  1. Also on my list of upgrades... Hows that rear extended fender working? I've been thinking about getting that as well or making my own...
  2. I'm in that group but haven't ridden with any of them yet. They had what looked like a great rally not that long ago.
  3. Yup that was me at one time, back when I lived in FL.... I wore gloves at least but always riding in a T-shirt and jeans, maybe only a few times in shorts, but definitely never flops.
  4. Spent a few bucks more form something with some style... but this is definitely on my agenda! Great idea with the al-u-mini-um (for our British friends) spacers! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K3PQ2T0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. I tend to not ride during extreme heat, really mid 90's is just not fun. But when I do, my favorite thing to do is stop at a gas station or super market and stand in the beer cooler for about 10 minutes 👌
  6. I'm a total newbie when it comes to adjusting the suspension. It's on my list of things to do for sure. Pretty sure I had about 40-42 lbs in it though
  7. My last tire... gonna have to work harder on the new one haha
  8. What was your route? I'm not far from you but want to ride out to CO sometime in the future! Did you slab it?
  9. My buddy has an older one... crazy big and heavy bike. The motor is bigger than most small cars
  10. According to the wiring diagram it's Chocolate - left, and Dark Green - right and yes there apparently is a difference between chocolate and brown 😂
  11. Yeah that thread and post is the main reason I started this one and contacted them about the wiring! I am planning to tie into a different 12v source, likely turn signal for the switched 12v connection and like you said testing some wires for 12v with the high beam switch. Totally agree in the wiring being more and more complicated! I know enough basic circuitry to get me in trouble but by no means working on this kind of stuff on the regular!
  12. I have that as a back up plan but it's a 3 position switch, low - off - high
  13. So this is everything I heard back from the manufacturer: Our kit does have the full harness and relay, so all main power is being pulled from the battery, the only power draw from tapping into anything is the skene trigger wire that pulls very little power. The wire is not tapping into the system to trigger a relay, just picking up a signal, we do this quite often on the Honda Africa twin which also uses factory LED headlights.. as long as you can find a 12v source that comes on with the high beam the system will work and not cause any damage to the system or the bike.. If there are no wires to the headlight that have 12v positive at high beam operation(only), I would suggest trying the high beam indicator light, #62 on the diagram. all you need is a 12v power source that come on and off with the high beam. The skene will not backfeed. tip run the red skene wire and black relay trigger wire to the same switched power source.. the wire you are concerned with for the high beam input is the white skene wire, pulls .02 amps and 1/4 watt.. barley measurable,, should be fine at the high beam indicator light They even offered to install them for me but, unfortunately they are based in Washington state and that's a bit far from TN.
  14. I probably don't, however I don't want to blind the hell out of oncoming traffic when used as running lights. The dimmer allows the lights to function as both running lights (0-100% power in 10% increments of my choosing) and high beams (100%). It also contains an alert feature that pulses the lights for better visibility when you flash high beams twice.
  15. Pegasus LED Light kit According the the specs on their website, it is CANBUS compatible... I've emailed them about it and hope to hear back soon.
  16. Here are close ups of the manual along with the number and color keys..
  17. Found the wiring diagram in the PDF service Manual I have. Will post that shortly.. Looks like the yellow/black runs from the handle bar switch to the headlight control unit.
  18. Electrical geniuses of the internet! I started to install some aux lighting on my FJ this past weekend with an inline dimming controller by Skene. Basically its to function as powered with the ignition all the time and operate at whatever power level you set it to (RED - Switched power). Where I'm currently stuck thanks to reading some of the other posts on this forum about the DC-DC converter is what I would tap my WHITE wire into as it would normally go to the high beam wire to tell the controller when to run at 100% power. Any thoughts? I haven't contacted the manufacturer yet but that might be my next step. Anyone have a wiring diagram of our bikes?
  19. Can someone share that wiring diagram with me as well? @wordsmith @kimmie
