  1. Its a 1st gen '08. Bought it from a friend, so I'm the 3rd owner. It's been through its mods, farkles, etc so its good now. Switching between the T9GT and C14, it would be great if Kawi can put on CC and QS. Being a heavier bike, it does take some speed to get it manageable and flickable around the twisties. What is it that you don't like about the C14?
  2. Thanks @BostonDanny!! Super happy with the T9GT, definitely has checked all the boxes for me too and my fave bike! I still have my Kawi C14, different beasts and riding but I've had more fun on the Tracer! With the summer heat, the T9GT is the go-to bike for cooler quicker miles. But come fall/winter, the C14 and the engine heat it generates, I like to call it a feature since I don't have to add too much heated gear.
  3. Currently at ~9k today. It's my '22 T9GT birthday, bought it literally 1 year ago at 1 mile. I flashed the ECU at roughly 4k earlier this year before putting the LV exhaust so I can get a feel what the ride difference felt like. So far vast improvements with ECU + exhaust upgrades! Since you're there at the ECU, it made sense to check the air filter.
  4. Yes ECU is pretty much the same as MT-09. Both are under the tank, on the air filter. Just a few more layers of plastic to pull off. I used this MT-09 video to get an idea. I also checked my air filter while I was there and just needed a quick shake and clean. As for the ECU flashes, luckily I have 2 in the area...2 wheel dyno works and Vcyclenut. I chose Vcyclenut as he provided real world testing on his MT-09 including charts and other variables like exhaust and air filter improvements. https://www.vcyclenut.com/2021---23-mt09--tracer-gt2022-xsr900.html A world of improvement when you flash your ECU and if you have upgraded your exhaust. Much more refined throttle in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears instead and overall smoothness in all the ranges. Good luck on your ECU flash and let us know how it goes!
  5. Welcome! Lots of new folks joining this forum and interested and buying both old and new Tracers! Hope you get a new one. Best to use the Yamaha US link and input some various zip codes and see what availability is like. Most dealers should probably start to see new models come in eventually. And yea it is kind of what it is in terms of Yamaha just sends dealers the bikes, but if you're on good terms with a dealer including a small reserve / down payment, that will help get you in line. Since our Seattle WA area dealers received loads of '22 models come in between Sept and Nov last year, dealers will try closeout sales to make room for the new ones arriving. https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/models.php?product=204&action=productPage
  6. Doesn't look like the radar can be turned off as it's connected to the ACC. 9 GT+ owner's manual here => https://ownersmanuals2.com/yamaha/tracer-900-gt-2023-owners-manual-94516 Lots of new tech features on the + model including the the smartphone connectivity, BT and the immobilizer key system.
  7. The Tracers are definitely a great bike to step down to or downsize without losing the power or fun yet still are very reliable. I jump on my C14 every now and then and appreciate the Tracer size for what it is. I think you'll be happy no matter what Tracer you choose.
  8. Congrats on the new T9GT and welcome! Lots of info and threads on our bikes... Yea I went with the LV full exhaust. Definitely adds a lot more 'umph' and rumbling roar without being too obnoxious. Looks good without having it stick out back out near the side case. When I first installed it, had the db killer out but after a few rides put it back in since there was no HP gain.
  9. Will videos work for you? There's plenty of YT videos online and reviews... https://youtu.be/hQM4-sHivhc
  10. Yea that area is fantastic! Loved every road out to the coast, or to the mountains! Our C14 group had its annual rally based in Canyonville and we were doing so many roads, just want to head back down again with some buddies to do some more exploration.
  11. With the battery right there under the seat, maybe something got shorted so check the fuses.
  12. Just a suggestion-- maybe clear the code, put the bike on the center stand, spin the front wheel first and see if it trips an error, if not repeat for the rear wheel. But sounds like the front to me.
  13. Yea I would be in the same boat. I was originally considering the Super Tenere but couldn't get or find a new model during the pandemic. So instead I opted for the new Tracer which I'm totally happy to have. But would still love to have a T7 for the off road capability, so having CC and heated grips would tip me over.
  14. Yea the OBD2 port is under the passenger seat for the '22 T9GT. It's also reddish color, not sure about other years' colors. Can be seen here from Moore's ECU flash =>
  15. ^^^ ^^^ yes on my '22 for the threads. Don't think that has changed at all.
  16. Nice! Although in my zip code / area many of the dealers still have a lot of '22 inventory so won't see one for awhile. Would love to just demo test ride and see how the ACC is. So far I'm happy with my non plus '22 T9GT.
  17. No leak experienced yet, but yes spray with soapy water to verify any leaks. So far both on the old rubber valves and new metal valves that I've used, all good after a few thousand miles.
  18. I added a similar TPMS product to my Tracer as yours Lather, but wanted to be free of any app as I don't have the phone out when it gets cold and rainy here in the Pacific Northwest. Luckily found this one on Amazon which has a nice status screen to view the tire pressure info. Definitely miss the dashboard integration like our C14. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B7YP4FX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I've used it when I still had rubber valves but now that I just changed out my tires and replaced it with metal valves, its definitely easier to remove and use.
  19. I've been a huge supporter of Peak Design's mounts and cases when it first Kick Started including this motorcycle RAM mount. I've had it on my T9GT as well as the ever so vibration heavy C14. So far my iPhone 12 Pro has been solid. The whole eco-system of case + various mounts works seamlessly. Definitely would recommend over the quadlock.
  20. Welcome and glad you're enjoying your new ride! Hope you can share some photos of your T9GT and any of the mods you've done. Cheers mate!
  21. Thanks for the info and heads up. I haven't received any info from my dealer yet or if mine is affected. Saw another post regarding this and the affected VIN ranges but couldn't tell if my Tracer was part of it.
  22. Yes SW Motech gear is expensive especially direct from them. You can get their stuff cheaper from other sites like Revzilla provided its in stock. But definitely worth the quality and support.
  23. Ok I need to head back to Astoria for this! We were out there a few weeks ago for some fish & chips at Bowpicker, but I love a good BBQ burger too. I also just mounted up Road 6's, so definitely would love to see how these feel over the T32s. Thanks for sharing the tavern food review!
  24. Not sure if you have Instagram account (I don't) but I would find & tag Christian VandeVelde, ex-pro racer and now moto-commentator & analysis for Peacock/NBC. He's commentating from the back of a moto for this year's TdF which I suspect is a Niken and could probably help get some pictures or maybe even a video!
