grogsym
I want that one! Another good day on the bike yesterday hampered by the noise and the wind blast. Happy to be the Givi-pig, not sure if it is available on that site that Wessie posted? My Italian is sketchy...click the English flag icon at the top you numpty! emails are sent in a version of English as well Ah-ha, yes, welcome to the 20th century and all that...Feel free to keep the Union Flag, honestly, have it, it's yours :)Now excuse me while I go order! basstodave
Puig Clip-On Windscreen Visor 9" x 3.54" http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-clip-on-windscreen-visor#fitment_tab OR GIVI S180T Shield 9.68" x 4.88" http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-universal-windshield-deflector OR MRA X-Creen Sport Variable Windscreen Spoiler Blade 10" x 4" http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mra-x-creen-sport-variable-windscreen-spoiler-blade I am thinking about trying one of these on the OEM windshield. I am 5'6". Leaning toward the Givi. The MRA clamps may be too wide for the OEM.
grogsym
I went for the Givi for ease of transaction as it will be coming from the same place as the screen. From experience so far it's a bit trial and error. However, if I find myself in a nice calm cocoon then it will probably be overkill for yourself, as I stand a good 13" taller! Premium Member wessie Posted May 26, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted May 26, 2015 If the Givi screen doesn't work for you I'll swap it for your Yamaha touring screen, as it is sitting in a box under my bed... This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is.
jordo27
I have ordered the screen and the additional fairing for the screen. Will let you know when things arrive...Great work grogsym. You are legend. Please keep us updated.....I really hope it works. Then it will be a wait in Aust until we can get it.
grogsym
Thanks Wessie, I will bear that in mind. Hopefully I will end up having several hundreds of pounds of screen under your bed before I can trade up for a GS Jordo27, legend is a little much. Maybe just totally awesome, brilliant at a push... basstodave
Do you think the OEM windshield too flexible to support a spoiler effectively?
grogsym
I think it would support it fine Dave, ie it wouldn't break. I have a feeling part of the buffeting problem is from the flex in the screen, so this may remain if you simply extend the screen. Who knows! My screen should arrive on Friday, I will try lots of combos to find out the differences that are made.
bubba
My crystal ball is showing that you won't be pleased with the clip-on visor. Disclaimer, my crystal ball is wrong 50% of the time.
grogsym
To make my findings a little more objective (even more so than Bubba's balls), I have ordered a cheap anemometer to measure wind speed. The screen has made it to the UK already, so will be with me by Monday. The anemometer by Tuesday. The results... August?
bubba
I tried to order the GIVI screen and mounting kit (they sell the 2 items bundled) from http://www.accessorimotostore.com but they don't ship to Canada I then tried to order below from carpimoto. http://www.carpimoto.it/en-CA/Bike_Yamaha_MT-09-Tracer-FJ-09/Specific/Brand_Givi/45204_D2122KIT-GIVI-2122DT-Reinforced-Brackets-for-Givi-Windscreen-Yamaha-MT-09-Tracer.htm http://www.carpimoto.it/en-CA/Bike_Yamaha_MT-09-Tracer-FJ-09/Specific/Brand_Givi/45203_2122DT-GIVI-Windscreen-for-Yamaha-MT-09-Tracer.htm They appear to ship to Canada but when it went to display the page for my bank's MasterCard verfication the page came up blank. Tried twice and same thing What's even more strange is I can't find a Contact Us link on Carpimoto's page to inquire about this issue. :(

Premium Member nhridah Posted May 29, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted May 29, 2015 Tinted shorty looks good, I am trying to like the larger touring screen it just doesn't look right on the FJ.
Order66
Tinted shorty looks good, I am trying to like the larger touring screen it just doesn't look right on the FJ.Agreed... can't do the barn door look. I need something that looks like it was made for the bike, not a slab with the right holes drilled in it. s e t h 2015 FJ-09 (The Me Bike) - CalSci, RAM, Shad, Givi, CrampBuster, Grip Puppies, GoPro, my custom Garage Door Opener Mod 2014 Valkyrie (The We Bike) - Too much to list, and no one on this forum cares anyway
