I have no idea, I can't hear it over the wind blast!

6th gear is straight cut, hence the whine. I like it, twist the go handle and it sounds like a supercharger!

Third and sixth gear are straight cut.
They are all straight cut, see this previous thread and the picture I posted: linky

Mine is fairly loud in 6th, but it was really loud until I did the first oil change. Now it sounds sustainable. Before it seemed like a problem.

Pistons or pedals, 2 wheels are where it's at...

Every time I shift into sixth gear, it's so loud I keep thinking it's a siren from an emergency vehicle.....a British one from the 1960's, but still it's weird.
 
This is by far the noisiest drive train I've ever experienced. Every gear has it's own strange noise.
