Hi guys, new to the FJ and so far love it!!  Doing a few mods for comfort and sportiness and one of my wants is to move the pegs slightly down and forward to better accommodate my long legs. It is quite comfortable as is but a tad more would be great. Gotta admitthis one of the funnest machines I have ever owned and have owned many over the years..Cheers

Only foot related mod I frequently hear about is the rubber foot pegs to damp vibration. An aftermarket seat will also move you a little bit compared to the stock seat, you may find after the seat, the rear sets are unnecessary. Just my thoughts.

I have the eBay FZ6 clone rubber covered footpegs which are very nice and longer. On my VTR1000F I have run for a decade or more the excellent MFW Vario footpeg system. I recommend the 23mm extension arm to minimize foot shift and brake lever adjustment issues, the mount selection is a given for several Yamaha models, and pegs also optional.

The vario pegs are a nice option, but I didn't like them on my FZ1.  I felt they moved my legs out too wide.

IMO these pegs should have been stock in the U.S. Purchased these after riding in the rain with the OEM rubber-less pegs. Paired these pegs with a Sargent Seat and long distance rides yield no complaints.
I also have these installed. They are great.

Where did you find them in the states?

I bought mine in '15 for a Super Tenere. Had to do a little grinding to get them to fit, but they are great!
I ordered them from Yamabits.uk... they ship to the US.

Yes, that’s where I ordered mine from as well. I really like these foot pegs.

I’m guessing that you tried raising the seat to the higher position first, before paying out money? That’ll buy you some leg room. And you can always scootch back a bit on the stock seat, too.

Was this not enough?

I did just get my seat back from Russell seats and it is about 2 inches taller and allows me to slide back a bit more. Quite comfortable now. I have the pegs mentioned earlier from Ebay for a bit larger foothold and will need to bring the bars up just a bit as I am higher than before. Ordered my cables and the SW motech risers. I had a BMW R1200RT and now I have an Indian Chieftain. I am used to riding in a more tour oriented form so old habits are hard to break. After a trip through the mountains and western NC I decided I wanted to add a more sport oriented bike as I missed having the extra zip and agility of prior bikes before moving more towards touring types.  I still wanted comfort, lightweight and a strong accelerator. This FJ is quite a wonderful machine. I am afraid it will be my go to bike when done as it is as fun as hell to ride quite frankly and comfort is quite good. Will be even a bit better when I have finished abusing my Visa card..lol
