  1. I shoved my phone in here pointing up to get these pics You can see the zip ties holding it to the frame
  2. Oops just read that. I meant part of the frame... Autocorrect strikes again. It's been raining all day. Maybe tomorrow.
  3. Probably not without removing my gas tank. I'll see if there's any wierd angle that I can see it from. Can't miss it though if you remove the fuel tank there's a part of the from that goes sideways. I just put some rubber to reduce vibration and zip tied it down to the frame.
  4. I got the Denali soundbomb split version on my tracer. Everyone ignore my horn before. Now only half the time (South Florida). Sounds like a truck. The split is nice. I found a nice "hollow" space under the tank for the air compressor and the air lines just run up front. Horn is mounted right next to the dinky OEM horn. Both sound off when I hit the horn. Maybe a quarter second delay on the air horn. Sounds almost like 2 vehicles honking at each other.
  5. My bike started doing that. Battery had to be replaced soon after. Starts right up now. Check the voltage on your battery.
  6. Seems like a pretty common issue, considering how many of us are discussing this. Almost like they know it'll usually last longer than the 1 year warranty and don't care after that...
  7. I just posted about the same thing about 2 weeks ago. But my issue is in second gear Some are able to fix it by cleaning the sensor. Didn't work for me. Considering how new the bikes are it's more likely the sensor needs to be replaced. I just decided to ignore it, I know when I'm in second gear lol
  8. That's exactly where mine broke. I assume it may be an intentional breaking point to protect the frame from damage. I was amazed at how clean the break was. Almost looked like someone took a saw to it.
  9. First time posting on this thread but had to for this. What did I do to my tracer today? Picked it up after my mother in law ran over it crash bars took most of the damage, only a snapped side stand
  10. Yamaha stopped selling lids some time back. Some have bought used damaged FJR cases just got the lids, drilled out the tracer bag rivets, and re riveted the FJR lids. Back when I was looking even damaged bags were seeming to cost a lot.
  11. hmm I nice. My riding boots are awesome, I love them. But the slightest hint of moisture and they feel like I stepped in oil. My boot has slipped off the pegs mounting up at least a dozen times. Wondering if these will help.
  12. Did this today. It was pretty clean, cleaned it anyways. No improvement.. Guess there's just something wrong with that sensor? not a deal breaker, I know the difference between 1-2-3rd gear. (as long as N still displays correctly lol) As a side bonus I got to clean the mound of built up fling off from the chain lube. Where can I find that sensor? I tried looking for that part in the diagrams and couldn't find it. If it's cheap I'll just replace it, if not I'll just keep going with it as is.
  13. My tracer started recently not displaying gears in the gear selection portion of my LCD panel. It doesn't happen all the time but 99% of the time no gear is displayed it's 2nd gear. It just shows a black box where the gear is normally displayed. Has this happened to anyone else or anyone know what may cause this? 2019 Tracer 900 GT.
  14. Contemplating getting a GPS. How does it fair vs just using my phone? I would love to have an always mounted GPS that I dont have mount/dismount/take in and out of my pocket ever time I get on or that overheats any time I use it on a bright sunny FL day.
  15. I considered it, decided not to. Glad I didn't. Love it as it is after I got used to it. 5'5" 28" inseam. 2019 Tracer 900 GT
  16. For me in S FL, with high heat and humidity in the city. Mesh jacket and under armour. Anything over 40 minutes each way, textile jacket and long sleeve under armour and camelback.
  17. Yeah you don't, but your 90% there already if you have the seals in hand. At this age I do all the maintenance I can along the way so I don't have to do it again... Kinda a bang for my buck time wise kinda thing. Anyways watch that video a few times and once you have the parts in your physical hands you'll be way less intimidated.
  18. That reminds me, i called the dealership about this about 2 months ago and they said they ordered the part and would call me back when it comes in... They never called me back....
  19. No doubt lol. About a week after I got my 2019 tracer 900 GT I got stuck behind an old lady on the turnpike going 40 MPH (all other traffic was going about 80. Scary to say the least as all the cars would keep at 80 until they were about 5 feet from my rear tire and switch lanes in ways that prevented me from being able to switch safely. I was new to the bike and dropped it into 3rd (I'd drop it to first now that I know better). I finally got a small break and pulled in behind a car that just passed me and I'm just pacing him. Thinking man this bike is so quick and smooth. I look down and I'm going 110 lol. 'oops'
  20. Is in the same boat about a month ago. I have been working on cars since I was 12 (now 43) but have never had to disassemble forks or anything similar so I was extremely intimidated. Here is the video I found most helpful. https://youtu.be/mm2F08Ys_zU Pay special attention to loosening the UPPER clamp to crack the top bolt. Not paying attention or realizing how it worked I loosened the lower ones and stripped mine a bit then realized oh crap, it's gotta be the top to relieve pressure so the threads can back out (smack forehead) Her is a list of tools I bought, they all worked well and were worth the purchase. The only thing I would change is as mentioned in other posts I wish I had a tool to retrieve the rod after compression during reassembly. I ended up tying fishing string below the nut and pulling it through. It worked but was a PITA. having a second set of hands I'd say it's pretty much mandatory during the compression steps. I actually had to replace my dust seals though, so you won't need all of these I don't think. 21. There are actually thin walled sockets you can buy also.
  22. Im 5'5" 160 lbs 28" inseam. My tracer is my daily driver. I can't flat foot it.... actually I'm barely able to tippy toe, unless I have a very heavy passenger. (My last bike was a slightly stretched 2003 very low Honda shadow, so to me this bike feels very top heavy) If it's not windy and im stuck at a long light some times I'll do the Captain Morgan stance and flat foot my left and rest my right leg on the seat. When I first got the bike I was looking at lowering links and all that but decided not to mess with the bike geometry without riding it for a bit. After riding it a few weeks I got used to it and decided to leave it as is. Im glad I didn't change anything. As tall as the bike is there are a few speed bumps in my gated neighborhood my tracer bottoms out on, I'm not a heavy guy (I'm very sure they are illegal) . I just have to make sure when i stop I play attention to the road and never stop at a place where my bike straddles a pot hole or dip so I can still at least tippy toe. The only changes to my bike is Madstad MRA vario windshield, and added an air horn. Not being able to flat foot it was scary at first, especially coming from such a low bike, doesn't bother me a bit now. Although I can't duck waddle backwards, but i've learned I don't really need to.
  23. The ones I put on are stick on. The factory ones are the clamp on ones. They are the original ones that came with the bike.
