  1. Another added benefit to my iphone SE. Can’t break a feature you don’t have 😂
  2. Man, I thought you his thread was gonna be about banjos and got all excited 😂
  3. I think mine has hit 230F (indicated) at a red light in 124F (indicated) ambient. That was a whole pile of unpleasant.
  4. So, depending on the keys, a locksmith may or may not help. If you have the flat bladed security keys, they might tell you there’s nothing you can do. That’s what they told me on my Givi V47 top case 🙂 The good news is that a decent drill bit can be used to destroy the lock core wafers, and then you can open it with a flat blade screw driver. And the replacement lock cores are very easy to install. I got mine from Revzilla.
  5. It did just fine. I didn’t hammer it as hard as I would have on a solo day trip, but at no point did it feel like the bike was holding me back. I went a bit slower in the sharp corners so as to keep the wife happy, but acceleration even uphill was still great.
  6. The last multi day trip I went on I had top case, side cases, and the wife on the back. It’ll be fine 🙂
  7. All this because I wave at people. You’re a riot 🤣 I’ll still wave at you though, and even stop to help you plug your tire or remove the stick from your ass
  8. Oh man, PCH, Utah, Colorado… Great places to ride!
  9. Today I learned that being friendly is the path to Nazism. WTF is wrong with you? Also, what did you have in common with Nazis? 😂
  10. I wave at squids, atgatt grandpas, Harleys, Spyders, mopeds, moto-cops; anybody not in a cage. If I ever see a Niken in the wild, I’ll wave to you too 😂 I don’t get the tribal thing. There’s enough of that in every other aspect of life. The point is we’re not in cages, that should make us friends 🙂
  11. Being from Wyoming, if you asked me to meet in Greybull, I wouldn’t show either 😂
  12. Oh man, 105F and not just handgaurds, but those handgaurds? You sir, enjoy punishment 😂
  13. Neato, but 1800$ is just a bit outside my helmet budget 😂
  14. I think CyclTerminal is the common place for Japanese bike connectors. Now I’m wondering if the Sumitomo connector (the correct one) uses JAE MX32A pins. Cycleterminal does list a Sumitomo Honda 33-pin connector that looks awfully similar to the Yamaha. And I can order the Sumitomo pins and crimp tool individually from there. Might give that a shot.
  15. Going to retire my Shoei Hornet X2 in September, after what will be 5 years and about 70k miles of awesomeness. Starting the agonizing debate over the new lid now. I think I’ve narrowed it down to a Shoei RF-SR, HJC RPHA 70 ST, HJC F70, AGV K6, or Scorpion EXO R1 Air 😂
  16. I've learned through trial and error (ordering from Amazon), that despite the similar appearance, the pins are NOT Metri Pack. And if I'd done more googling, I probably could've skipped that step. I have learned that they are likely JAE-MX23A pins, and I can get what looks like the whole 33-pin connector from various Asian countries. Domestically, I can get JAE-MX23A pins, or different even numbered connectors. Ordering from Alibaba makes me nervous for my identity, but the crappy pictures on Cycle Terminal make me unsure of the product. Currently debating which route to risk...
  17. Decided to give the Pinlocks another try after thinking about this thread. I bought a set years ago, tried them for one ride, hated them, and put them in the box-o-junk. I couldn’t remember why I hated them though. Well, after popping in the large set this morning for my 15 mile/15 minute commute, I had a raging headache when I got to the office. So maybe that’s why I hated them. I’ll try the mediums on the way home. Maybe they’re perfect. I think I have weird ear canals though; I have to insert them almost vertically to align them right. Which is why I have used the Macks silicone for a long time.
  18. Same thing for the same reason. Only thing that doesn’t drive me absolutely bonkers after a few hours.
  19. Haha, yeah I saw that 124 here in Phoenix. 115 is still pretty toasty!
  20. ETA: Death Valley is a super cool (well, not cool) place to moto-camp!
  21. Interesting. I’ve seen 124F on my 2016; I wonder why they decided to limit it on the later models?
  22. I have some old low profile camelbak I’ve used for multiday tours or just long hot days. I made the mistake of just trying to carry the bladder in my back armor sleeve once. Killed my shoulders after a few hours. In the actual pack though, it’s great. I just tuck the bite valve in my collar when I’m not using it, and it’s really easy to shove it into my helmet when I need it, even with a chin skirt. If you’ve got a particularly soft bite valve, lock it off though. I don’t ever use ice. Not that it doesn’t sound good, but it’s a hassle, and in my experience, body heat and air temperature warm it up pretty quick. Even backcountry skiing with camelbaks only the water in the hose would get cold/freeze if you didn’t clear it. Body heat warms up the bladder quick.
  23. I have side case racks for sale if they fit your model
  24. That sounds crazy. I asked ahead of time for my 2016, and they confirmed they could do it, and it kicks on at 190F, I believe. Might be 195F. Have you talked to Nels? He’s always personally responded to my emails at least; might be worth a shot.
