Premium Member keithu Posted January 1, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted January 1, 2018 I had a nice ride out to the Oregon coast today to finish 2017. The day started a bit chilly with temps near freezing in the Willamette Valley, but by lunch time the coast was lovely. I met up with fellow forum members redfjniner and Huck for lunch in Oceanside. No ice on the beach this year. We weren't the only people out for a final 2017 ride.
wordsmith
Very nice pix, keithu! Riding a fully-farkled 2019 MT-09 Tracer 900 GT from my bayside home in South East Queensland, Australia.
Supporting Member betoney Posted January 1, 2018 Supporting Member Share Posted January 1, 2018 I'm jealous, it looks like you had fantastic weather for a ride. Its 7pm and I just walked in the house after working all day. ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
Premium Member keithu Posted January 1, 2018 Author Premium Member Share Posted January 1, 2018 It was pretty darn cold this morning. There was freezing fog in Albany and I almost aborted five miles into the ride. Glad I didn't!
BBB
I love that top photo. Three nominally identical type of bike, with differing windscreens, handguards, engine guards, luggage etc etc. Just shows how we like to customise and add farkles. And on the subject of farkles, what is that fat black cylinder on the right footpeg of the red bike on the left of screen? Red 2015 Tracer, UK spec (well, it was until I started messing with it...) Premium Member 2and3cylinders Posted January 1, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted January 1, 2018 I checked the temperature of my bikes last night just before the stroke of 12. With the T-Stat set at 55 in my insulated shop the VTR and RD were comfy at around 45 but the FJ being farther from the heater was only 35. But it's youngest and now in its second hybernation cycle so it knows the score. This morning at dawn ambient was 8 below 0F...
koth442
I'm jealous. I've been debating trucking the GSXR to Florida and doing a trackday. I need some seat time BAD. '15 FJ09

That is redfjniner's NOS injection system. He doesn't like to talk about it.
