hobo
Never liked the red color, so decided to strip her down and go 'old school' with the yellow/black paint. http://i.imgur.com/Xt7ntpfs.jpg It also has the Acrapovic Titanium pipe. The sound is amazing and not nearly as loud as I had thought. The center stand had to be removed, but I don't find that to be a big deal. Over 40 years I think only one other bike had a center stand. http://i.imgur.com/e7ALIzh.jpg I changed out the front fender for a carbon fiber unit and with the carbon pipe, it blends well. Riding my bike is a stress relief for me and I don't like taking passengers. So, the rear pegs came off as well as the rear hand holds. http://i.imgur.com/jX4Q6iz.jpg I like the 'sport' part of the 'sport tourer' classification. The tall stock windshield only made me feel like I had Parkinsons. My head was all over the place. I cut the stock shield down and now I get a steady blast, witch is fine with me. I also took the 'bark busters' off. Shorty clutch/brake levers were added. They actually have 'FJ-09' printed on them. http://i.imgur.com/WSGEVCv.jpg I removed the stock gas cap and replaced with a CNC quick release cap. No key required. The X-Ram mount does a good job of keeping my iphone gripped in at over 130+ mph and countless wheelies. (Yes, ECU was flashed to get rid of speed limiter) http://i.imgur.com/Xt7ntpf.jpg I have a bit over 8000 miles and love the bike. Last weekend I was able to do a great ride through the Asheville NC/Blue Ridge Parkway and the bike was very capable as a tourer/sport bike. Over 500 miles in one day and all types of roads. Freeway to awesome twistys. Yamaha produced a great bike for the price.

Premium Member jetfixer Posted October 22, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted October 22, 2015 Beautiful! Looks factory. I only wish that was offered from Yamaha. Bill 2015 Heeled by the hands of Nel's @ 2WheelDynoworks K-Tech forks and shock lots of other expensive unimportant stuff. The "Ex" 2003 FZ1 Ride more, worry less. Premium Member wessie Posted October 22, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted October 22, 2015 They have an MT07 in yellow with speedblocks, in Europe at least. Looks nice and may find its way onto the MT09 Tracer eventually. This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is. db5304
Looks awesome. I think it would look great with black or yellow forks. I'm not a huge fan of the Gold that is the only color in the states.

vegashotwheeler
SHWEET! Now that color scheme would have me as a definite buyer! Saw a Zuma a while back with a scheme similar that had me thinking of adding to my garage. Mike

hobo
Thanks guys, I painted it in 9 days for about $125.00. Everything was painted except the radiator shrouds are vinyl graphics. The stock rear seat will be replaced with a fiberglass cowl once it's finished. I bought another rear seat base and the cowl is mounted to that. I will be able to swap it out for the seat in 10 seconds. The rear pegs can be re-mounted in 2 minutes if I do need to carry a passenger. Because I plan more three/four day rides in the future, I bought the Yamaha removable rear soft bag guides. They clip in/out in a flash and keep the bags from rubbing the tire. Im not a big fan of hard bags as you are limited to what objects can fit and the lid still closing. With soft bags you can carry a fishing pole if desired, just leave zipper loose. Plus, I can go through several sets, or have a large and small set, for the cost of the hard bags. Just my thought!

rodan
LOVE it! 'Course I'm old enough to have watch KR race in person... I've always liked the bumble bee scheme, and desperately wanted a KR Rep RZ when I was in college! I was stuck with a junker RD400 that kept trying to kill me!
