Friday was a bit too nice to sit around the house for lunch so I headed up river(Mississippi) to find some grub. I took a few pics along the way:

A quick stop near oak alley then found A good place to stop on the levee.

I found an old cafe with some etouffe!

I crossed paths with a beast in the swamp on the way home. ;)

Nice. I love a lazy weekday ride on occasion. No where in particular to go, just explore the country side and find a hole in the wall cafe’ for lunch.

Thanks guys. Now I need the side cases so I can bring leftovers home!

In all seriousness, that has been one of my favorite aspects of the FJ. I stopped at a little roadside taco trailer last Sunday for breakfast, and ended up bringing home three dozen fresh homemade pork tamales for the family.

I’ve never had a bike with hard bags before, and now can’t fathom being without them.

I wanted to post this up as a comparison to the last photos I posted. The river is getting high!

The water in the parking lot is seepage through the levee, it hasn't rained here in awhile.

Wow! That stinks. The army corps of engineers did open up the local spillway but the water still rose up. I live about 13 miles from the river and if the levee would break, I'd probably have water at my doorstep.
