  1. The plug for it is under the windshield mounting bracket.. plug'n'play.
  2. Welcome! Where in Ontario are you? Post a pic of the new bike when you have it!
  3. I have a few runs on the highway and rode around town as well and I'm very pleased with this screen. if you look at the aerodynamic test in the pic I posted before or in the link below, it's exactly accurate. https://puig.tv/uploads/products/600019/9725/aerodinamyc-test.pdf You get a bit of air on your helmet but no buffeting. Then I added my clip on MRA spoiler and was able to ride with my visor open, no wind or buffeting. I think I would recommend the touring screen with the built in adjustable spoiler, it really makes a difference. I didn't because I had the MRA clamp on one. I had the screen in the low position with the MRA spoiler and before that, I had it in the high position.
  4. My first ride I noticed the quieter airflow and no turbulence in the high position. I will be doing a highway ride tomorrow. I was going to get the MRA screen, but its 50 cm in overall length vs Puig Touring which is 65 cm, so 15 cm taller. Here's a side by side comparison size wise: https://puigusa.com/uploads/products/600019/9725/comparasion-test.pdf
  5. Here's the original screen placed over the Puig touring screen with the mounting holes on both screens lined up. I placed green masking tape to the edges of the stock screen to highlight its size vs Puig My Tracer GT has the Givi handguard extenders installed and was concerned they would hit the screen but they don't, the second pic shows the handlebars at full lock. I also have 40 mm mirror extenders. Installed in the low position: in the raised position: I'll be trying it out this week in the city and on the highway and report my findings.
  6. Welcome aboard.. I went from a SuperTenere to a Vstrom 650 as I wanted less weight, but good touring capability. I had it for 900 km and sold it. It was a very good bike but I really wanted more power. The Tracer 900GT fit the bill perfectly, less weight and more power, good wind protection, good range, cruise control, heated grips, adjustable screen and Yamaha reliable with a long long valve inspection interval (42,000 km)
  7. I'm heading home this weekend. I'll get a chance to try it out next week and will post here.
  8. Currently visiting in the UK and decided to try the Puig Touring screen. You can order it with or without an adjustable spoiler. I opted for no spoiler as I have a clamp on MRA spoiler that I could try on. Will report on it once I'm back home and it's installed. Compared to stock:
  9. What @betoney said... and even if you have new. bike fever and want a newer Tracer, no bike out of the box is going to have suspension spec'd for a 300 # rider, so if you get a new bike, you're going to want to upgrade the suspension and the very least have a spring rated for your weight. I'd save my money and just go with the best suspension you can afford spec'd to your weight.
  10. I heard those too.. with big explosive backfiring... ridiculous.
  11. It's unfortunate to hear about these road closures for bikes in EU. The Akrapovic is a quality exhaust and is not loud or obnoxious unless you remove the db killer. I'm currently in London, UK and there are certainly riders here with very loud and very obnoxious exhausts which end up ruining it for all of us and giving all riders a bad reputation.
  12. Welcome back! It says a lot when you decide to buy the same bike again!
  13. I place the bike on the side stand, then slide the center stand dolly under the bike and deploy the center stand. The front wheel doesn't roll over it. The dolly has a clearance of about 3mm off the ground. I've had this one for over 20 years, so I don't recall what I paid for it, but you should be able to find one in Australia. just do a google search.
  14. Welcome aboard! I too had an FJR and downsized to a SuperTenere for a few years and now I'm on 900GT without giving up the power band, it has a lot of power and without the weight penalty. Let's see your hers and his Tracers!
  15. I was merely pointing out that the boxer engine despite the easier access to the valves is no longer as simple as it used to be where a valve check could be done by the side of the road. For either bike, that's beyond my abilities. I've seen it done and I'd rather pay the tech to do it.
  16. The 1250 boxer uses special spherical valve shims and if the valves need adjusting the cams have to be removed, a lot more complicated than the old locknut adjusters on air/oil cooled boxers. Also to bleed the brakes, you need to attach the bike to the dealer's computer or if you have a GS911 to open up the circuits. The rest can be done by the home mechanic with average skills. I owned a K1600 and couldn't get rid of it fast enough. I had so many problems with it, and it turned me off the brand after having owned nearly a dozen BMW's prior. I'm on my 4th Yamaha and the ownership experience has been drama and worry free.
  17. It's a great bike, I've ridden one for many years thru it's various generations, including the latest 1250GS. I used to own a 1200. Ask the dealer what the first major service at 20,000 km costs. My riding buddy just reached this milestone and he was quoted a $1000 for the following, copied and pasted his message to me: the 20K service is insane. basically do EVERYTHING. oil, filter, air filter, spark plugs, valves, final drive oil, brake flush! i don’t think there is anything else to do! My reply was: BMW: Bring More Wallet It is a great bike, money aside, it's a lot of weight to move about in the garage or when parking it.
  18. I have the full Akra on mine and love it for its looks and sound.. not too loud and obnoxious. Rather quiet under steady throttle but sings beautifully under hard acceleration and burbles with small pops under deceleration. It's a lot of money but to me I just wanted it and didn't try to justify the cost. It's a quality kit.
  19. I needed to get to 1000 km / 600 miles to have the 1st service done so I had to go for a ride.. Loving the bike!
  20. Félicitations! Vous habitez dans le paradis des motards!! Me voici chez vous! Bienvenue à bord!
  21. Do Tracers sold in Oz have the ignition immobilizer? In US and Canada, they don't. And also in Canada, yamaha sells the SuperTenere with immoblizer but in the US they don't have it.
  22. Congrats!! I also had an FJR1300 and although it was a fabulous bike, I prefer the lighter weight of the 900GT.. The GT is a better buy, it has so many more features over the regular Tracer.
  23. I have grip puppies on mine as well as I like the grips to be thicker and having owned bikes with 1, 2, 4 and 6 cylinders, I really don't feel any intrusive vibes. I test rode a BMW S1000XR, vibrations? My hands and feet were numb after 2 hours. I got off the bike, both hands and feet were tingling. The Tracer's triple, to me is very smooth.
  24. Which Bagster seat have you ordered? The basic standard one with Ready Luxe or upgraded BULTEX foam? What's the delivery time generally if ordered from Motostorm.it?
  25. hmm.. my son is a machinist.. but I hate to support copy cat knock offs. Thanks for the info.
