edgarjessop12
Hi Guys, How much Fuel is left in the 18 litre tank, when the picture of the Petrol Pump on the Dash starts Flashing. Cheers Edgar Jessop.
thejrod
I hit reserve with about 3.6 (correction about 3.8-3.9 indicated) indicated gallons being used, but I can put in ~4.0 at the pump (the gauge is optimistic). So reserve comes on after about 4 gallons used from a completely full tank. It's a 4.8 gal tank. Whether or not it holds a full 4.8 is another story. flyfifer
4 and 4.8 of US gallons it should be said . The tank is of course 4.0 Gallons but safest called 18 litres.😉
Premium Member DavidS Posted August 27, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted August 27, 2019 I quit trying to figure out the tank capacity and reserve, and just make sure I fill up my 2015 FJ 09 at 200 miles or less. I always have at least 1/2 gallon left in the tank, based on gallons filled and stated capacity of the tank. And it's easy enough to reset my trip meter when I get gas. (it's actually a habit now)
open1mind
I gave up on OEM fuel guages and computers about 10 bikes ago. The trip odometer is the closest thing that you can get to a reliable fuel- o- meter on any bike, including the Tracer....
nhchris
Not quite on my 09. I see a 10% difference in mileage per tank depending on my speed. For example.... Running at 75-80 mph on the interstate (+5k RPM) i get 45 mpg and 180 miles per tank. At a more leisurely pace I will pull 50 mpg and 200 miles per tank. In addition to watching mileage I need to be mindful of speed and distance. I regularly check the CRNT Fuel function for a quick view of how much the engine is drinking. 1 1968 Triumph Bonneville 650 1971 Norton Commando Roadster 2002 Harley 1200 Sportster 2003 Honda ST 1300 2016 FJ
frankycello
Fuel gauge is a big negative for the Tracer, Yamaha need to improve on this.
