krucymucy
Red is for next year. Saw it on yamaha Europe website. I like my midnight black with blurple wheels. tktplz
I do like the more red look. Mine's the 2015 Candy Apple Red model. I would have preferred the Yamaha Blue but for $7.000 and only 2348 miles on it, I couldn't refuse it. What it looked like when I bought it; What it looks like now; I do like the extra red....... 8-) Ain't no fun when the rabbit gets the gun! Supporting Member betoney Posted October 3, 2018 Supporting Member Share Posted October 3, 2018 This is a screenshot of yamaha motor europe website. I have to say, I personally HATE the new colors. The dull gray with a bright red side shroud looks like a terrible mis-match. I agree with @David that the bag lids need to be black. ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
bugie
This years blue and the black with blue wheels will remain. I too agree the grey with red cowl looks very mismatched.
xcsp
Found that the pic I posted was of one someone on the internet had photoshopped the color. Too bad, but maybe it will push Yamaha to consider it down the road.

You can add a candy red fender now. Get it from a 2017 FZ-09. Bike bandit has them for $116. I have come close to getting one myself. 2015 red FJ-09: Cal Sci screen, Sargent seat, ECU flash, slider combo, cruise, Rizoma bars, Matts forks, JRi shock, slipper clutch

If its the same color red, I might give it a try on my bike. ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***

I have not seen them side-by-side, but Yamaha calls both of them "Candy Red" on their respective web pages. See the specifications section on 2017 FZ-09 and 2015 FJ-09. I would expect that they would use different names if they were different shades of red, but I don't know that to be true. 2015 red FJ-09: Cal Sci screen, Sargent seat, ECU flash, slider combo, cruise, Rizoma bars, Matts forks, JRi shock, slipper clutch

Candy red on any bike, weather a cruiser or sport bike is the same color. Look up the number and they will be the same. Ken, Candy Ass L.D.R. Where did you find the 2015 Red as "Lava Red". I have always thought it to be "Candy Red" same as the 2014 FJR's. Watch this: Yamaha Color Chart Ken, Candy Ass L.D.R. Maybe its just what Aftermarket Paint Color is called. To make it even more confusing, Color Rite lists it as Deep Red Metallic for both FJ and FJR. ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
