry!).
  7. I wasted a year debating spending the money on a Standard Bagster. Just do it, by the second time out on it you will wonder why all seats are not made like that . Ref height it is def not lower than the std Yamaha seat but is probably only very slightly taller and I don't mean 10mm.
  8. What thickness did you use ? I have knocked up a template/sketch for a clone of a well known product - conveniently some sizes are provided on the marketing info.
  9. Stimulated by this thread I ordered a front Fender Extender and a pair of Handguard Extenders from Pyramid Plastics. Much to my surprise they were delivered today, Monday, having been ordered the preceeding Friday. Excellent. Fitting the handguard extension on the throttle side is trickier than the clutch side - so would suggest clutch side first to refine your technique. The front fender brake pipe clips have double ratchet devices to lock them together. Get a good light on the task and a small flat blade screwdriver to dislodge the ratchets to get the brake pipes detached from the fender. You still need to get the clips off the fender to let it go through the forks to get it off the bike for cleaning and fitting the Fenda extender. My extender and OEM fender are clamped together in a nice warm place to get the adhesive pads fully stuck to both bits.
  10. What did you material did you make the rear shock flap from ?
  11. Bowlin01, thanks for that. Story continued here.
  12. I realised that they would have "barbs" preventing them from falling out and as you say wheel out would be easy. I suspect that they are same/similar to the one being held. The image clearly shows a ratchet lock on the circular bit so I will have a go at splitting it open.
  13. How do the brake pipe clips detach from the "fender" ?? Twist and pull ? Thinking about Pyramid Extender .
  14. Hence using aux power to switch a relay and connect lights or whatever via fused battery supply. Or better still use a smart fuse box to future proof aux item connection. August 2018, Aux power supply thread. https://www.tracer900.net/topic/5984-auxiliary-dc-connector/
  15. Are all worms / string equally efficient ? Discuss.
  16. But it's still impossible to alter the heated grips whilst riding --- you might if it's a 20mile straight with no traffic ,!
  17. You might find this thread and an earlier one re the aux power supplies behind the windscreen.
  18. I have just read in MSL magazine that the 2021 GT panniers are bigger and mount differently to the 2018/20 GT. There were no pics with the panniers off to refer to. Can anybody confirm that ?
  19. The GT fuel gauge performs exactly as described above. Even worse there is no Miles per Litre option on the read out --- for us bizarre Brits.
  20. Rather than use a simple relay go for the sophisticated version -- look in the accessories section of this retailer. (I thought it was a direct link when I first typed this - hence edit). https://redirect.viglink.com/?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_162559618914210&key=9a04deb739d2046c76c8803f667eee8b&libId=kqse28ue0102spki000MLdxvyp8b4&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tracer900.net%2Ftopic%2F5984-auxiliary-dc-connector%2Fpage%2F3%2F%23comments&v=1&opt=true&out=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Furl%3Fsa%3Dt%26source%3Dweb%26rct%3Dj%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.marksmotorcycleparts.co.uk%2F%26ved%3D2ahUKEwix24CVyOfjAhWSilwKHbaMDfMQFjAAegQIBhAD%26usg%3DAOvVaw0irLmkiVv-aRZzOBeNv_b0&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tracer900.net%2Ftopic%2F5984-auxiliary-dc-connector%2Fpage%2F2%2F&title=Auxiliary DC Connector%3F - Page 3 - Tracer 900 GT Discussions - FJ09 Tracer 900 Forum&txt=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Furl%3Fsa%3Dt%26amp%3Bsource%3Dweb%26amp%3Brct%3Dj%26amp%3Burl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.marksmotorcycleparts.co.uk%2F%26amp%3Bved%3D2ahUKEwix24C... You would still need to do a switch installation on an output from the "relay" if you want to have manual control over the on off.
  21. I had a Tiger that had a screen that was the equivalent of the Tracer seat. Madstad absolutely fixed it. I don't find the Tracer screen too bad but I did fit a cheap ex China extension thing that did make a bit of a difference. However, I fiddled for a year with the Tracer seat before I bought a Bagster ---- if you find the Screen really bad , buy a Madstad NOW !! Life is too short to procrastinate !
  22. I think it would be a good idea to reflect on why penetrating oil is used on rusty nuts and bolts !!
