  1. Removed the Yamaha toaster oven and replaced with a Delkevic Exhaust. It's got a growl to it now!
  2. New tires mounted today and changed out the 24,000 mile old factory front fork fluid with a Dave Moss Dump and run using Motul 10W.
  3. Any pictures of the fuel line plumbing, details of the mount, etc,,,,, would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
  4. I placed the control unit under the seat latch mechanism and modified the "tray" to allow the wires to route better. Lots of room under there!
  5. Finally! Bike is back together. Running well and MCCruise control installed, calibrated and as soon as all the tupperware is back on I will perform a test ride. I added a label to the top of the Cruise control buttons and the other pic is two "custom" tools I had to make to aid in my F ups! The blue tape on the pliers is holding two 1/4" nuts in place to help squeeze in the damn near impossible fuel tank quick (yeah right!) release button and the other is because I F'd up the threads on the cam chain tensioner mount and have to chase them with a tap. The tap was too long so I cut it down and fitted it to a AC ratchet wrench I had. Worked perfectly for the new APE Tensioner. Time to ride! Oh and the extra parts from removing the AIS hoses and installing backoff plates.
  6. My Bike is a 2016 FJ09 not a 2015. Would it be a different part for a 2016?
  7. My Bike is a 2016 FJ09 not a 2015. Would it be a different part for a 2016?
  8. Pro-X is what I used. Amazon was the best to find them. Although you will have to "dig" through to find the size that will work within your range. I purchased 1.70mm and 1.75mm sizes with 5 each per bag at about $13.00 a bag. Compared with Yamaha at about $12.00 to $25. (depending on the size) each! Sizes are printed on each shim. https://tinyurl.com/2rv98m2x
  9. I just found this one? Anyone have any experience with this brand? https://tinyurl.com/2p8hkhfd
  10. I just got off the phone with Schnitz Racing and they said they don't have a manual APE CCT for my bike? Anyone have the right info on this please? Bike needs to be put back together! Thanks!
  11. Bike is broke down. I was able to use the exhaust shims for all of the intake valves keeping them within spec and have new shims ordered for the exhaust valves from Pro-X 1.70mm and 1.75 to get me well within the spec range for exhaust valves. Amazingly enough I was able to find them on Amazon.
  12. 24,000 Service. My bike is in pieces! 1. Flushed brake fluids - Done 2. Removed Tupperware and tank - Done 3. Removed and cleaned air filter - Done 4. Removed drained radiator and flushed engine coolant - Done 5. Removed and will replace Spark plugs - 1/2 Done 6. Pulled Valve cover and measured valve clearance - Done (ugly- exhausts! See picture) Tomorrow. 7. Pull cams, measure shims and order/source new shims based on valve clearance measurements to bring into spec 8. If I can find them locally great. If not wait for USPS or UPS........... snooze. Ride my wife's bike to work Other items. 1. Replace Front Fork oil| 2. Replace Coolant 3. Replace oil and Filter 4. Replace Clutch cable 5. Clean/lube and adjust chain 6. Replace hastily installed auxiliary wiring with a better routing to my accessories 7. Install new MC Cruise Control (why did I wait so long!) 8. Install Tupperware and Tank 9. Ride! I will follow up
  13. I found Backpacks are an annoyance on long ride. They don’t hold cold very long even packed with ice and volumes are only 100 ounces at the very most. My artic holds 1 gallon 128 oz. packed with ice it’ll last 5-8 summer time hours before I use it and have to replenish.
  14. Well shit, piss phuck! Dude that sucks. Glad to hear you didn't get severely injured in the collision. Hope they have insurance! Heal quick and get back on that horse soon!
  15. Finally received my certification from the IBA. Next plan is a In state Montana BBG1500. Probably some time in June 2022.
  16. I'll pencil it in, but probably have to work that day.
  17. It's a great bike. IMHO its shortcomings far under weigh (joke there) all of the other options. Although a larger fuel tank to allow 250 miles between fills would be nice.
  18. GT air. Shoei has always fit me well. Started with a T2? then a RF200, 700, 900, 2 ea X-11, Synchro-tech, Multi-tech and now the GT air. Yes I'm that old......
  19. Nice write up! Great places indeed and yeah the FJ09 looks tiny compared to the wings etc.... I'll have to ear mark this for next year (if it runs) I haven't done a rally in several years and this appears to be a good one on roads I am very familiar with. Thanks!
  20. I got almost 20,000 miles on the stock chain. Changed to a Gold DID X ring and new sprockets from Sprocket Center. The new chain made the bike smoother. Before the change it felt like I was riding on marbles.
  21. Flair is perfect! I love the gold chain. But how do you ride the bike upside down? 🤣
  22. Cheap 10w DRL below always on. Above Denali S4 lights switched with factory supplied switch. Mounted on GIVI highway bars.Finished a BBG1500 last month. No issues seeing everything at night. The Denali S4 while smaller than their monster cousins are superb and a bit less costly. But hey, not seeing objects on the road at night can be more costly! This winter I will install a lighted switch so I know when they are on in the daytime.
  23. I've been using the Harbor Freight cheap for years. Have the mojo lever and blocks. Bull snot or Ru-glide is your best friend when it comes to both removing and remounting the tire. A good high volume compressor really helps and a large 3"-4" ratchet strap can help in setting the bead if required. Pre-warming your tires up really helps as well. The No-Mar, if you have the money, is a better option.
