  1. Brilliant what you did with the pinstripes and the Matte vs Gloss Black. I am currently gathering supplies to skin my panniers (to cover my huge scrape from a 2 mph parking lot drop) My idea is black reflective on top and bottom (where your Matte is) and Carbon Fiber in the center (where your Gloss Black is) and I ordered the Fairing blue decal to accent the Carbon Fiber. My idea was to do my lines pretty much straight through but I love the way your Matte is wrapping and connecting the top and bottom! I was considering twin pinstripes splitting the top and bottom but I think it may be too much with the decals. Excellent job, I love it!
  2. Theres also London lol. I was there about a month ago. I didn't have a bike but it seemed bike friendly. Drivers there for the most part were pretty nice. but it was cold. And lane splitting/filtering is allowed.
  3. I have one. love it, makes measuring your actual slack way easier. I also use the Chain Monkey tool. Expensive but worth it. Essentially once you set it to create a set amount of slack, you put it on your chain, remove all the slack from the chain (The tool still maintains the pre-set slack), lock your chain adjusters/wheel and remove the tool. Voila, pre-set amount of slack is in place.
  4. Oooh I want a fastcharge port. How did you do those?
  5. I use a Cardo also pretty much the whole time I'm on my bike.... which is a lot because my bike is my daily driver. Any time I am getting on the Interstate for over 5 mins I use attenuating noise filters. I used to have a set of Alpines (As mentioned above) and they were great until a dog ate one. Right now I am using a pair of Ear Peace noise filters. I prefer attenuating noise filters because they only reduce certain frequencies (Most motorcycle specific designs focus on highs and lows). It reduces wind and engine noise drastically but I can still hear my music, approaching vehicles and converse with people fine. I also ordered a new windshield last month (hopefully it will ship about 2 weeks from now) Which I am hoping reduces wind noise. My hearing already isn't the best so I'm trying really hard to preserve what I have.
  6. @DavidS Do you have pics by chance? and is it the 58X/59X or another model?
  7. I completely agree lol. when he announced his pick I was like 'Wait wha...... did I miss something?' I'd rather pay a few extra bucks for lower maintenance, good CCA, a broad operating temp range (My last bike I rode in temps ranging between 20-110 deg F), and less 'memory loss' (I forget my keys in the ignition once in a while lol). My pick was the Gel, which I had used in my previous bike and mentioned earlier in this post. This video affirmed my preference for my choice, although I can see the benefits of the others depending on location, use, riding style, budget, etc. IMO the lead is for someone on a budget that doesn't mind doing the maintenance and doesn't care if it leaks situationally. That ain't me lol. but if you ignore his pick the rest of the video is good.
  8. I want a topbox. I have been looking at the Yammy 50L and maybe the Shad 58X/59X. I think it would be awesome if I could have the ability to fit 2 helms in it, but wonder if it would be too big. Anyone have experiences with 50Ls? Or any other box that can fit 2 helms? Any Pics and/or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
  9. FYI - Timely luck: Ryan at F9 just did a very informative video about the different battery technologies and gives pros and cons of each!
  10. I'm 150, 1/2 a year ago my son was 150 as well, but nowhere near as strong as me and he was able to do it (hes 170 now lol) I explain it this way to people. Step on the center stand until it 'settles'. Grab the saddlebag rack. Standing on that center stand, just stand straight up pressing foot straight down, pulling the bike straight up. I actually have to arch my back a bit and tippy toe a little on the center stand as I'm only 5'5". I'm sure this is easier for taller riders, but still very doable lol. As long as you imagine the pressure on the center stand going straight down while you stand on the center stand, while keeping in mind the bike needs to go straight up, it's not hard. Sometimes when I'm tired or injured I even bring it up a little, let it go down, and bring it back up (to get a rocking motion) and it's even easier.
  11. I'm about to ceramic coat my Tracer. I've only had mine for 8 months (I live in Florida only a few miles from the ocean) and all of the aluminum parts under my seat are oxidizing pretty bad. I am thinking of polishing off all of the oxidation and either using the ceramic coat or some metal sealant. Should I do something to protect my steering column and other components?
