Why is my Beak floppy?

Recommended Posts

I added the Puig beak to my 2020 Tracer and I can move it slightly up and down when I put pressure on the tip.  I've checked the two screws and the two clips, and everything is snug.  Is the beak supposed to have some play?

During the install. I noticed that the inner lip on the beak just slides into a groove but doesn't fit snugly.  Have I done something wrong?

It’s floppy because it doesn’t belong there. Remove that atrocity at once

If mine is nice and stiff does that mean it does belong there.:)

My beak is proud, strong and never floppy. Check yours is well attached at the root and give it a shine after a hard ride. A protective coat sometimes helps if you’re riding in dirty conditions, and you should always proceed with caution when trying a new route. I prefer a smooth ride as the extra vibrations from rougher conditions may cause some temporary discomfort.

If you are still experiencing difficulties with your beak after some basic checks, you should seek professional help from someone who has seen other beaks and who may be able to offer you extra support.

I realized that there was no point on trying to save it....it would be flopping around in the wind and would eventually dangle and get caught in the wheel, so I decided to remove it myself:

Top box added.  Feels pretty rigid LOL.

You know what would really balance that top box out visually?   A nice beak….

😳

It would be even more balanced if he took that miniature dog off the saddle.
