  1. Seems more a solution lolkkng for a problem than anything else. But yes, I respect the engineering too.
  2. There is an excellent WW2 museum in Fredricksburg, TX, ADM Mimitz hometown. Well worth a stop.
  3. Its been awhile since my full face lids. I imagine the gap sealing on modulars is improved. I like modular regardless. BTW, www.thehelmetshop.com lists types of helmets by head shape by brand. Pricing is likely pretty typical.
  4. Modulars are noisy, even with ear plugs, which help.
  5. I have a feature in mind usually. Try on is the only way to judge fit. I'll pay whatever for good fit. Shoei, Schuberth never have fit.
  6. Scorpion makes a modular helmet, adjustable face shield and drop down sun shade, and visor like on a D/S helmet BUT the face shield cannot be raised with the visor attached. The visor snaps on. Price was $270. Modular is noisier of course. Might be an option to consider.
  7. Thx, just curious about the age. Running down an inventory yields good sales for us. Ride safely!
  8. How old are those deal tires out of curiosity? When I had 4 bikes and changed tires myself I always had sets of tires on hand, stored in a cool dry basement. I never fretted over how old they were. Some of us are really anal about that, not me. I rode pretty aggressively back then, which is less the case as I fight to not let the old man in!
  9. Ditto betoney comments. It should be fine assuming routine maintenance properly done.
  10. Nobody has mentioned the "kill" switch on the right brake cluster. Could be something there. If you take it apart be careful. I had a problem there on an old bike yrs ago.
  11. The Givi Grumpy cited do what I needed.
  12. How much faster is your already fast red bike with the red link plates? Frightening fast I bet.
  13. You might look at outdoor/camping/hiking stores for good gear. Seems much of it is light weight and packs small. I have pants with full side zippers that makes getting into them with boots on very easy. I sized the jacket to fit over my mesh jacket. Had the set for 6 yrs, never leaked, easy on/off. Usually lots of choices too. Good luck finding what you want. Ride safely!
  14. Thanks. I'll recheck. When I entered the bike info I was taken to pages as I mentioned. I'm using my old cell phone, slow, small screen, fat finger old man half blind unfriendly.
  15. Put dryer sheet inside helmet on garage shelf. Spray with Fabreeze for fabrics. I switch between 3 helmets. As for face shield, I use a silicone type tech polish. Hot water soaks bugs away easily. Plexus is good but sure has gotten $$$$.
  16. I had oem self cancelling on a BMW, worked great Had to remember to cancel though on my other bikes. That web site is a pita. No pricing shows, and its akward to navigate, and still mo pricing. May be a great product though.
  17. Think about loose vs tight, loose being better than tight. If the chain is so loose you can hear it slapping, its too loose. Too tight wears the rollers, and puts stress on the counter shaft/seals. Don't overthink adjustment, as mentioned earlier.
  18. I have been using a timer (outdoor light type) with my BT's. I set timer to power up weekly for an hr or so rather than full on. Its worked well for me. FWIW.
  19. I have Kathys liners from a BMW I owned several years ago. I have toyed with finding some brackets to rivet to side case walls and lace stretch cord such that it would hold things in place in the nain body and the lids. Silicon will seal rivet holes. Gonna bite the bullet b4 soon. Why not!
  20. Can you see where its loose? Or if something has broken and been repaired? Lots of materias can snug up gaps. Is the lock latch mechanism good? Seems it should not be too hard to problem solve, although we've all gone thru that before. Good luck.
  21. I've switched from 16 to 17 tooth countershaft sprockets on a couple of wee Stroms and a KLR. Rpms dropped about 250 at highway speeds. There was no detectable difference in mpg. Vibration was reduced a little. I have not changed sprockets on my '20 900Tracer gt, don't see the need. And from previous posts on the subject it throws off speedo accuracy a fair amount because of ecu control. A reflash is req'd to correct. Others here will correct me if I am wrong.on any of this. I should add that the sprocjet change was not on newer.bikes with electronic mph systems. Ride Safely!
  22. It was a business trip but we thought why not Legoland Hotel. Great accomodations!
  23. Your english is far better than my Danish. I visitex Bilund years ago. Welcome!
