  1. Here is my comfort seat set at the low setting.
  2. I am busy running around today, but I'll try to grab a seat pic from mine. Probably good to have one on the site anyway! (also the orders from this weekend were shipped today, but I think I missed the pickup at the mailbox by a few minutes so they will get moving tomorrow from there.)
  3. If anyone with a 15-17' FJ or FZ/MT wants to try the kit I'll send you a coupon code to get 100% off (I do ask that you cover shipping, and would prefer folks in the US just to keep it a fast turn around), with the requirement that you help me understand if the kit doesn't fit on the bike with the stock seat or the comfort one, what I can do to make it fit. I am good sending a few of these out for testing, because if I can help all the FJ's out there I am all about that. DM me if you are interested.
  4. Ohh wow, hope your recovery is smooth and you get back to 100%!
  5. Absolutely msg me or email shop@jk3d.us if you have any questions!
  6. Thanks! Just took a few orders to the mailbox, and will get yours in tonight!
  7. Man that is a stunning bike. Some day when I grow up (I'm 43...) I too want to own a nice BMW like that. Really neat bikes!
  8. all packed and in the mailbox! Thanks for the orders!
  9. One word of caution on the locktite - I had to drill out one of the lower/bottom screws next to the exhaust on mine... since it gets hot and cycles a lot, it seized. I thought it was a fluke, then last week I went to remove it to change the oil and that same location was seized up, This time before stripping the head or breaking a hex bit again, I hit it with a torch and some penetrating oil from above, and it came out. I used a small bit of anti-seize this time on that bolt, but the others had some blue loctite on the threads still (don't use red, or you wont get the damn thing off )
  10. I'd be willing to send a set to someone with a 15-17 to verify fitment for me. Also for anyone with a Tracer 9 as the forward mount is different on the 9, if they could take detailed measurements for me, I'd also make a version for that. I just shipped my first handful of orders of these yesterday and have a few more to ship out today.
  11. I dont have a 15-17 to check, let me pull up a parts list for the 15-17 and see how much would be different? Anyone know the specific differences between a 15-17 and a 18-20 for the seat mounting? I know the seats are different in their outside design, the under-seat parts look very similar though. So maybe it will work?
  12. I would say the SW-Motec would be about that, the Givi, SRC, and some others are much higher end and bulky.
  13. you misspelled "Lucky so far". Look at most of your cruisers and how the frame, oil cooler, and general oil pan design and lower engine design are less "big flat face of brittle aluminum with nothing blocking debris from the front wheel" like the CP3. The new Tracer 9 is even more exposed as the exhaust is not as in the debris path from the front wheel.
  14. Looks awesome! How does it attach to the bike? Have a pic of the underside?
  15. If you are seeing everyone talk about a failure like that, there may be a very clear reason why…. An oil pan issue is a terminal failure, and potentially life threatening if you are leaned over with an oil soaked rear tire. Heed everyone’s concern.
  16. check this out If you want some background on how shitty the eBay ones are: https://joekelly.co/photo/a-motorcycle-trip-cut-short-2020-strikes-again/ This happened in a unmarked construction zone and was a freak hit. I’ve tagged the current sw-motec plate a few times own some trails and it’s intact… the eBay Chineseium ones are made of clearly soft cheap 6000 series aluminum or below. The SW one is made of 7075. I saved $150 by going with a cheap eBay plate and it cost me a trip, and $1500 in towing and repairs.( I did the repairs myself, the tow was the money) The comment about being “too strong” is not relevant in this case as the mounts are the flex points. Hell, I even bolted a stainless plate under my sump to spread out the energy if there is a similar hit to last year.
  17. Yeah these last few trips I've missed the ability to turn on or off the heated grips... essentially unless you have cruise going on, it seems touch and go. Its a terrible setup.
  18. So... I have been so disappointed in that thumb wheel I have been tempted to work on designing a 3 button replacement that just replaces the wheel. 3 Buttons are all it needs to be. I am trying to get my hands on a take off control so I can work on some designs and not mess with my bike
  19. So I've been testing changes on my Tracer 900 Gt for a bunch of months and settled on a solution/product to make this easy. https://jk3d.us/product/yamaha-tracer-900-gt-seat-slope-modification/ Has all the parts and raises the bracket by 6-7mm and preloads the feet on the front of the seat to keep it from sinking when weight is on it. Changes the seat noticeably. and retains soft rubber bushings for the tank mount.
  20. Change the oil (Motul 7100), Flushed the brakes with Motul DOT 5.1 after having some sluggish braking in cold weather (5.1 and DOT4 LV are both very good and low viscosity DOT4 compatible fluids, should make ABS work better as well), and cleaned /inspected the chain. 9000mi on the stock chain and no issues found so far.
  21. I also have worn TCX boots above for 11 years now and have never had a leak. They are also super comfortable… nice hiked 8 miles in them @yellowstone in one day I like the all leather models more than the textile bits of the TCX line.
  22. The loaf and jug is actually kind of a normal brand out here , I think they use ConocoPhillips fuel. And a lot of these stations have dedicated 91 E0 pumps as well For some reason all the gas in Colorado and southern Wyoming is big money. Northern Wyoming and MT is .50- .75$ gal cheaper!
  23. So I had to look up what a moving pick was I am not into basketball which I think is the source of the term. And I think you are right. I wasn’t trying to use the black car as that, but the late braking the car did and the fast last minute turn meant I closed up on the back of it and shadowed it into the intersection. The white car likely did exactly as you said, and I likely moved into the A pillar blind spot at some point as well, which on some cars is big.
