  1. Conspicuity lights, cameras, action! I installed Givi handguard extenders, rad guard, fender extender, LED running lights / turn signals along with Whelen super LED's which are also turn signals, recycled from my SuperTenere, as well as the Rigid 6" LED light bar. I installed dashcam cameras front and back. The front one is mounted to the side of the LED light bar, and the rear is mounted below the top case rack. The stock windshield wasn't much good until I added the MRA spoiler recycled from a previous bike and it worked brilliantly for me, so need for a new screen. For me this bike turned out to be the goldilocks bike: not too heavy, exhilarating motor, nimble handling, comfortable and feature packed, and Yamaha reliable.
  2. I found those clear decals in the panniers and couldn't figure out where to stick them, never received a manual for the panniers. Anyone has any pics to share?
  3. received my OBD to Yamaha cable and was able to clear the code easily. All is back to normal, with full access to the menu and QS.. thanks for your help.
  4. Can you show us what you've come up with and what materials you used? Thank you.
  5. You can get those on Ebay from a bunch of sellers or aliexpress. This seller is US based and sells them for $60 shipped. Link below. I opted to pay more and get US made risers from HeliBars, which fit perfectly and without interference from cables or hoses. Introducing MotoPumps Bar Risers for the Yamaha Tracer 900 and GT | Adventure Rider It took a while, but we have the final product in our hands. Billet...
  6. Yes, Quickshifter light gone too. It's odd that the menu is disabled. Once I receive the cable and obd I will try to clear the code and update this thread. ETA May 11.
  7. I installed a new Akrapovic exhaust with zero miles on my bike.. I went out for my first ride and got an check engine light, so I checked the O2 sensor and sure enough I didn't plug it in all the way so it disconnected. I reconnected it and now have that fault,, but what I find annoying is now the TFT Menu is blocked. I can't access the TFT menu at all. Is there anyway to access the TFT menu prior to resetting the check engine light? I've ordered a 4 pin to ODB cable and OBD scan tool.
  8. It's a very popular bike in Europe and BMW has taken notice by releasing the BMW 900XR to compete with it.
  9. So about $600!! Ok..that's a lot $$$. Thanks for the link.
  10. Puig has an electrically adjustable windscreen carrying mechanism that looks very easy to install, I'd get one but I suspect it's very expensive: Electronic regulation system for screens - E.R.S. for motorcycle Yamaha MT-09 TRACER GT 2019 - Motoplastic PUIG Discover more about our product: Electronic regulation system...
  11. It may not be suitable for a center stand dolly because the metal won't think enough and also it may not be low enough to the ground. Mine weighs about 20 lbs and is probably 2 o 3 mm off the ground. 🤷‍♂️
  12. yes I am, but I'm also not sure if it's socially responsible of me to go out for a leisurely ride. I've been in confinement at home for 4 weeks now and I'm just thinking of a worst case scenario (for me) I don't want to be add to the load the health care system is facing right now. 🤷‍♂️
  13. I cleaned everything with WD40 which is what the manual suggested and I used gloves during the installation I will give it another cleaning before I start it. Bike still has zero miles on it.
  14. Weill, I installed it today. It was rather difficult getting the canister to slide onto the header's tube. I had to use a piece of wood and a rubber mallet and I hammered it at the mounting bracket above the canister and lubed the connection to the header pipe with WD40. And yes, I had a pair of hands to help which was essential.
  15. yes, new policy and I told them to begin coverage on april 15. A few more days...
  16. I tapped the ground and running light from the license plate light, and the turn signals from the their respective harnesses, and the brake light the blue wire going to the tail light. Everythings works as intended. I'm using an AdMore light bar, but the wiring harness is the same.
  17. The engine is made by Loncin in China and BMW uses its customers as their beta testers. Just witness the 800cc initial stator design which did not have enough cooling ports, so every single 800cc (and it's 650 / 700) variants will have a stator failure between 20 and 40K miles, and no, you can't just buy the redesigned rotor to prevent this failure, you have to buy the stator and the rotor for around $1000. And the latest mess from BMW? They take their best selling bike, the 1250GS and switch from Brembo front calipers to Hayes calipers which caused a stop sale order because the calipers are leaking. This also applies to 1250RT, so the calipers need to be replaced. How much testing did they do exactly before switching to a new and presumably a cheaper supplier? Oh yes, BMW uses their buyers as beta testers. That being said, the 1200 and now the 1250GS is my favorite bike but I did not buy one because the company that I work for owns 20 1250GS's and 2 of them have had catastrophic engine failures and needed all new heads on one side at between 16K to 20K miles. Since I switched to Yamaha, at first with two SuperTenere's and now Tracer, I'm not concerned with long term reliability and maintenance costs.
  18. As a former BMW owner of many many bikes, give this bike some time before the recalls and known issues begin to become known, and the parallel twin will never have the hooligan character of the Tracer's incomparable triple. As a former BMW owner (650GS, 800GS, 1150RT, 1200GS, 1600GT, to name but a few), I no longer need to keep up with the latest known issues on the forums, but instead hang out on this "boring" forum.. or previously the SuperTenere forum.
  19. Is it possible to remove the stock headers and exhaust without removing the center stand? I'd like to install a full Akrapovic system and would prefer not to remove and re-install the center stand.
  20. My insurance coverage begins mid April.. .
