  1. So I always run in STD mode and find it to be perfect. I'm puzzled why you feel only 50% improvement. Are you sure it's flashed? Did you ride north of 114 MPH? The only other thing affecting smoothness is a TB sync.
  2. It's the angle of the pic. The mark on the swingarm is right at the rear of the block, at the first mark.
  3. Maybe the beginning of the production run they did send the swingarms to the DID Chain factory. Maybe it's right next door. Japan is not a large place. I DID check both sides multiple times now. I marked a random link to know when I've gone around. I laid on my side with a flashlight and spun it around.
  4. Hmmm...How do they know what bike it's going in. You have an ST1300 right?
  5. Get it installed yes. Have "any" slack to run it, not happening.
  6. Welcome back. I browse Craigslist daily. People are asking crazy money there for bikes. Don't know if they're getting it.
  7. The question remains. There is a closed loop in the cast swingarm that the endless chain runs through...How?? My chain has zero wear at 7500 miles. I can't even pull the chain off the rear sprocket. Completely tight. In sliding the axle and blocks forward the axle hits the end of the slot in the swingarm first. At that point chain is tight as a guitar string trying to put 17 tooth in.
  8. I like the tape trick! I count flats on the adj. bolts. I see your master link, but I also see your Vortex rear sprocket. Not OEM chain.
  9. https://www.batterystuff.com/powersports-batteries/sYTZ10S.html I've been using these for many years. Quick delivery and great life. Just fully charge before first start. I'll be putting this one in when the time comes. Remove foam and a perfect fit. https://www.batterystuff.com/powersports-batteries/sYTZ14S.html Larger with more CCA.
  10. Is that a pic of the OEM chain or a replacement? I know what they look like I've installed a few. I don't have one. 🤷‍♂️
  11. Nope, all stock. I must have got a good chain. 7500 miles and no stretch. I do lube it with Dupont at every fill. I'll just keep riding it the way it is, not going to waste a good chain. I still wonder how an endless chain goes through a swing arm. I scrutinized every pin on it, all the same.
  12. I'd bet it's the battery. Too early to blow stators or reg/rec's. If so you are the first, and there are a lot of high mileage bikes here with no track record of charging problems. Now batteries on low mileage 4 year old bikes...Normal.
  13. Well, no surprises. 110 link endless chain. Checked both sides for a master link, nothing. Does beg the question how do they do that through a reinforced swingarm??? Does Yamaha send swingarms to DID chains for installation? Does Yamaha have a heavy duty DID stamp tool?
  14. Hmmmm...After dinner I'll go get intimate with my chain and report back.
  15. I guess To cover all bases I should count my links. It was used with only 1K miles on it. Can't see how the chain or sprockets were messed with. There is no master link (endless OEM chain)that much I know.
  16. Strange. I couldn't quite get it on, and if I could, chain slack would be way to tight.
  17. Just ordered for my 15. Was out a few hours today and Sargent seat kept me sliding forward binding the boys in my briefs. Reasonable price with shipping. 👍
  18. Sadly Seat Concepts not making 15-17 seats anymore. Those with a 15 and 16...Do the APS adjustment. IT WORKS!!
  19. To add to this topic, the front sprocket can be reversed and ran the other way. Maybe do this at 7k miles?? This is for the OEM front. I have 2 spare fronts, different MFG.'s and they both can do this also. Just check the shoulder on both sides to see if it measures the same. Too OCD/anal....Maybe.
  20. For all who have gone to a 17 tooth front please advise. 15 FJ-09 over 7k miles on OEM chain and sprockets. Thought I'd try a 17 front and see what I thought. I don't have enough swingarm slot room up front. never had this problem on any bike. Rear axle ALL the way forward and not enough slack in chain to put on 17 tooth front. If I could there would be ZERO chain slack. Guess I should be happy my chain has zero wear yet. Pic is all OEM chain and sprockets with my normal 1.5 in. chain slack. Of course pic is upside down. GRRRRR!!
  21. +1 ECU flash followed by APS adjustment. Makes throttle control super smooth with great power.
  22. I can read everything on my 15's dash...Yet. I can't go smaller. I'm nearsighted. I think if I got bifocals I'd be hitting road debris all the time. still think I'll be keeping my 15 till they plant me.
  23. Welcome to the forum. Find a used one yet? Any high speed wobble is mostly rider induced. Bike starts wobbling and rider grabs bars harder. Fight that instinct, hold bars very loosely, grab tank with knees, and it cycles away. First years of FJ have quick steering. Tracer years it's slower with a longer wheelbase. I like the quick steering.
  24. Just carefully pull them out, then apply silicone lube and they go back in with a push. my seat is in the low setting. I had some rubber car bushings in my junk drawer. I trimmed them and attached to the High setting area to push on the seat base. One at the rear also. Just going to have to see what you have lying around and make it work.