  12. LOL Not Florida. 1. No lane splits. 2. HAWT. 3. the law.... meh they'll be quick to pull you over for speed traps or if you do something to a cager. Cager tries to intentionally run you over and the cop didn't physically see it, they won't do anything, and video doesn't count (ask how I know) 4. Day trips. Not really much scenery. all the roads tend to be flat and straight. Everglades is boring. I will however say I've been to Key west literally hundreds of times growing up (and all the times I've been it was a nice on a bike, scenic ride into the keys). Last year was my first time going on a bike. The keys are extremely bike friendly. In a car you pay an arm and leg for parking if you can find it. There are TONS of free bike/moped/motorcycle parking spots! just beware of traffic here, locals dont give a crap and the non-locals don't know how to drive lol
  13. I have read (and theres some topics about previous gens) reguarding air filter upgrades and cutting down the snorkel inside the airbox to improve air flow. I will be getting a Akro exhaust and ECU flash in the future, and am wondering, is this relevant or worth it for the 2019 Tracer 900 GT? I remember with my old muscle-cars after tossing on aftermarket exhaust and tuning the timing and carbs, opening up the air intake made a huge difference.
  14. I was very seriously considering them when I first got my bike, glad I didn't. I don't like messing with suspension geometry. And it seemed like a lot of work for an inch to half inch drop. Seems pretty straight forward though. I agree with edgar, if your going through the trouble, I'd get some ones better than yamaha offers. Edit: it's not bad one you get used to it. My tracer is quite taller than me. I'm 5'5", 28 inch inseam. That doesn't matter when your rolling though.
  15. I considered it when I first got the bike, after some riding realized it was good for me as is. I'm a shorter rider, 5'5" The are tons of ways to do it, risers, bars, etc.. are they too high? Are you going for a more tucked stance?
  16. Ergonomics? May help if we knew your normal riding stance. For me it's a slight forward lean, arms fairly straight and close to parallel to ground. I kept factory config for handlebars. Yours may need some adjustment. I learned how much of a difference proper body position can make on my first bike. Handlebars were way forward and high, on a cruiser. My arms would go to sleep over long periods and lower back sore from leaning so far forward. I got new risers and brought the bars closer to me and lower, allowing a more natural relaxed position. Arms and back were good but playing with lever positions eventually made hand pain go away as well. All my pain and suffering from bad position went away by making small adjustments, you'd be surprised how much a 1/4" adjustment can make over a long period, especially if you ride a lot and you force your self to "deal with it" I'm 5'5", 28"inseam 150 lbs 42 years old with back problems so a fairly upstanding back position is important to me, especially since I don't have a car, the bike is my daily driver. Of course this effects my hand, arm and leg positions.
  17. I got a mighty max gel battery a few years back for my Honda shadow. Surprisingly good battery. Price was good, I could really feel the higher cold cranking amps, and if I remember right it had a wider operating temperature range. If I need to get a new battery for my tracer I'll probably look for something similar.
  18. Grats! I just ordered a MRA vario touring screen also. Loving this bike. Getting 50L (unless 2 helmets for in the 39 L, which I doubt) I just wish there was an all black version available. Now I gotta convince my wife to jump on, I think the height is intimidating for her. She used to jump on my shadow once in a while.
  19. Yes please! I've been eyeballing the version of this with the spoiler attached for months.
  20. At the highest setting, The air seems go right in my face. Really apparent at 60+mph
  21. Lol dropped mine 2nd week of owning. Parking, Made a U turn to face bike outward. Brand new brakes had WAY more bite than I was used to. Handlebars were barely turned, and I was still in a slight lean. I barely touched the front brake and my bike flew straight down on the right side. Then I picked up the bike. The bike rolled slightly, the kickstand folded and off it went on the left side. So now I got a scar on the right saddlebag, and a small scuff on the left engine case. 😁 Gonna just skin the saddlebags, got some cool designs in mind. But I would love touch up paint for the case cover too.
  22. Looking forward to it. Still looking for a windscreen worth it. Shorter rider, 5'5" I love my GT but the windscreen and the fact a helm won't fit in the saddlebag are the only things I dont like about the bike.
  23. So many great ideas. I like the dry spec tube. I have even been researching making Carbon Fiber car parts and possibly making a box that I can hang undertail using the mounting surface for the license plate holder. I guess the best thing is to get all I want to stay on the bike at all times and see how much space I'll actually need. One thing I wish my tracer GT had is attachment points under-tail to make bungee and rachet strapping easier. A few weeks ago I had to go somewhere and needed to bring a duffllebag back. I then realized this bike isn't really rachet strap friendly. Any more ideas keep em coming!
  24. Anyone know of any good undertail storage for tracers? My bike is my daily driver, and every time I see it without my saddlebags on it I think 'damn, I bet I can fit a tool kit under my tail.... such a waste of space.' This would allow you to always keep chain maintenance tools and/or small emergency tools on my bike at all times, with or without saddlebags.
