nick
Here is the clearly recorded sound of whining... So, it's bad...
traceroz
6th gear is straight cut, hence the whine. I like it, twist the go handle and it sounds like a supercharger!
jord4231
I find 3rd is noisy but I've only done 700kms so maybe not run in yet

Premium Member ULEWZ Posted August 4, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted August 4, 2015 Third and sixth gear are straight cut. They are all straight cut, see this previous thread and the picture I posted: linky A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul. Premium Member jeff400650 Posted August 28, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted August 28, 2015 Mine is fairly loud in 6th, but it was really loud until I did the first oil change. Now it sounds sustainable. Before it seemed like a problem. Pistons or pedals, 2 wheels are where it's at...
nihilist
Every time I shift into sixth gear, it's so loud I keep thinking it's a siren from an emergency vehicle.....a British one from the 1960's, but still it's weird. This is by far the noisiest drive train I've ever experienced. Every gear has it's own strange noise. //QED
