The decline in motorcycle sales is primarily a North American phenomenon, and to a lesser extent in Europe. Worldwide sales are up, especially in APJ where more profitable premium models are gaining popularity.

Incorrect, motorcycle sales in the UK have been in terminal decline in the last 12 months.  source:  https://www.motofire.com/2017/09/every-single-category-uk-motorcycle-sales/

Looks like Yamaha had an impressive year for 2017 despite the overall decline in motorcycle sales:

Funny that article has a pic of Chad Reed on a yamaha. Dude runs for husky now
I think they used a 2017 photo of Reed since the article was about 2017 sales.

That would make sense. Didn't think about that, i guess I'm still butt hurt team blue let him go ?
I think they have one of the best ranges of bikes, certainly the best of the Japanese brands. They have invested heavily in Europe, making bikes in France & Italy plus selling their engines to other makers. They seem to do well in the quad sector as well.
Together with Piaggio (mostly scooters), BMW & Triumph, they are bucking the trend in the 2 wheeler market in Europe.
This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is.
Okay, but I stand by my assertion that sales are up in other regions, hence the increased profits. It's right there in Yamaha's own press release.
